I want Roddy Blair another person to make our place into where armies go to get trapped.
As for Hans while I do like him he doesn't really know that much magic and well we got a fair number plus we want the Glooms.
Wasabi would be nice for the big hero 6 but not that much to offer
Alan Bradley now here is something I want. I been pushing for AI upgrades and here is a computer expert. Also he can tell us what that lazor we bought does.

As much as I want Wasabi, and I really want him, I think it would be better for us to get Alan Bradley and Roddy Blair.

So,
[ ] Wasabi
[ ] Alan Bradley

I think Wasabi will get us closer to recruiting GoGo and she's an amazingly effective agent. Also, Wasabi could definitely use some of Technor's help but is otherwise really competent. We don't have enough Super-Scientists who are also usable for field work. Wasabi is a gem.

Alan could be useful with DoofOS. We've kinda been ignoring it? so ENCOM's been achieving market dominance there.

I don't think we need as much Lair help? And Hans isn't a practitioner, which is what we need. he doesn't give us any new Occult ability. just research. he's where we were months back. We need occult associates who are ahead of us to drive us forward.

I hereby cast my lot for
[ ] Alan Bradley
[ ] Roddy Blair, King of Lairs

Because we stumbled pretty hard on the ENCOM fight, and I think that's a ticking-clock fight we can WIN if we do it right,

And a castle is a lair. IMAGINE THE TRAPS HE'D LAY DOWN IN THERE.

Something else to remember about Wasabi. Give him something to fight for, and that laser-focus and precision is brought to the battlefield too. He was able to effectively cut projectiles out of the air from the start, practice means he'll only get better.

I'm of the view that we should really get Alan Bradley.

Beyond that, it's mainly a point of character prioritization... and Wasabi might get snatched up if we don't get him this turn, and we should probably wait to get the lair builder due to the "first action" requirement if we don't have anything in mind.

The lair builder probably won't be snatched up by someone else if we wait a turn, where Wasabi probably will.

He's a high level stewardship hero beyond being a contraction specialist, which is something we don't have.
yeah, but his Loyalty will decay if we don't give him more construction tasks. Wasabi's won't as long as we manage his anxiety. And we already have Technor to help with that.

in fairness we will be prioritizing the glooms and the dancer in the next two turns. So the builder could be picked up in that time and in that time we are likely to need to recruit new people.

Goddamnit, @Made in Heaven , stop giving us awesome people to recruit!!!! We have so many we want to get now along with the Glooms and Juniper!!!! Theres gotta be a way to increase rolodex recruitment. Nonetheless, great work as always!!!
We could recruit more Diplomacy heroes, to specifically use to hire people.

Galaxy brain tactic right there.

Nowhere does it say that. In fact it says the exact opposite
"Hrrmmm." Roddy rubs his beard for a moment. "Tell ya what. Start me out with whatever sorta remodeling ya need done around here. Ya pay me on time, I like the look of the place, we can put a contract together fer some more regular work."
That line implies, he's gonna do construction FIRST and then he'll be willing to do generic stewardship work.

[ ] Hans Rotwood
The big downside to this guy seems to be his self-worth issues; something we can likely improve rather easily with both Technor's counciling and letting him in on the whole "magic is real, and your crazy theories have merit" thing.

[ ] Alan Bradley
I'll admit that I don't know much about tron, but judging by his interlude section, I get the feeling this may be a time-sensitive opportunity.

No resurrections, I'm afraid, but if you could theoretically bring him back I'm sure he'd make any future Enigma ciphers easier.
That's what we have robot-doppelganger tech for ! (Yes, an AI copy of Alan Turing, father of the Turing Test. That sweet, delicious irony.) We could set him to decoding the odd transmissions. :p

Seriously though:
Rotwood doesn't interest me, not when we don't want to break the masquerade just yet.
Just to argue the Devil's Advocate point, once the Masquerade does break and his theories are proven correct, Rotwood's star will probably be on the rise.

Once he has access to actual magical creatures to study, his stats are likely to shoot up since he is actually brilliant, so we might have a limited opportunity window to recruit him for maximum loyalty gain (or at all, if he gets hired by someone else).

Hmm...of these four, I'm thinking Alan and Rodney. Rodney ought to be very helpful for moving the castle, while Alan, even if we don't find out all his secrets, ought to be very helpful for improving DoofOS. We did some good work there, and I think that we should give serious consideration to trying to continue that work in the future.

As for the other two...Wasabi seems nice but someone who can wait for a few turns, while Rotator may not be the best choice considering that we agreed that the Magic Masquerade should stay up for now.

I'm definitely getting Blair but the second choice is very hard. Wasabi and Alan are 50-50 because I know a lot about Wasabi and I know so little about Alan.

Your work is moving apace, your reports are impeccable, and you display a level of sensibility I have found quite difficult to cultivate."

Wasabi
Stewardship and Learning hero, graduate from SFIT, expert in optics
Pragmatism: Low
Quirkiness: Medium
Instability: Low
Tolerance for Nonsense: Medium
Plasma Blades: Sharp
Fastidiousness: High
Anxiety: Extremely High
One of only two stewardship options, presumably engineering flavored, with a plasma/optics learning spec . Ok, I guess, but not a great option with our learning heroes.

Once a distinguished professor at the Institute of Hoboken, until his cockamamie theories got him thrown out of every reputable establishment in the world. He was thrown out for his theorems on the existence of mystical creatures! For all we know, we may be looking at a brilliant scientific mind simply lying in wait.

'Professor' Hans Rotwood
Learning (and Occult???) hero with experience in the humanities and an obsession with proving the existence of magical beings
Pragmatism: Medium
QuirkiKookyness: Medium
Instability: Medium
Tolerance for Nonsense: High
Self-Worth Issues: High
Good growth and loyalty potential, but based on his description he seems to have little occult knowledge up front, and no clear magical potential.
Also, liberal arts learning hero? Miss me with that.

"He was a notably talented programmer who worked with ENCOM for some twenty odd years. Respected in his field as a security specialist."

Alan Bradley
Learning hero with strong digital focus. Knows the ins and outs of network design and security.
Pragmatism: Medium
Instability: Low
Tolerance for Nonsense: Medium
Programming Skills: High
Secrets: ???
Actively involved with the grid, but seems like more of a software specialist than a grid specialist. We won't get his secrets for free, but researching the laser is one action, and lets us start any grid actions on a strong note. Not a stewardship hero though.

"Oh I make lairs fer everybody. I've done for all the greats. Baron Von Steamer? Me. Shego's creepy black spire? Mine. The Eyrie Building? ...not mine, actually, I put in a bid but Davie insisted on doing things in-house. Heck, I even built the Awesome Cave, although, if ya ever see Boss Awesome, tell 'im I thought of a much betta secret base name like three days after I left."

Roddy Blair, King of Lairs
Top of the Line, super-sensible Super-Architect and Stewardship Hero
Pragmatism: Medium
Quirkiness: Low
Instability: Low
Tolerance for Nonsense: High
Blue Collar Wisdom: High
Professional Pride: High

If hired, Roddy will expect his first action to relate in some way to super-construction.
Engineering/Architecture based stewardship hero with a ton of connections. Perfect for Doofhawk, dino park, and future terra-forming actions, maybe even space stuff. Instant yes.

I'll be going with:
[ ] Alan Bradley
For grid advancement and AI
[ ] Roddy Blair, King of Lairs
Because we need a stewardship hero, and he's clearly the best option here
