As far as I know there has been no confirmation of this. Jiraiya didn't want to risk it at all, and I would respect his knowledge on nature chakra. If we want to do this, we might as well just try to get Noburi sage mode first.
Wonder if it can be tested with ma/pa around. Just a tiny bit, to check. If it is dangerous they smack him and cut it off as they would during sage training. If it isn't then we have a possible solution to our chakra problems.

Since if it is safe when drawn on the 7th path itself we can just do a bit of shuffling and find some summons willing to sell their chakra for something we can handle.

(The thing that miffed me about this interaction is that we most certainly never had any intention of trying to conceal what we're doing from Tenten, as would be futile for logistical reasons and unreasonable for team-morale reasons, so this was Hazou making a very silly mistake and being kinda rude of his own initiative in a way that subtly undermined Tenten's integration into the team. But it's probably fine, since we're planning to share all the things with her now.)

I suppose that's something to keep track of, as a divergence between Hazou and the Hivemind. We never intended to try and hide impossible-to-logistically-conceal parts of our project from the person we were knowingly inviting onto the project, but Hazou isn't made of dozens of people thinking in different directions for days on end and relies much more heavily on mental habits that can fail to properly integrate the implications of new information.

It may be more that Hazou wanted be the one to explain it, since it was his secret, and is miffed Kei went and skipped the part where she let him be the one to explain the cause, as we would generally allow Kei to do when it was her secret in question

Kei: I'm telling Tenten about runes.
Hazou: Fine, but I get to teach her shadow clone.
Snowflake: :(
Hazou: ...ugh, whatever, I'll show her rocket boots or something.

Before we teach anyone SC can we talk to Mari and Kei about if it's a good idea and whether it will be easier for us to win forgiveness or permission from Naruto?

Mostly, I just think that Hazou should really underscore that knowledge of this sealing discipline spreading too widely is existentially threatening (amateurs attempting to discover runecrafting by themselves could doom the setting just as easily as any other Xrisk present). It is fine that everyone present knows about it. What is not fine is them ever breathing a word about it to anyone that doesn't already know about it.

Essentially, Hazou should Forbid the Lore.

Got an alternate outcome in mind? Either we die or become Leaf's greatest heroes for killing Akatsuki, necromancying Jiraya et al, or both. Neither result seems like we'd have to worry about this.

[X] Action Plan: Welcome to Uplift
Welcome to Team Uplift, Hazou has some new seals he'll need to scribe for everyone
The plan then does not instruct Hazou to scribe any seals for anyone.
At check-in that night, ask the Toad Sages clear Noburi of any genjutsu. Itachi is a known mind-controller.
Presumably this was already discussed, but how is that supposed to work? Genjutsu don't have lingering effects by default. If we're postulating that Itachi might have genjutsu with lingering effects, we should specify that, or the Toad Sages won't understand what the hell we're asking of them. And if this is about his (supposed) mind-control, we don't know that it's a genjutsu, as opposed to a jutsu or some non-disciplinary Sharingan bullshit.

I'd rephrase it as something like: "Brief the Toad Sages on Itachi's genjutsu and mind-control capabilities. Ask them to evaluate, to the best of their ability, whether Noburi is or has recently been under the influence of any mental effect."
Tenten we have a jutsu scroll for Flame Aura if you'd like to learn it, (if you don't already know it). Gai taught it to Akane.
  • I don't think any of our Fire jutsu are suited for you, but if you want a capability just ask.
I'd bundle that with the Tenten-related section in "today". Something like:
  • [...] we'll get you read into to all of our codes, combat strategies, and capabilities ASAP. If you want to be taught any jutsu we have, or get a supply of some seal, just ask. Kei, mind taking point?
    • Suggest Flame Aura (if Tenten doesn't already know it).

This is the perfect time to get her the scroll. We're no longer Leaf nin. We're actually the opposite of Leaf nin. No other ninja is so thoroughly not a part of Leaf as we are at this exact moment.
The fact that we went on a hunt for the Squirrel Scroll is, to my understanding, public knowledge in Leaf (or at least on the record at an ordinary level of clearance) and I expect that makes Neck an unsafe place to go to again in the future, since even if we do not get intercepted directly there we risk leaving information behind in the hands of whoever is there when the hunter-nin do show up to investigate. It doesn't sound like the biggest OPSEC breach, but it still is one.

If we're going to go for it, we need to go all in on it IMO. Ambush a squad, drain them all and refill clones, have Mari wheedle all the intel possible out of them, then move on to the next squad, repeat as necessary until we know where the scroll is and storm in with a veritable army of Mari Shadow Clones (and friends). Make it as quick and efficient as possible. I can see it being something we pick up early on once we've reached the Eastern Continent. Some of our teammates need to unstagnate (and their continual acquiring of XP increases our safety, to be balanced against the loss of safety of doing the mission.) It would be a pretty decent boost for Mari on judgment day and potentially allows her to contribute her strength if Itachi and Kisame start prodding at the borders of Dog or something. There's also the meta incentive of being interesting enough to keep Jashin from leading Hidan to us.

Somewhat straightforwardly, if we're going to do it at all, it should be something we commit to doing fairly early on so Mari has time to get the stunt (roughly 2 months with TR 150) and acquire some stronger summons. If we're going to wait on it, there's not much point to doing it.

Prime scribes seals for the team (RRBs, Force Blades, skywalkers etc.)

"Brief the Toad Sages on Itachi's genjutsu and mind-control capabilities. Ask them to evaluate, to the best of their ability, whether Noburi is or has recently been under the influence of any mental effect."
Works for me

Sounds good

[X] Let EJ write what he wants. We trust him.

Next, we're heading to the Oro's chakra water cave in Wind
  • Plan: Skywalk to directly above it and dive down. Use a telescope to confirm area has no human presence.
  • Any other suggestions to get in undetected?

We are walking over multiple strong countries moments after we went missing nin. Naruto might be leaving a false trail and were using Skywalkers but maybe we should wait until everything has calmed down before we do that?

Or just give the group more options, right now we're only asking how to get in undetected. If everyone else wants to hop to the eastern continent then we can do that.

Misinformation is just as good as noninformation. If we crisscross our directions that provide a maximally valid number of paths it gets exponentially more difficult to track us.

Well sure, but if Akatsuki knows about the Oasis then Deidara might go take a bath for maximum clay dragon speed.

And that's just one possibility, Sand,Rock and Rain are all close by. Plus whoever,

We will be hunted, not only by Akatsuki, but also by lesser threats, such as the hunter-nin of every village in the world aware that the creator of skywalkers is now fair game.

It's not just Akatsuki.
@Sir Stompy , Showing the Toad Sages Naruto's letters is probably a good idea and should be fine anyway. Probably makes it easier to work with us.

Eh,
Total mind control, allowing him to puppeteer ninja into fighting their allies with a glance.
mind-control genjutsu,

Even if its Kotoamatsukami it's going to affect his eyes.
These abilities are chakra-hungry and self-damaging when overused, which is unusual for bloodlines.

If you really want to know we could have already investiagted as Oro said,
He can produce a ninjutsu called Amaterasu, which is undodgeable, unblockable, and inevitably lethal. As an aside, I note that investigating these names would be profitable if you truly wish to learn this world's deepest secrets.

Okay, idea. A rune or seal that stores all matter within x radius around it which can be released later via a paired regular seal. We earth walk into a mountain or down underground, carve a chunk out (which we can then use as a temporary base of operations paired withair seals). Later we drop a literal mountain or massive amount of rock on top of akatsuki and the rift or whatever.
