[x] Interlude: Haru and His New Mom

Edit: I kinda want to check in. I know Haru was developing into a "gruff but caring older brother" to his new stepsiblings, but I hope that Haru (who is now being trained by Momma Bear Mari) might develop a healthier relationship with his stepmom.

Because my mental model of Mari says that she'd notice the conflict and seek to (subtly) help things along.

Hazo wasn't able to FOOM on day one, but the subsequent visits on the 7th Path were so short that he should have been able to fully FOOM the remaining nine days.

Base XP: 50

Akane: 56 Resolve (Assuming training plan passed) -> 1.7x * 50 = 85 FOOM XP
Hazo: 38 Resolve -> 1x * (50 * .9) = 45 FOOM XP
Kei: 60 Resolve -> 1.8x reduced by .4 due to Snowflake -> 1.4x * 50 = 70 FOOM XP

Unrelated, I think Akane and Kei's physiques should have leveled due to PCJ.

    • Tell Kumafuwafuwa of the Yamanaka, their specialty of the mind, and Hazō's use of the Stability Jutsu.
    • Ask Kumafuwafuwa if he consents to us seeking the Yamanaka's aid, and if he thinks we should ask for Mateo's consent ahead of time knowing that the Yamanaka might not be able to help.
      • Ask for Mareo's consent if prompted.
      • Skip remainder of section if either decline.
    • Meet with Ino and Akane.
    • Debrief on Mareo and his condition.
    • Ask if there is anything the Yamanaka can do to help.
    • In exchange, Hazō will share what he learns from Mareo with Ino.
    • Hazō is willing to pass along offers that he believes won't damage his relationship with Mareo.
  • Shikamaru told us to ask the Mori sisters about the OG Mori.
    • Meet with Kei.
    • Share what we know and suspect of the Five.
    • Mention Kei's reaction to Yuno speaking about them.

Can we at least talk to Kumafuwafuwa and possibly Marro about seeking treatment for the guy? I feel really, really uncomfortable with the plans as-is for this reason alone.

I want to see what options there are first. I don't want to present Kuma or Mareo with false hope. False hope can be horrible.

And I do not wish to blab to everyone and their mother about Mareo's dementia when it seems pretty clear to me that this information was given to us in confidence.

Ninjas hoard and steal secrets like this, and Mareo clearly went missing to get away from it all. If we spend this secret, even if the intent is on the surface to help him, Mareo will see us as just another ninja.
 
Can we just ask about wondering wit's without mentioning mareo?
We have a med nin that is sufferingnfrom earlier stages of alzimers don't we?

I see four possibilities.

1. We ask Ino.
She can't help.
The end.

2. We ask Mareo.
He doesn't want help.
The end.

3. We ask Ino.
She can help.
We ask Mareo.
He doesn't want help.
The end.

4. We ask Ino.
She can help
We ask Mareo.
He wants help.
The end.

If Mareo is going to be upset with us for asking if he wants help, he's going to be upset whether or not we ask Ino first. We can at least avoid having that conversation altogether if Ino lets us know that she can't help. Also, Ino isn't just anyone, she's one of Hazō's partner. It would be a pretty sad state of affairs if he can't trust her to keep Mateo's condition secret.

Hazou is already known to be speaking with the Bear Summoner, who is elderly; we've gotten permission from enough people for that. A couple meetings later and he suddenly cares about some ninja with Alzheimer's? Hmm…

I'm not concerned about Ino keeping the secret so much as I am Hazou keeping the secret. From Kumafuwafuwa, who will maul our ass.

Would you like it if I added a bit about getting permission from the Bear Boss? I personally see it as him having medical power of attorney over Mareo, considering his condition.

People know it?Did we tell to everybody about a private affair on the 7th phat? Also Hazou is famous for just Get new intrests at radom. I don't want to lie to Ino specifically but leaf as a hole don't need to know. And yeah we could really hel one of our ninja so why not use the pretext?

It's not too difficult to trace Hazou's interests to a source, if you have enough spies listening in on him. And he definitely has spies listening in on his ass.

Here's the problem right there, Hazou sucks at lying and Ino definitely has way better social stats then he has.

@RandomOTP I will vote for your plan IFF you move the sanity-check to after we talk to Mareo/Kumafuwafuwa, otherwise the section is nonsensical.

Might also ask for a wording change on that part (IE explicitly mention the dementia for QM clarity), but it's good enough that I would be OK with it not changing.

For the sake of QM clarity, maybe be explicit in what we're offering to search for help with? Also, would it be possible to start the disclaimers first? Maybe like...

Why is the emphasis on Ami and Snowflake/Kei to find solutions? Shouldn't Noburi (medic-nin, Kabuto's apprentice), Ino (Yamanaka clan, mind-people, CAUTION BECAUSE THEY MAY HAVE A BAD REPUTATION IN THIS REGARD), Mari (grandmother had brain-sickness), or that one retired estate Chunin with early signs of dementia be the first people to talk to?
