I am not happy with EM training plans that don't explicitly say how to do it non-suicidally and unobserved.
Even if you think Hazō doesn't need a justification scene to tell Akane to train it, raising it blindly will end in her dead.
I agree, but I don't think it's strictly necessary for this cycle in particular, since EM 33 is not enough to create a nuke unless
maybe if we skywalk up to the top of the troposphere, which we have no reason to do IC. I'd approve of setting those security measures into place now so that when we do hit nuke levels we have those procedures already entrenched, but even if we put it off until next time we won't accidentally ourselves.
I have a few thoughts:
Pros:
- That sounds like the sort of thing both authors would like to write
- It's pretty big-balls to make fun of the Hagoromo on their own compound
- fuck da hags
Cons/Concerns:
- It sounds like the intent is to start shit with the Hagoromo or have them start it first, if we're trying to improve resolve. I'm concerned about intentionally aggravating them, and I'm also concerned Hazou's presence at their compound will make them bully Harumitsu more. I understand people want him to be alienated so he's more loyal to us but that's pretty fucked up in my opinion. I don't want to intentionally draw him more ire, personally.
- I'm not really sure this does actually improve resolve. Maybe, since like I said it is kind of big-balls to make fun of someone in their own home like that, but on the other hand Hazou did it with ease last time he was there, so I'm not sure it actually tests his limits.
- I don't know what kind of endgame we expect out of this? We're not going to get Harumitsu to leave his clan, they won't lose their only sealmaster willingly (there's weirdness here - the Minami had to appeal to the Hokage to leave the Hyuuga but Snowflake seemed to think it was trivial to leave the Goketsu. I dunno all the rules.) He's already pretty loyal to Hazou, if we want info out of him it probably wouldn't be hard to Social-spec it out of him with like empathy or rapport 30. And he's not going to be able to give up clan secrets pretty much no matter what.
Overall, I'm not opposed to a Harumitsu scene being included, but I think it needs some refining.
Personally my ideal version of 'turning' Harumitsu is becoming a genuine and unconditional friend to him such that, as he grows into his own as a talented sealmaster and powerful influence in the Hagoromo Clan, he becomes - our dastardly plan activating - predisposed to think kindly of us! And then, we use our insidious machinations to
encourage and support his self-confidence, giving him the strength of will to stand up for what he believes in, slicing a wound of treachery deep into the heart of the Hagoromo!
But no seriously, even if we just cruise from here Harumitsu will likely refrain from supporting the Hagoromo faction that hates our guts, and the more we encourage and support him and treat him like a genuine friend the more of a pro-Goketsu influence he'll have over the Hagoromo. We don't need to change his ideology to Uplift or steal him away or convert him into a saboteur, we just need to be genuinely good to him and the rest writes itself.
