EM nukes are useless against Rock (since it's underground)
Cast them over the entrance. The city would flood, and even if they survive, their entrance would be unusable. Or better, cast them next to the entrance, such that the threat is obvious, then collectively negotiate surrender without ever admitting individual responsibility.
What is this long lasting CO2 sublimation jutsu? EM? It doesn't do that, I don't understand.
Technically deposition, not sublimation. Akane can already cast Elemental Mastery low enough that the CO₂ should fall out of the atmosphere like snow.

This saves clone time, but is unpredictable and inefficient. The chakra drains from the canteens nonlinearly. Don't think it's worth it tbh.

Sure, but we just need to find the "safe zone" in which do so, it costs nothing and gives more time with SCs active(And more imporantly, helps with FOOM OPSEC).

Honestly this just seems needlessly complex. Why don't we just have Akane hit her targets with SC? She's just trying to wreck infrastructure and kill weak scrubs so should work

Because SC costs a lot of CP to the point it's not viable in combat, also, the last enemy she fought was a Jounin(That they were lucky enough to fight 2v1), not exactly a "weak scrub".

You're right, I overstated my case. Still it's much less effective than it would be against Leaf, Cloud, Mist, or Sand. The lack of exposed buildings vastly limits the damage that the hypertornado can do. It would probably still be bad for them.

One would think that a Nuke based entirely on doing horrible things to air would be especially affective on an underground target considering they would have a limited supply of air.

My understanding is that there is no "safe zone" because the chakra leaks out a different way each time. Chakra be like that

IIRC Chakra isn't scientific, but it is "stable" enough people can actually use it. MEW can cost a bit less, or a bit more, but it won't cost 100x more of it's cost randomly. In the same way, chakra would probably leak from the Wakahisa water a bit faster or a bit slower depending on many factors, but it won't disappear in a fifth of the time or something. Uplift should already have a rough idea, as they used chakra water from basically the start of the quest.

You might not be considering that this is a jutsu we could keep active, day and night, for months on end. If their village is large enough to survive a single cast at the entrance, that doesn't mean there isn't a breaking point.

To be fair I'm also anchored to the old version, which was significantly bigger. Do we know how big villages are, roughly?

The jutsu does things to air, but they literally live in an enormous tornado shelter. It's not going to steal all their air or anything crazy if they did a decent job ventilating it. Which they almost certainly did.

Also true, but that's dangerous for other reasons. The other villages might notice, Akane might get killed, anything could go wrong really.

It's less the tornado that would get them, more the flood, and if they avoid the flood, then their crops freeze.

Not that it's foolproof, but note she'd be casting through a Shadow Clone, with Prime doing much more normal alibi-generating things at Leaf.

Yeah but if the SC gets defeated it's probably because ran into a jounin. If there is a jounin there the mission should be scratched anyway.
I don't really agree. A chuunin with full reserves can probably beat a clone that can't take a hit and has very low chakra (since after casting all remaining chakra is divided up equally). Boosting and buffs are very important chakra expenses that make or break battles. A clone only working with base stats is not going to hang with someone who has similar or even slightly worse base stats and a bunch of other resources at their disposal.

[X] Action Plan: Hope for the Best, Plan for the Worst
Word Count: 280
  • Nara
    • Discuss Otter/Sand strategy with Asuma's war advisors.
    • Sand False Flag Operation:
      • If the ploy fails, Sand may team up with Rock and Cloud instead. Additionally, we are weakening an ally when they are already weak.
      • Instead of committing false flag against Sand, why not perform a false flag against Rock, posing as Sand ninja?
        • If the ploy fails, the operation is still valuable in that it weakens our enemies. If successful, our ninja can retreat back into Wind Country to bait Rock into invading.
        • Additionally, there is less risk of turning an ally against ourselves.
    • Otter Hunters
      • Necessary roles to fill (some may overlap):
        • Two Combat Specs.
          • Suggestions: Yuno, Akane, a Summoner such as Kei or Ruri
        • Social Spec/Infiltrator, for coaxing info out of locals without giving away ninja-ness.
          • Suggestions: Mari, a Yamanaka, Anko
        • Tracker/Scout/Anti-Ambush, for locating the Scroll and any useful locations our intel gives us.
          • Suggestions: Hazou (he can acquire Summons), an Inuzuka
        • Hyuuga or Sasuke for detecting the Scroll's chakra signature.
          • Suggestions: Neji, Sasuke
        • A Summoner.
          • Suggestions: Hazou, Kei, Neji, Ruri
      • Possible concerns:
        • Inuzuka dogs, Hyuuga eyes, Aburame glasses, Summon Scrolls are all very distinctive. Perhaps team could be granted ANBU masks to hide byakugan?
      • Additionally:
        • Either Hazou or Mari should stay to help run Goketsu, don't send both.
  • Ruri
    • Sanity check with Mari
    • Pass on Kei's messages. Give a knowing look in case the subtext isn't immediately obvious.
    • "Completely totally unrelated" to Kei's advice, Kei may blame herself for the Condor situation but Hazou shares it too. The Dragon Crisis necessitates potentially distasteful cooperation, but the plight of the Condors is something he wants to help fix afterward.
Added a second scene for our conversation with Ruri, feel free to suggest changes.

Doesn't Akane have super high cr compared to everyone else? I def thought she had enough to cast SC once and still be fully effective. Though def could be misremembering

She has CR 30 so if she summons one clone she will have 125 CP divided between the two of them. 60 CP for the clone isn't that impressive. That's like a couple of PKH's and substitutions I guess. Not even counting armor jutsu, flame aura at effect 3 is 36, only 24 chakra left to do substitutions/boosting/PKH is not impressive, she would basically need to win the round after casting flame aura which isn't a given against a chuunin. And if she takes any stress in the one or two turns (varies by initiative rolls) it takes to cast flame aura and attack, the clone instantly dies

Hmmm. Maybe specify that we also tell Ruri that it's a trap. I don't really understand what Kei's double-talk meant, but it sounded like something that was intended to be alongside our information that the pangolins were setting a trap.

If I'm wrong about the double-talk's meaning or you think we'll mention it anyway, that's fine with me though.

PSA: Regarding uncaps

As part of the new trial rules, every 5-level step will require its own uncap. Leaps will not be possible. We're making one final exemption for the upcoming Akane plan.

I think that's the subtext, yeah. Hopefully running it by Mari smooths any confusion in my plan's wording or in Kei's, but I will add explained subtext in the plan as well

Would you be willing to change it to "optimize/sanity check with Mari," just to be safe? This is a complex situation, and I'd like to add that as an additional safety net --just to be safe.

I'd also like to add giving Kei her new training plan, though I'd be okay with it being offscreened. Maybe something to the effect of...
  • Offscreen
    • Give Kei and Snowflake Training Plan. We're sorry that we misplaced it/Fifi eat it. We rewrote it asap because we know how important this is.
    • Snowflake, you expressed some reluctance about our suggestion but weren't able to properly verbalize it.
      • You don't have to utilize it if you're uncomfortable with it.
      • We won't be offended, and we don't have to understand your boundaries to accept them --"no" is a complete sentence.

EDIT: If the language used about Snowflake's reluctance seems a little serious, then I'd like to point out that we're discussing Snowflake's very existence. That's an intimate subject of conversation, and a very serious deal. Even if Snowflake isn't able to properly articulate her feelings about it, we should respect them. Her "I'm not wholly comfortable with it, but I guess I'll use it as a stopgap solution" reads as very... uncomfortable to me.

I would prefer not to go over word count to add something offscreen. When I get home I'll try to optimize the word count heavily and see if I can fit it in, but what you've proposed is essentially a plan in and of itself :p

If there's not word count for the whole thing, I'd be okay with "give Kei training plan" and then link the training plan to it (Paper had a popular one, iirc).

As for the verbosity of my suggested snippet... Yeah, I maaay have gotten a little carried away.

Just for the record, I have also posted a Training plan for Kei (that you should vote for!)

There's also a few for Akane floating around
