On Thread Etiquette:

I'm not going to weigh in on the logic of either side's arguments, but I will ask that everyone read over what they write and really consider if the words they used are polite and won't be inflammatory intentionally or not. You cant account for people's tolerances perfectly but at least try to say your piece without saying things that can be easily construed as overly dismissive of the other side of the argument, thank you.

Please endeavour to be cordial. :^)

I'm confused - why does the leading plan buy rights to trade for future translations but not buy the ones that are partially-done (and will be delivered on completion)? If the former included the latter, why would the options be separate?

Between the two I value the hesitation reduction more and think the future rights thing is a hook for future trading which I want to do.

[X] Plan Almost Full Throttle
[X] Plan Mountainsouled Hint

I'm going to be honest I don't really care for this trade so honestly I don't mind what way it goes. But I would prefer not selling/buying everything.

Unga Bunga has been changed to get all the books, with Vitality and the two lesser Engineering options removed. Kept the major Engineering one because people seem to want more Engineering stuff

The notable thing is that Unga Bunga is the plan that gets all the books.

At this rate we're going to be the only Runelord in Kraka Drakk who doesn't know MVitality but also doesn't care cause mounstainsouled laughs at MVitality.

Okay, I'm not a dedicated reader of the thread, so apologies if this topic has been beaten to death.

Is there any particular reason not to have every Runelore trade be a maximum exchange, so as to improve the general capabilities of Runesmiths as a whole?

The author's been dropping unsubtle hints for a while now that if Snorri rocks the boat too much, other runelords are going to move to censure him. Rune trades figure into this because by convention, he's supposed to be secretive and only trade away his best shit to people who have proven to an insanely high standard that they're skilled enough to handle it. Giving a comparatively young runelord access to superpowered runes like unyielding looks profligate and might, taken cumulatively with all the other convention-breaking stuff Snorri gets up to, eventually be enough for others to take disciplinary action against him. Then there may be other considerations in the same vein; Snorri's got a very visible project involving the rune of prosthesis that may or may not be breaking the rules already, depending on how you interpret them, so if he gives the rune away to someone else and they piggyback (or appear to piggyback) on his prosthetics scheme, he's on the hook for what they do with it as well.

Of course, within those limits ppl will be pushing to get the absolute max they figure they can get away with. The trade before this one saw the thread getting a new "the road to hell is paved in shinies" tag, and given subsequent behaviour I think there's pretty good odds the other shoe will be dropping eventually lol

Ooc. They are indeed trading. Though the criteria of each Runesmith/lord and the amount theyre willing to give differs based on personality.

This is a period of openess, relatively speaking, where the dwarfs arent as hesitant to interact with others from a position of trust*. They havent been burned by the War of Vengeance nor suffered the Time of Woes.

*or about as trusting as a dwarf can get with a stranger.
Could you please add that to the FAQ? Seems likely to be a sticking point.

people other than the OP can add tags, you know. Aside from the whole rune of prosthesis thing, I think we're fine.
