[X] Good Mourning Major Clans
Wordcount: 292

Clear these ideas with the clan.
  1. Goketsu
    1. Convince the clan to let us go mourn with other clans personally.
    2. Hazou's usually been good about handling mournings.
    3. Besides, as a friend, Hazou owes them a visit.
  2. Estate
    1. Harden critical locations.
    2. Continue expanding and improving living space.
    3. Recruitment
      1. Top priority is unaffiliated/liason ninja.
        1. Soft-sell: We have goodies for friends, and obscenely good stuff for trustworthy adoptees.
      2. Aides
        1. Look for:
          1. Loyalty
          2. Competence.
        2. Consider searching among civilians.
    4. Establish free Goketsu school.
      1. General academics track (reading, writing, math)
        1. Open to everybody, ninja and civilian.
          1. Hire good civilian teachers for this track.
      2. Basic Ninja Track (basic tai, nin, genjutsu)
        1. Open to Academy students
          1. Hire retired and offduty ninja.
      3. Establish Hazou office hours where he teaches willing ninja.
        1. Gently encourage other clan members to follow suit.
    5. Keep making the rounds - get to everybody at least once.
    6. Continue preparing for Merchant Council ideas like the storage seal bank.
    7. Begin setting foundations for a chakra beast farm - well away from housing expansion zones.
    8. Check up on the international merchant network.
  3. Clans
    1. Do what we've always done with mourning. It's worked out pretty well.
      1. Ask what we can do to support each other.
    2. Try to get some time in with everybody, but the priority list:
      1. Yamanaka/Nara
      2. Hyuuga/Akimichi
      3. Hagoromo/Amori/Kyosho/Aburame
    3. Petition to allow Kagome to work from home/better working conditions for sealmasters.
      1. Sealmasters under crushingly stressful situations have a higher risk of seal failure, which the village cannot afford.
  4. Personal
    1. Investigate Jiraiya's Leaf safehouses with Akane/Kagome. Consider visiting stashes near Leaf as well.
    2. Have dinner with Snake. Work with Mari on cultivating her as a resource.
      • We want to make Snake a well-placed, loyal asset and possible adoption target.
    3. Practice Calligraphy with the Iron Nerve off.

Here's a telegraphic-ish plan; I'll see how far ahead of my schoolwork I get today to flesh this out, but in broad terms the goal of this plan is:

A) convince Goketsu to let us do the mourning thing (we've had some pretty good success with that)
B) continue Goketsu projects and start the Goketsu University project
C) show up in person for Shikamaru and Yamanaka and Hinata and Hagoromo and Amori and generally everyone
D) ask what we can do for each other.
Edited, though I suspect this is going to end with a lot of things off-screened.

Why ? Kagome all ready showed that it worked with Honoka. Jiraiya had her checked out by the medical staff.
Well see the thing is that

A) future potential ninja(and children in general) are an extremely important asset and making sure they're cultivated properly is very important

B) chakra manipulation is treated with a ton of care because overdoing it can kill the user and judging by Jiraiya's reaction it's a touchy subject

Generally in a study you need multiple test subjects over a long period of time to prove your case. Honoka is one person, and it hasn't been more than a few month to a year at most. Nobody in their right mind would take that to mean Kagome's methods work and just go along with it, risking Leaf's potential future firepower on a radical change to the curriculum with little proof it will work for the majority.

On the other hand, Tsunade is a legendary hero and multi-war veteran worshipped by the entire village. She's also recognized as the greatest mednin in the world, so when it comes to anything medical related her word is practically fact to most.

Kagome's progress with Honoka is heartening but could just be written off as a case of budding genius and/or her early chakra manipulation not killing her was a fluke, but if Tsunade says it's safe that's a whole other ballgame. Nobody would ever argue with her, and it would go a long way in normalizing the practice if the world's greatest doctor/beloved hero tells you it's safe.

It's still in the preliminary stages, but I wanted to get something out sooner rather than later. Can still add more ideas if needed.

[X] Action Plan: Deja Vu
Word Count: 252

Clear everything with the clan first.
  • Keep up estate development. Expand, fortify, and improve the living conditions; improve morale...
    • Ask Keiko if her Pangolins can help with construction.
  • Go mourn with fellow clan kids/heads.
    • Hazou's usually been good about handling mournings, and he owes them a visit anyway.
    • Do what we've always done with mourning. It's worked out pretty well.
      • Ask what we can do to support each other.
    • Try to get some time in with everybody, but the priority list:
      • Yamanaka/Nara
      • Hyuuga/Akimichi
      • Hagoromo/Amori/Kyosho/Aburame
  • Ask Mari to arrange for Kagome to work from home. He's really stressed about the 'sweatshop', and stressed sealmasters lead to sealing failures (!!!).
    • Hazou's willing to chip in with scribing if Kagome approves, or he can offer Gouketsu resources as compensation/collateral.
  • Have dinner with Snake. Let Mari take the lead on cultivating her as a resource.
    • We want to make Snake a well-placed, loyal asset and possible adoption target.
  • Start a 'school'.
    • Take a walk around camp, talk to the ninjas & skilled civilians and ask if they're willing to teach. Ask for names of teachers inside Leaf who'd be interested, as well.
    • Establish some basic classes in both general skills (math, reading, writing...) and ninja training (taijutsu, weapons, tactics...).
  • Other:
    • Put Ami's suggestions to practice:
      • Carry around a journal to note your feeling and emotions.
      • Practice daily with Mari on genjustu.
    • Investigate Jiraiya's Leaf safehouses with Akane/Kagome. Consider visiting stashes near Leaf as well.
    • Make preparations for the MC-approved businesses.

What is the school for and teach who? Does it cost money to attend?

Also, plans are getting bloated in my opinion.

A collection of short, insulting poems:

Cinders

Will of fire, burning bright
On whose pyre we all alight
Those who know them only know
How eas'ly splintered do they go

Quaking

Earthen stubborness did them in
With not a wit nor chance to win
On they fought against the fright
Of Flying Thunder God's great might

Demons

Bathed in water's transient glow
Cross world's track by Oi-nin flow
Danced to the whim of 'just a kid'
Whose words bait demons to their end

    [X] Good Mourning Major Clans
    [X] Upgrade the Mini-town:
[x] Ban @Noumero from pursuing secret Lore for at least 3 Chapters.
[x] thank Keiko for being best!sister. We don't actually give her positive feedback unprompted very much.
[x] lighten Kagome's load by outsourcing some of the sealing work to ourselves or his students
    [X] Action Plan: Deja Vu

Shorter action plan, i won't be around to update it due to IRL difficulties. Feel free to nab parts of it, other plan makers.

[X] Action plan: Sealers rights and a Shonen Moment

Word count 200

Call a clan meeting, have Akane transcribe it in case Keiko can't be there.
  1. Ask Kagome if he can keep going in the sealshop for another week, maximum.
    1. Call an all clan meeting in several days, agendas being electing next Hokage (we're backing Asuma) and ensuring sealsmiths don't go insane.
      1. Proposal: Sealing is dangerous work, and sealsmiths are very valuable because of that. Overworking them in the short term could easily hurt leaf in the long term. Propose 2 days off a week, willing to be bargained down to one. No more than 12 hours a day making blanks, no more than 8 researching. Keeping our smiths alive is highest importance.
  2. Promise Kagome that even if the Sealers rights proposal falls through we'll take care of him.
    1. Try to project the feeling of determination from when Kagome and Akane got hit with the sealing failure. Mix it with what we felt when meeting the God of Shinobi:
      1. Intent: Kagome is family. We will go Pretty Damn Far to protect him, he needs to know that.
      2. Sub-Intent: we're going to make the world a better place. Anyone who works towards that goal is welcome in our world, and thus our aura.

I suggest trimming down the plan and refocus. Remember, we took points off the table during the SIN arc because we had too many things on our TODO list.

Also, it's not clear what's going on with the school WRT ninja. Are we looking to take over? Supplement? This is potentially a political flashpoint.

@faflec same issue with ninja school as well.

So, Akane now has 30 CR and 20 EM. She can increase or decrease the temperature of an area by 100 degrees C. That means in the summer she can hit around 130 degrees C and during winter around -90 degrees C. Anyone with expertise in such wanna say if it's possible to fight in such conditions effectively, and if yes, then how much hotter/colder things would have to be?

First thought: We need to do extreme temperature training.

Or rather: we now have access to training modalities that wasn't possible before or much more feasible than it was before.

I would want to experiment with hot and cold and see how they effect fatigue recovery. Work on adding cold and hot acclimation so that we can fight effectively at those temperature.

Putting together a list of all remaining known Leaf Jounin for @eaglejarl if there are any that I've missed let me know
  • Tsunade
  • Orochimaru
  • Mari
  • Asuma
  • Chouza
  • Kurenia
  • Minori
  • Ebisu
  • Anko
  • Kabuto
  • Ibiki
  • Snake

To planmakers, I am likely to vote for plans that do not have a long timeskip (assuming I wake up on time).

I'm also a bit worried about plan bloat at this point, but much can be off-screened, and EJ can pick and choose what he wants and it's below word limit, so it's probably okay?

So if I'm reading this right, the hot one would be over waters boiling point, so unless people work very different in MFD, fighting (and living) aren't an option, and even passing through would be be problematic. -90 is Cold. I've been in -40, with both full clothing layers and less than advised. In less than a minute not fully bundled, I was shaking and my hands were going numb, and I'm fairly cold resistance and from Canada. I could have fought, but with harsh penalties and extra stacked damage. Dressed in summer clothing and 50 degrees cooler than that? If they can move and perform Jutsu I'd be quite surprised, barring something like interactions with a flame aura (which seems like it's Definitely worth testing progressively).

Do we even have the money to open and maintain a school? Kind of confused about our actual finances.
At this point, I'm not worrying about your money unless you do something egregious. Maybe you shouldn't have this much cash on hand, but I refuse to start being an accountant with my supposed-to-be-fun time. Give it two weeks or a month of heavy spending and no income and we'll talk, but that's likely not an issue.

I'm sorry @Noumero, but sometimes you have to betray people in order to save them.

I think this is the most useful kind of QM feedback. Nobody wants to actually do accounting to participate in the quest (well, some degenerates wanted to write an actual research proposal, so it's possible in principle, I suppose), and this kind of broad rule should be enough as long as we don't try to game it. Which we won't. You just need to let us know when whatever we're doing is close to crossing the line, and I think we'll all be happy.
