Although given that they live in a world where honeypot assassins are apparently common, being prepared to react to romantic overtures with explosives isn't completely nutty.

I guarantee you those bug-control bloodline people study agriculture. They control bugs. A world where they aren't at least smart enough to leverage this into selective breeding crops and analyzing the results is one where they aren't smart enough to have not already been wiped out by the others. They're probably halfway to chakra cabbages that fly and attack in swarms like in Konasuba, or chakra grass that works like Nobiru's barrel by having the grasshoppers eat it and then return the energy to their body.

Should we tell Sasuke he's distantly related to Hazou? Maybe he'd appreciate whatever distant family ties he has left? Or is it a bad idea for some reason I'm not thinking of? (There is the opsec thing about Hazou's bloodline if it comes up, but I'm not sure if there's any reason to keep that from Sasuke.)

I'm not sure if Sasuke would get along with Team Gai, although it depends on how diverged he is from canon. I don't think we've seen him on screen in MfD, and Naruto is really different.

What do we want to talk to Ino about?

Yeah, it's suitable for a rational Konoha to not blame Naruto for the demon existing. It does make a pretty big difference in Naruto's situation/personality though, representing a big step away from the isolated brash kid that he started out as in canon.

Maybe the Toads aren't part of the 'Seven Great Clans'? Getting access to the Academy could allow us to find evidence that High command is misinterpreting the Sage teaching?

* Inquire where one would buy a telescope in Konohagakure. If the price doesn't break our budget. Buy it.
* Do training and fill out our seal loadout as usual.
* Schedule time to work on skytower seals so that Kagome doesn't have to save Hazō's ass like last time.

  • Research
    • Casino Seals
      • We're trying to eventually fine tune these into decent chakra detecting seals.
    • Extra Large Storage Seals
      • Most of Hazou's seals use storage seals as a base. Bigger is better!
  • The two(3?) of them go out to get ramen afterwards.
    • That Ichiraku Ramen place looks good...
Training from Hell
  • Team Uplift delivers the game night invitations
    • The ground is lava!
      • They must chakra adhere to other surfaces or bounce off of clones/themselves/use jutsu to avoid touching the ground.
    • Deliver Lee's first. Ask him if he wants to join in.
    • They do a couple laps around Leaf afterwards. Youth!
  • Once everyone but Kakashi has been invited the Team try to track Kakashi down to give him an invite.
    • Check his house, favorite haunts (ask Gai), etc.
    • The ground is still lava.
Family Game Night

  • Invite:
    • Nakano
      • He can bring his Genin squad if he wants.
      • He does not have to bring anything, really.
    • Team Gai (Including Gai)
    • Kakashi
      • When he inevitably refuses, challenge him to a cookie bake off in a few days.
  • Good natured fun.
Misc:
  • Refill our seal loadouts.
  • Make explosive tags and 5SB's.

That went really well. Hazou was stubborn, as expected, and he did break down a little when he finally realized it was really happening, but he didn't lash out, didn't physically or emotionally hurt anyone around him, and the people around him took his breakdown in stride and guided him to a mindset where things won't get any worse.

The only remaining way this could go wrong is if Hazou reacts badly when he next meets Akane, demanding to know why she didn't tell him or avoiding her entirely, but I feel like Hazou, given a day or two to process, could resume interaction with Akane mostly functionally, and that would make this whole operation an unmitigated success in my eyes.

I feel like this could be the start of some sort of epic amnesiac escapade with Jiraiya like the 'A Night To Remember' quest in Skyrim. Gods only know what two drunken sealmasters (one of them the Hokage) would get up to. While horrifying it could be an entertaining read, so I'm tempted.

* Observing a kite as inspiration for the glider project idea.
* Work on that math textbook. Might or might not be useful to sealing.
