On Thread Etiquette:

I'm not going to weigh in on the logic of either side's arguments, but I will ask that everyone read over what they write and really consider if the words they used are polite and won't be inflammatory intentionally or not. You cant account for people's tolerances perfectly but at least try to say your piece without saying things that can be easily construed as overly dismissive of the other side of the argument, thank you.

Please endeavour to be cordial. :^)

I want him to finish Master Rune of Windsight first before releasing the normal Rune of Windsight to everyone else!

"Snorrisdottir!" The High King/Eldest shouts down at Caretaker/Mother, "A fine showing from your drakk! But It won't do for the Son of Grungni to get shown up by my subjects so easily though! Thronebearers, keep my seat warm for me now!"

He stands up from his seat, hammer and Axe/Doom/Death in each hand.

"Keep up if you can!"

Azyr coils around the Dwarf like a cloak, and with a shout he raises his weapon skyward, disppearing in a bolt of thunder.
Snorri Whitebeard only did that begrudgingly OTL, even years or decades from now in the final battle against Chaos after the Great Catastrophe. I guess the Brana, in particular the King of the Skies whose heart he held, helped change his perspective.

I was thinking the fate issue was because dwarves are just materialistic or practical for something as esoteric as that. That and living underground probably doesn't help one connect to the wind of heavens.
I don't think so. Gazul's sword was all about cutting fate and the happening tree is the fate research tree. There's canon runes of fate as well. I think it's as you said and it's just hard for them to get their heads around it so it's hard to get a rune that works properly.

Vragni: HRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRNNNNGHHH *pop*
and lo, Vragni was now known as a Minor Ancestor God of Petty Spite and Coattail Chasing in the Far North
No worse Vragni will also become a minor ancestor god to make sure Klauson don't put dumb ideas on the heads of the beardlings.
Oh man, what does it make Vragni then? The Ancestor God of Rivary? Future is looking
Minor Ancestor God of Productive Spite and Stubbornness.

Just had a thought. Even if the Rune or Windsight doesn't allow us to see within the runes, it will still let us see how it absorbs or emits or influences the winds of magic to create its effect. With that in , and some fiddling around with the form of the rune, we can effectively develope ways for the runes to act more efficiently, or give them more specificity.

That'd probably be a major step forward in runesmithing by itself.

And kinda upsetting, but Vragni, with his massive library of similar but not same runes would probably be one of those to benefit the most and make the most progress in understanding the indirect effect of runes. Probably even more than Snorri.

Funny as this is I don't think spite or generosity for that matter can be domains you can be an Ancestor God of. I mean think about the big ones Mining, War, Warding, these are all practical things that dwarfs do, that they did best. That is why I still think Alchemy is our best bet, because not only is it a new field of study, but it is one dwarfs are very well suited for, being the manipulation of magic that is already bound to matter and that sinergizes very well with existing dwarf needs, that is the needs of runemiths for better reagents, in the same way say engineering synergies well with skilled smithing and smelting.

Have guns started existing yet? When did the Dwarfs create guns?
According to the wiki Dwarves won't invent gunpowder for a few thousand years. But the Sky Titans(Precursors to Giants) probably have it now. So if the dwarves meet them (*Before the ogres eat or enslave most of them) and get good relations, firearms will likely be in dwarven hands soon after (by dwarven standards.)

And if we don't meet the Sky Titans and get off to a good relationship, what could happen is Akazit people could invent Aqshy-infused magical powders or other magical forms of explosive powder for use.

I don't think it's Azyr specifically because lots of runes use Azyr. It's just impossible for the windsight rune to add in fate reading because of the complexity and likely Snorri himself not understanding it very well. ESP pt 2 likely needs progress down the fate tree to add it in.

I suspect that we'd need to progress down the Happening of Things chain and develop a refined Rune of Fate, then hope that Fate, Windsight, and Forged Eye form a combo we can then compress.

"in the year 2580 (-420 I.C.) the capital of Karaz-a-Karak is shaken by explosions as Dwarf engineers and alchemists have discovered gunpowder. Dwarfs start making cannons and handguns afterwards."

*don't remember where I got the quote from so take it with a grain of salt.

So there was 420 years of playing around with gunpowder (for the Dwarfs) before the Battle of Blackfire pass where Sigmar reigned supreme.

It would be interesting to improve further the windsight before the next Conclave so we can start a streak of huge reveal at each Conclave.

Personally I am so happy to see our dragon daughter doing so well on the battlefield. Like I wonder how the Firmir view her showing up. Like how could they have expected an Armored Shard Dragon with caster levels?

Actually I can imagine that the Firmir negaquest playerbase are panicking right now due to not expecting the amount of stuff we have been throwing at them.

*Leandra voice*

The archetypal myth of sibling rival gods, found in many cultures around the world, manifested itself in Norsca in a typically Dawi fashion. Confronted with the question of innovation versus tradition in runesmithing, these competing schools of thought were eventually combined with more primitive legends to form the supposed rival paradigms of Norscan tradition, Vragni Svaltisson, and Norscan innovation, Snorri Klausson. The major runic guilds of the North claim that these figures and others had founded their institutions, but no evidence exists that these figures were even real Dawi, let alone that they had such influence as to single-handedly establish guild traditions. It is far more likely that the guilds evolved out of more primitive clan organizations and then retroactively crafted mythologies to enhance their prestige in ancestor-obsessed Dawi society.

(Also it should be spelled Leandre, I know I misspelled it earlier too)

Fun update! I kinda want to ask snerra and fjolla to figure out how to put rune of windsight on a lens rather than prosthetic eye, they've got the expertise.
