On Thread Etiquette:

I'm not going to weigh in on the logic of either side's arguments, but I will ask that everyone read over what they write and really consider if the words they used are polite and won't be inflammatory intentionally or not. You cant account for people's tolerances perfectly but at least try to say your piece without saying things that can be easily construed as overly dismissive of the other side of the argument, thank you.

Please endeavour to be cordial. :^)

[ ]Glumi: The old ranger walking over, his cowl covering everything save his beard in shadow. At your nod the elder simply sits down on the log to your right and pulls out his own tankard before putting it underneath the spigot on your keg.

Not all things revolve around runes.

By the way @Soul cake I assume once again our loot rolls exploded themselves?

Still....mystery ranger or Runelord and company? That SEEMS to be an easy decision, but that Ranger is an Elder to us by centuries, and he never gave us his home hold or clan name, so I'm skeptical.
Loot rolls have not been kind since pt 1 yes. You even had a bonus cuz of Grimnir and it still wasnt enough to get you over 30 or 40.

You glare up at the heavens once more, staring at the dark clouds that cover the air in an ever-thickening blanket that now smothers the stars. You've been getting less and less sun by the day, something that every dwarf here can and has noticed but not let affect them overly much.
More ominous warnings of oncoming doom.
AN: real short, but not much here to say, Only so much I can wax poetic about Grimnir killing everything and using the Throng under him like a symphony under Beethoven. Thanks for reading, don't forget to C&C. :^)
No fair, we didn't watch Grimnir arm wrestle ten Bloodthirsters. :V

Dice Gods giveth and they taketh. At least, we can focus on the research stuff we already got queued up.
Brokk's gonna get an affinity for griffons if he keeps this up.
I wouldn't mind Griffon riding Dawi. Tossing hammers of thunder and wrath.

I think Soul will be quite confused :)

@soulcake just to clarify grand throng is done, this is just the final chat with maybe Grimnir sniffin the adamantium lump and declaring it crap to go?
One more interlude turn, just a final chance to do some rolls but also decide on King Stonehammer's comission. :^)

Also you don't have the adamantium with you, thats stuck in your private workshop. If you had developed a method of making it reliably you personally would, not show it off, but be less cagey than you are. It's like showing off an unfinished piece of work and being proud of it in your mind. Madness really.

Can you imagine what the Winds of Magic must be like with Grimnir and a small army of runelords and runesmiths on the field? Daemons might not have instability in general, but it could well be a problem in the presence of something like the Grand Throng. Probably rather hard to cast spells too.

Curses no ancestor interaction.

Ah well at least we can grumble at the beardlings about the Warrior King :)

The night passes with little fanfare, you get up around midnight and bid the Elder a good watch and head off to your sleeping arrangements. As you walk away you pause, realizing you've forgotten your mug and turn back around to the fire.

Only to find your mug sitting on a log, the Ranger missing, only the stick he used to prod at the fire, his footsteps leading off into the dark. The only evidence showing he was there at all and not a hallucination or some other bit of foolishness.

Shrugging, pick up your mug and head off towards your tent. You looking back once, only to see another ranger coming over, seemingly to take up the Elder's now finished watch.

Bit odd, but maybe he was humouring you for company. Who's to say what runs through the mind of your elders?
Either the old ranger was very sneaky or there's something else going on here.
No fair, we didn't watch Grimnir arm wrestle ten Bloodthirsters.
Of course not. Grimnir put each one over his knee and spanked them for being such poor excuses for combatants. And before he beheaded them, he warned the daemons that the next time they show up; they had better be at least semi-interesting fights or he's not going to be nearly this nice.

Well, I'm particularly pleased that Karka Drak had such a good showing in the Grand Throng, it will make diplomacy with the southern holds easier and make a positive impression that the Northern Holds are valuable.

Hmm, choice between known runesmiths or a mystery box with the mysterious Ranger. I'm pretty sure there's something special about the ranger, but I don't know really, at a guess he'd give us somewhere to explore, or is in fact a weird thing from being so far north (dunno what that could be though) if I were to go full conspiracy theory he's an ancestor god in disguise :p (seriously though, I think I'm drawn to him because mystery box, to figure out what his whole deal is)

Krarak Drakk verse must be entirely smug these days, I mean those rolls are insane for a campaign like this...(with the bonuses I mean), but our boy has consistently kept outdoing the throng by a good bit.

Would Kraggi be brining another member of the Brotherhood to vouch for Snorri I wonder? And then there's the whole mystery behind the ranger.

Jordis the Tide Turner, a Runelord who's famed for her Banner Runes, seen in the armouries of many kings and born aloft by their greatest champions.
