On Thread Etiquette:

I'm not going to weigh in on the logic of either side's arguments, but I will ask that everyone read over what they write and really consider if the words they used are polite and won't be inflammatory intentionally or not. You cant account for people's tolerances perfectly but at least try to say your piece without saying things that can be easily construed as overly dismissive of the other side of the argument, thank you.

Please endeavour to be cordial. :^)

Oh nice the chimera's are loot bags.

I have no preference on the runes, other than rune of tin because I want to know how that malleability affects adamant. I definitely want to take the armor specialty in the hope she can one day do rune compressions for us.

We should have Karstath get the Gronti lessons, if only because she is likely going to be the designer of the Dragon Gronti because she was the one who proposed it in the first place.

Also, the Gronti trait is the last trait she has missing from her quest to inherit Snorri's mantle.

Yeh also no way wwre not gonna gave snorri and kartah put all their actions on builsing the gronti considering how big it is and we want as mucg overflow as possible for it.

Nah, she'll likely get the gronti trait when we dump all her actions on it. It won't really make a difference on the designing since it'll still only be 1ap on that step. Upgrading specialties is a lot rarer and the only one that we can't brute force through tbh.

her fellow apprentices to a dinner in her home.

:O

SWEET MERCIFUL VALAYA!

We shall finally be able to witness the secret Lamb Glaze-

You and Karstah arrive with a pot of properly made Troll Stew

:|

Because you didn't know the full consequences of what fully realized Windsight may do to the user, by Valaya's bosom you still weren't sure whether your use of the eye was doing something to you. A Runesmith did not play with uncertainties if they could help it, and here you were frolicking in it like a goat in spring.

Frolic all you want Snorri, as they say; the goat that frolics the most wins!

[Mid 468] Nain's made a fine hammer for King Gloin, a gift to his nephew the King of Karak Ungor. The name itself isn't the most inspiring thing, [T4] Dalgrund, but Nain's taken to beauty in simplicity. In that vein the aesthetics focus more on accentuating a few key parts by remaining rather austere elsewhere. A strong Wutroth haft accented with silver at the butt and along the sides, most of the decoration has been reserved for the Hammer's head where the image of Grungni The hammer bears the Master Rune of Grungni, Rune of Speed and Rune of Echoblow.
If only Nain had a few bars of Adamant to use in this.…

@soulcake, any thought to including a vote on an apprentice adamant allowance next turn?

Claiming you would pout as well.

The nerve!

Improving the Rune of Windsight likely wasn't going to come from using some fancy bugger's eye as a reagent. Or well, not just slapping some sorcerous bugger's eye as a reagent.
Partial validation.
- New Rune understood! Master Rune of Grimnir!
-- ??? [5/6] > Wisdom with Weapons [0/6] Every 3 research actions used for Weapon Runes add 1 extra progress.
There are so many ???'s being procced I don't know whats what.
I'm not even sure where some of this stuff came from, I guess the helmet must have been the Ablion one but did we vote to research it?

Yeah I... have a confession to make I would not make a good dwarf. :V

My first thought on reading Snori would not get the runes was: 'OK but what if she made new runes building on those and shared those with Snori?'

That is probably the wrong way to go about this, for a variety of reasons even if it is technically workable. We should choose whatever we see Karstah actually making use of.
As long as they're clearly iterated and developed on enough that they're obviously distinct runes, yeah of course thats fine.
It would involve putting in R&D effort of course.

For the Karsta Runes, I don't have any big opinions on the others, but I have to vote for the Rune of Shifting Steel, because it sounds like it'll let Karstah build RWBY weapons and that's awesome.

Throw in the Rune of Stonemass so her weapons are heavier for others, and she becomes kinda like Chevalier from Worm.

Those runes are so tasty, but we don't get it. Still, Karstah is getting the respect she deserves. Nain is working on his biggest project and making his mark on the Hold. I'm actually a little curious what our first apprentices are doing, like what is Dolgi's child count up to

Not really. Look at the trait break down and you see you have way more meat on yours. Name's just the same because I can't be bothered to have a new name every time it upgrades. I only do it at certain points.
When it cames to naming convention, one can always fall back to tiers
Simply Stating that Snori is 'Master of the Odd II' would suffice for most.

Or the rune for mealiable metal and metalurgy to make her into an actuall metal bender?
RWBY weapons are a wonder too. Engeniers would salivate over the idea
Speaking of. Yay for guild commisions. wonder who's next.
Mayby the Metal Grand Guild?

I dont know why, but something about this sentence fills me with dread.
The Age of Woe began with Grand earthquake that shook all of Karaz Ankor...
Exept Far North, Snorri Klausson told the earth to keep it quiet. Earth did so.

We just got started on progressing through the Windsight line, and already I'm salivating for more progress. Hopefully we can finish the first part soon enough.

Okay, this has me worried because I just remembered that magic and dwarves don't mix. At all. Should we have a Valaya Priestess check if Snorris eye socket is turning to stone?

Rather than an adamant allowance, just offer a void stone to each of them who doesn't have a smelter so they can make their own. It's more dwarfy to make them build it themselves outside a special request project

I'd be more up for that yeah. Adamant allowance is fine (to a point), but giving them ways to build smelters makes more sense.
