On Thread Etiquette:

I'm not going to weigh in on the logic of either side's arguments, but I will ask that everyone read over what they write and really consider if the words they used are polite and won't be inflammatory intentionally or not. You cant account for people's tolerances perfectly but at least try to say your piece without saying things that can be easily construed as overly dismissive of the other side of the argument, thank you.

Please endeavour to be cordial. :^)

[X] No: You don't have the intimate knowledge or know how to lead a throng. Leave this to the thanes to sort out. The Eldest Thane of the hold will lead the Throng.
[X] Vanguard: You will be at the forefront of the battle. A powerful symbol to rally around and where you can deal the most punishment. You'll be focused solely on murder blending your way forward like only a heavily armoured Dwarf with a Grudge can.

[X] Yes: By tradition, you would be the ranking lord, in charge of leading these stout dwarfs in battle. It is not one you will shirk.
[X] Centre: From here you can cast protective or offensive runes with greater ease but also be ready to serve as rapid reinforcement to the frontlines. You won't know what's happening with the battle everywhere as accurately.

Do not mess with a dwarf's tradition. Alsowe are the best runelord available right now, we need to do rune lord things

No more lives should be lost from our inexperience and negligence.

also talk to and ask others for advice and tips on the way there and before we leave like all great leaders should

we are gonna need a army of them as the dwarfs biggest weakness is there low birth rate
I mean, in the extreme long-term, yeah, but in terms of the Time of Woes, their biggest weakness was the fact that they weren't prepared for the Underway to be shattered.

In terms of the War of Vengeance... I'm not sure they had any particular weakness there. I suppose the fact that the Hill Dwarfs were vulnerable, but no Karak was ever taken during the WoV. The Dwarfs gave as good as they got throughout the whole thing.

By the way, in regards to the Karak still needing to decide on who it's King is gonna be, is there any precedent for a Runelord becoming a King, since we already meet the criteria for leader of the throng and all?

What I really want to know is how the dwarves managed to counter the elves armies of dragons and archmages.
From what I understand, lots of BS-tier runic magic, weapons, golems etc that the elves couldn't just no-sell.

That would gnaw into our available time so much it's not even funny.

Depending on the source, they didn't. But the elves ground themselves against the main Karaks and weakened themselves enough.

Plus, Dwarves are all about anti-magic. Based on their runes in the army book they explicitly developed tunes to take down dragons more effectively.

Plus, Ulthuan may have recovered and even prospered, but they'd still lost most of Nagarythe and many elves in the civil war centuries earlier, putting them on a malus for population growth. Eventually, the Dwarves were able to meet the full armies of the Asur on open field and defeat them, and then the war ended because the Asur couldn't fight a conflict on two fronts against the Dwarves and the Dark Elves/
