I had a thought: some of the incoming refugees might have the same inclinations as Nadia. Girls that have wanderlust, not willing put down roots in Mitakihara (or nearby).

I wonder if we can form a traveling meguca team, one that's possibly led by Nadia (if she's willing and able)? Nadia's a capable meguca but there's always safety in numbers, and more would dare to ambush a powerful solo meguca even like her once word gets out that she's carrying a clear seed.

It's primary purpose would be to continue what Nadia's doing (HUMINT/PR), but in times of emergency they can also be the first responders to any local disasters before calling us in.
Unfortunately in the environment of the world at large, a wandering team will likely meet with a far less friendly reception due to pure wariness of a potential threat.

"There's been... an image burned into my mind, from the very start," you say thoughtfully. "Of me. Alone, wandering the universe, and... someone asking me if I didn't want to stop, whether I didn't want to settle down with my friends. With everyone else. And there... I said no. It was a success. Everyone else was happy, and I would continue my job, my mission. Sad, but... everyone was happy. That's all I could ask for."

"That's not-" Mami pulls back from the hug, something like horror stealing across her gaze. "That's not right."

After all, it's more or less the same as what Mami went through.

Hmmm.

Hmmmmm.

[x] Relax for the rest of the night
- [x] Homework for Mami!
- [x] Enchanting practice for yourself?
-- [x] Keep trying to make something that can contain grief outside of your direct control range.
- [x] Ask about Mami's enchantment for the pendant

[x] Breakfast with Mami
- [x] Good morning Mitakihara!
-- [x] You want to contact some other Japanese meguca groups. Fukushima and the University Group might have some useful info.

[x] Call up Nagisa, it's been a while!

[x] Go shopping with Homura in the morning!

"All of the above" seems fine to me. :p

I...

Hm.

Part of me wants to build a magic booster and have Mami try a full-body clone with it. Applications are obvious.

Apart from that...

[X] If Mami seems down about the two of us parting ways for the day, kiss her. She's not leaving you and you're not leaving her.

[x] Go shopping with Homura in the morning!

Is this the first time we got an important conversation with Mami that goesn't go downhill before going uphill? It's nice.

Vote Kaizuki for Mami things!

I swear, I'm starting to develop a twitch every time I see Sabrina talk about how she's here to fix things. It comes up constantly in her narrative. It's become an obession, and if you remove her from the context that she's an avatar for the thread and treat her like a real character, increadibly concerning.

Watch out world, Sabrina is gonna fix you. It's why she's here. To fix things. Because Sabrina has to fix stuff, or her life has no justification. If she can't fix everyone and everything, she's failed her purpose. It's why she was made. To fix everything.

This is not a healthy mindset.

I mean... this is literally true?

And things in PMMM are really, really shitty, so yeah, they do need to be fixed.

And it's not like it's a completely unpleasant thing either. For all the bad parts, it's been pretty fun. Also, it feels pretty great helping people. Especially when things are so terrible for them. I barely even see it as a mission, tbh. Calling it that feels too impersonal.

Years ago, i did say how i equated Sabrina and Mami to my signifiant other and me. Damage, neuroses, hugs and all.

Now, the only difference is that i have been with her for years, while Sabrina and Mami have only been together for a few days/weeks.

I think part of the entire talk we just had was about how we've moved beyond that mindset, how we live for more than just that now.
