Sabrina: [Calls Kures] Kirka? Hug Oriko
Kirika: ... I already am?
Sabrina: HUG HARDER DAMN IT

>Ten minutes later<
[Sabrina answers phone]
Oriko: ... Kirika won't let me go, what did you tell her?
Sabrina: ... nothing.... thought you needed some hugs.
You mean we don't have to ascend to godhood before doing this?! :o We've been playing this quest wrong the entire time! Do over!

[Q] "Kirika! You need to hug Oriko hard enough her surname actually changes to Kure!

"O-oh... OK! Wait. Is that how it works?"

"... Yes."

*Glomp*

"Why do I feel my very own name just changed for the sake of a dumb joke?"

I swear, I'm starting to develop a twitch every time I see Sabrina talk about how she's here to fix things. It comes up constantly in her narrative. It's become an obession, and if you remove her from the context that she's an avatar for the thread and treat her like a real character, increadibly concerning.

Watch out world, Sabrina is gonna fix you. It's why she's here. To fix things. Because Sabrina has to fix stuff, or her life has no justification. If she can't fix everyone and everything, she's failed her purpose. It's why she was made. To fix everything.

This is not a healthy mindset.

Of course it's not a healthy mindset. But that's... actually why I find her character interesting and compelling? Precisely because she's caught in the tension between (her literal role in the narrative, her raison d'etre, her deeply felt moral concerns and unflinching standards) and (her limitations and needs both as a character and as a human being).

She's an exaggerated character, implausibly noble and determined and powerful, but I feel like (especially with Sabrina's character development and growth as a person) the story is mature enough to show how that means she's exaggeratedly flawed, too. Taking care of yourself without compromising on what you believe in is really, really hard, and if this story weren't a quest, that would probably be more central to Sabrina's character arc than it already is.

This. All of this. It is absolutely in parts a character flaw and virtue, and that is precisely why it came up here in the way it did.

Now... I have to ask.

THREAD OF PMAS!

DO YE WANT...

MOAR FLUFF!!?!?

This cat is equipped with a fluff fusion reactor. We can go farther.

Time to take a page from LiLaL.

Wait, hold on. I just remembered something really important right now.

We still haven't gotten back at Sayaka for startling us the morning after the sleepover.:V
Oh shit. :o

I forgot we were at war!

We need a plan of attack.

A) Wake her up with "GOOD MORNING, MITAKIHARA SAYAKA" five minutes before she would wake up on her own.
B) Abuse Senpai position to make Sayaka's life hell in a way that would help her in the end.
C) Apply increased amounts of hugs and calling Sayaka 'my cute little Kouhai' and bake her (and everyone) treats.
D) Make peace, not war.

Now now, it's been a looooooooooooooooong time but last time we made any shippy jokes with Sayaka Mami looked like she was about ready to pick Sabrina up and take her home out of jealousy, let's not risk it.

The obvious solution is to get Mami in on it and make Mami the nicest, most decorated, fluffiest of whatever we bake.

Plus, in the scenario that we pull Mami into our side of the conflict, Sayaka will be forced to call for reinforcement, too. Which would either advance our shipping plans if she picks Kyouko as an ally, or be utterly hilarious if she tried to get help from Homura.

That's fair. A wandering team would look like a raid to a typical meguca group. Maybe pairs instead? Just solo wandering girls carrying clear seeds just seem unwise.

Wait, are you suggesting that we instantiate a system by which we provision and send out pairs of meguca who:
  • Are carrying a message of peace
  • Seek to spread the good word news of our existence
  • Go door to door between other meguca groups
  • Invite people to join us
  • Are probably rather snappy dressers
...I can't see ANYONE forming negative associations with this AT ALL! :p
