before Oriko even... noticed me
Long is the way and hard, before Oujo-sempai notices you.
You smile at your friends. You can see yourself facing Walpurgisnacht with them. And you can see yourself winning. It might be an easy fight. It might not be. Certainly, your powers are nearly... tailored to fighting Witches, to murdering them with impunity. But, well. Walpurgisnacht is in a class of its own, after all.
Is that really the case?
Time Stop + Unlimited Cleansing = Cheat Haxxor Walugipwn? I think it does. Worst-case scenario, you can just go round Japan stealing all the dakka and shooting at it as much as you want with short intervals to drop in and out, and that's not even accounting for Sabrina's powers. Time stop is really hard to counter...
Well, I doubt things would be that easy.
Will Feathers be immune to magic or something? Gah, pointless speculations. Bad me, no Meguca hair flips for you today.
The girl eyes you for a moment, before turning back to Mami. "I see," she says, apparently discarding you from her mind. "May I leave?"
Can't Sabrina meet a
nice magical girl for a change? Without underlying emotional hiccups? No? Okay.
You know, there is one thing in PMMM-verse that is different from Real World, aside from the whole magical girl shtick, of course. Hair and eye colors. Now, in the very beginning, I shall acknowledge "Hair and eyes are in all colors of a rainbow, because anime bullshit", but can't we have an in-Universe explanation, as well? Maybe mutation as a side effect from the lasting usage of advanced technology by space aliens? I can almost convince myself... nah, should try harder than that. Was that a Wish? "Hair, rainbow hair for everyone, and let no one go away slighted!" ( that made me remember Picnic on the Roadside. Granting Wishes 40 years before Urobutcher!
)
You regret it, you think.
You think?
Well, at least it's something, SV.
Hmm. Does Sabrina self-identify as Madoka's and Homura's daughter? Or are we just trolling ourselves with that?
Of course, there is the small fact that she herself isn't completely sure. But if that's true, imagine her coming out:
H:"...
what."
M:"Sabrina-chan, um, could you please explain?"
S:"Well, you see, when two magical girls love each other very much, and the one of them is a god-like entity while the other can travel through time, there comes a moment in their lives when they do naked space hugs, and!.. Okay, I'm uncomfortable with explaining all that! It should be the other way around! Or are you telling me that you had me by accident? Maybe I'm not your daughter at all! It's true, isn't it? Mom, mom... am I adopted?"
M&H: "Uuuuuuuuuuuuuhhhhhh!.."
... Moving on.
Towards the end of the sentence, her mental voice shades towards melancholy.
Was she trying to make herself a friend? Ah, Mami, when I think that you can't possibly make me sadder, you smile that little smile of yours and plunge me even further down my depression spiral. Except I didn't have a depression, before I started reading PMCA. Hmm.
Homura sighs, nothing more than a slow breath huffed out between barely parted lips. Amethyst eyes give the back of Sayaka's head a brief stare, before Homura head tilts infinitesimally towards you, glancing at you.
Homumom is maaaaad at us!
... You know, for an alleged master manipulator, Sabrina fucks up social interactions way too often. She gives herself too much credit, the way I see it.
You know, I think I understand why Homura is so mad at Sabrina, sometimes. The first thing she said to Sayaka about being a magical girl was a ton of "the world is awful, and everyone is out for themselves, so don't go along with that love, justice, duty bullshit unless you want to die". ( I paraphrase, duh. )
She is sort of Kyouko, who even stopped giving fucks, because nobody pays attention. And when they do, they decide to break down and murder everyone. ( no, I'm not calling it Tetris, this is ridiculous. You can't make me! )
Sabrina is in direct opposition with this belief, and she doesn't even have a martyr complex to justify it. She contradicts Homura's worldview, stemmed from a lifetime of experience. Homura might be even a little bitter about it? So, part of why Homura is going along with her most of the time is that she really, really believes in Madoka. She wants to be, uh, proven wrong, I guess? That, and the whole "everything to protect my waifu" thing that got her in the time travel business in the first place.
I wonder. How much does she really feel for Sabrina as a person? "An annoying friend who means well", at least?
Ugh. This is getting me nowhere. Back to reading.
Madoka thinks the twintails make her look mature.
That's adorable.
HAIL MECHA GUREN ZILLA LAGANN.
HAIL!
