Well, I don't mean denying it. I mean not telling her. Yes she's dealing with heavier issues, but what I'm saying is that continuing to leave it unsaid is maybe not as good as we thought it was. Mami will always be dealing with heavier issues- she got stuck in a very bad system and she has more sanity-threatening revelations to go. At some point Sabs is going to have to tell her. Mami, I meant, is likely doing mental gymnastics to fool herself out of seeing the shippy things Sabrina does, and in the meantime is probably nursing her own crush. She's probably a bit torn up about it really- good chance she thinks Sabrina would never return such affections.

Here's the problem: Mami has extreme difficulty doing or saying anything that she perceives as having any potential of upsetting/annoying/disappointing Sabrina.

So let's say that Sabrina confesses to Mami--well, she's going to reciprocate those feelings, even if she isn't sure of them herself. Why? See above. Thus, consent issues.

Plus, she's in a state of emotional dependence on Sabrina right now. Sabrina is not emotionally dependent on Mami (though she's a key figure in her life). So putting any pressure on engaging in a relationship is exploitative.

Simply put, it's the recipe for an unhealthy and kinda squicky relationship, unless we wait until Mami is in a significantly better headspace. Remember Kirika's advice? "Be patient."

Personally, I think that advice would have been inherently terrible in any situation ever. I was not happy with her there. Still as you said, she dd not reaise it was a matter of life and death.

But I agree that we should improve our detection and defensive options and that other meguca should not be underestimated. Aside from the examples mentioned, we're also vulnerable to those with massive superspeed, the ability to steal our gem without their presence, those that cannot are incorporeal to our attacks, those that can remove our senses, those that can manipulate any other substance at a comparable level to our grief manipulation, those with attacks that can pass through our shields, those that can manipulate our body/clothing/etc. directly, those that can transmute or otherwise alter us or our grief, etc.

Something to indicate we understand and at least partially agree with her reasons. My first thought was just "yeah, I can see how that could end badly."

Before I go crash on my bed, I need some clarification on Sabrina's goals. The discussions I've read while binging has me confused.

Are we here to save literally everyone from Kyubey to Mami and everyone inbetween? Or are we just here to save Meguca and everyone else is just a bonus objective of sorts?

When we run out of meguca to save, we start saving normies.

QB is the enemy but if we can get him to go away that's preferable to war.

Now that you mention that, I've suddenly remembered this is a volatile topic and I should stop posting while sleep-deprived.

Please ignore my question. I was being dumb. I don't want to ruin the WAFF by influencing Sabrina's thoughts with the topic of Kyubey now that I remember a certain update long ago.

I'm saying that it's one possibility. Not that I think it's probable. It's also possible that Mami is crushing on Sabrina, but is in denial about it. Or is afraid to say anything in case Sabrina doesn't reciprocate and is driven away by it. Or simply doesn't feel ready to pursue it yet. Or it could be that Mami thinks that this is merely a platonic, if intimate, friendship. While her interactions with Sabrina do seem very romantic, it's not unheard of in Mami's culture for platonic friends to behave that way, so she might not see it as necessarily romantic. My point is that we don't know, and we don't want to risk pushing Mami into something that she doesn't want or isn't ready for.

[x] You'll use Mami's name, once you work out the issues. It is your first laser, so 'First Light' is quite fitting.
-[x] The whole thing needs work before it's ready for prime time, though. Shielding issues, dialing in a proper yield, thermal bloom... really, the setup for the attack was more like getting ready to set off a bomb rather than unleashing a directed energy weapon.
-[x] Heh. Maybe 'Finale' should be an attack that can combine with Tiro Finale. Combination attacks would be so cool.
-[x] Should you try and make a chibi? You probably won't be able to look through it like Mami can without additional effort, but a chibi is its own reward. Consult with Mami on this.
[x] Wait for Homura to get back on attending/not attending before doing 'Good Morning Mitakihara'. You don't want to put her on the spot.
