Too much for one explanation. We tell her that once's she's listening more intently.
The lichbomb is the simplest thing we need to explain, which makes it ideal for getting her to listen more intently. It takes just as much time as "more important than you know" and has the bonus of not being all cliche bullshit cryptic.

Yeah but we should lead up to something like the lichbomb. Not just run around like it's the end of soylent green yelling "Soul gems are peeeoopplleeee!"

That'd be fine, except
[X] Your soul gem is more important than you know.
is pretty much just dodging the issue so you get the chance to lead up to it more than you already did. That's the point to tell her about it. The leading up to it has happened.

As I said, the vote I have is probably a tad on the long side. Any suggestions beyond deciding to lichbomb? I'm coming up dry.

"You broke into my house." Megane twists at her bonds, trying to work her way free. "Why should I listen to the foreign meddler and her cronies?"

Mami's eyes narrow. "Sabrina is my friend."

Megane doesn't say anything, her scornful, dismissive gaze answer enough.

Actually, should we say something about this?

Maybe something similar to this? Although, I'm not sure if this is the time and if she'll listen right now.

"Every single one of us could try to work alone. And make it, even, for a year or two or ten. But we don't; we work together. I keep our Soul Gems uncorrupted, and provide us with infinite magic; Mami's saved me many times, both in combat, and even more out of it; and whenever we can't deal with a problem appropriately, we can always count on Homura to bail us out.

"Sure, each of ourselves could be pretty strong on their own, but that strenght is nothing compared to what we can achieve together. If we want to protect those who are close to us, we need to rely on each other.

"Today, I asked to postpone our meeting with little to no warning. I really needed the time for myself, to deal with the sudden emergencys, one after another, and I thought: Ono'll live. I simply thought of every matter that called for my attention in terms of lives risked, and didn't consider anything else. For that, I'm sorry. You are also part of our team. All I can say, is that if I had received word from you that you needed help, I would have made time for you.

"But that's just it. I, we need you to ask for help when you need it. Every single time we talk, I felt I couldn't trust your words...
"The life of Magical Girls isn't... easy. When we made our contracts, our lives actually got a hell of a lot harder, and dangerous, and tiring. And that's before getting into the things Kyubey doesn't tell you...

"Ono, none of us, nobody, can make it long as a Magical Girl without losing something. It's a lifestyle that's just... too much for one person. So we are not doing that. We... rely on each other.

"I made my wish so every Magical Girl around me wouldn't need for Grief Seeds, wouldn't suffer the corruption in their Soul Gems leading them into self destructive depressions, and woulnd't... die fom it. Mami and Homura, they don't need me to keep their Soul Gems clean, but it's better this way, so they ask, and I do.

"Mami... I can't count the times she's saved me. Both from my own mistakes made out of pride, ignorance, and both during fights, and even more outside of them. She looks out after us, and brings us together, as friends, something we need more than ever now.

"And Homura, I don't know where we would be without her, but while I'm sure we would be alive... I can't say the same for our friends. So many times, she's just stepped in when we couldn't do everything on our own, and gave us the opportunities we needed, to keep going, without having to lose that something, that other Magical Girls can't hold on to.

"I want to be able to include you here, as part of our team, and perhaps, as a friend, so we can count on you, and you can count on us. But for that, we need to be open with each other: We'll ask things of you, and we won't expect you to comply every time unless you're in the middle of a Grief Spiral into madness; and we'll expect you to ask things of us, even when it might seem impolite, or unimportant. We need to rely on each other, ask each other for help...
"Each of us is a strong Magical Girl on our own. Alone. We don't work alone. I keep our Soul Gems cleans; Mami looks out after us both during fights and even more outside of them; Homura just literally saves our lives and that of our friends now and then. We... rely on each other, we ask each other for help, sometimes even when it seems unnecessary, or when we simply want to have a friend at our side.

"I want you to be a part of this. To be part of our team, even to be our friend. But that can't happen if we can't trust you to ask for help. Or to simply speak your mind. Earlier today, I asked to postpone our meeting because of a sudden emergency. I was trying to balance lives on scale, and I thought: Ono'll live. For that, I am sorry... You could have refused me. If you had asked, I'd have made time for you. Every time we talk, I feel I can't trust your words, and that's simply to big of a wall in between us. We need a measure of honesty, need you to both ask us when you need something, and to refuse us when you're not fine with something we ask of you.
"Alone, we fall apart. Each of us gives something to everybody else, be it my keeping our Gems clean, Mami making sure we don't kill ourselves in fights or social meetings, or Homura literally saving our hides now and then. We work together, and we can do that because we ask each other for help. That's the most important part: Our individual skills and experiences might be useful, but it's the fact that we tell each other when we could use help that makes us strong. We rely on each other. We want to rely on you, and for you to rely on us, but we can't do that without a measure of honesty, and we definitely can't if you are literally killing yourself before letting us know you are in danger."

[x] We are not leaving until you listen.
[x] At this rate, you will run out of magic. If a magical girl runs out of magic, she dies.
[x] If your soul gem goes dark. You die.
[X] Your constant magic use is going to kill you.
[X] We have to stop that from happening.
[X] Megane, please let us help you. We don't want you to die.

No beating around the bush. I don't care if it's blunt, we need to get through to her.

So why not just tell her soul gem is her soul?

To everyone going "ugh she's a bitch, let's just let her witch out, get a grief seed for our troubles and call it a day": let me remind you that we're dealing with a scared, innocent teenage girl who has no clue what she's gotten herself into, and that we just broke into her bedroom and tied her up.

Has she been kind of a bitch over the whole "didn't meet up with me" thing? Oh, sure. She's a teenage girl with a chip on her shoulder. Does that make her deserving of a fate worse than death, forever trapped in her own ironic hell and tortured into inhumane insanity by her psyche? Eeeeeh.

On that note!

I know that I don't want Menge to die, but an attitude like her's just rubs me in all the wrong ways, I want to change that attitude so that dealing with her is less painful for all of us.

It is something that I believe works best if we lead up. Just telling her that is moving too fast, methinks. You tell them they'll die if they don't first, then drop the lichbomb. Ease 'em into it.

So, abruptly telling her that she's going to die if her soul gem is blackened is easing into it?:p

Anyway, I came up with my own vote beforehand. Muramasa's might be better. Not exactly sure.

[] Ask her why she thinks you had approached her so abruptly the day you met.
-[] It's because her gem would have filled up completely and shattered had you done nothing and just let her go. Emotional turmoil combined with overuse of magic will do that.
-[] She would have died. If her gem gets too corrupted, it will kill her. Either because it would weaken and distract her too much for a witch, or because it will fill completely breaking her soul gem.
[] If she keeps overusing her magic and her gem continues to get corrupted at this rate then she'll die. You know that she's already used up your seed. It should have lasted her far longer than this, which was why you were worried.
[] Give her some time to digest this. If she still refuses to listen or is too disbelieving then just tell her. Her soul gem is her soul.
[] Whatever she thinks, you just want to help her. We don't want her to die.

I don't mind the content but it's missing the exact same thing that the last vote didn't have: an engagement with her current state. I agree with @Onmur and @Gadjo that we need to weather her yelling. I do not think that we can talk through it.

You only have to look at the last update to see where talking at her went. She didn't care whatsoever to the contents of what we said. You won't get anywhere with this approach at the current time, until she isn't openly freaking out anymore. We have to deal with that first, be it by letting her yell and struggle until she's out of energy, or some kind of negotiation, or whatever. Then we can drop bombs.

She isn't freaking out. She's glaring. And no. At this point I don't think weathering it out is worthwhile.

Worth what? We're in timestop and she's restrained. We have very little to lose by being patient.

Struggling, shouting, and glaring is still freaking out. We can wait on that to become just glaring, and even that will lose its edge eventually. Does anything that happened last update indicate she's going to accept an explanation? She literally just said that she isn't going to believe us.

Read the situation and slow down.

We've got to work with what we have: An angry person that doesn't want to listen to us.

That means we can't inform her of anything whatsoever at this current time; we have, in fact, told her she's dying, but she's not in a state of mind to listen to anything we have to say.

My first vote tries to say things that will appeal to her current mindset: She's angry, she wants to be angry, so saying things that'd make her angrier would have an effect.

How about this, instead:

[] Squeeze Mami's shoulder in thanks.
[] To Ono: "Tell me more."
-[] Let her yell at you, try to get her to throw all her frustration at you, while you can keep an eye on her Soul Gem.
-[] Prod her along; mention how rude you've been to her, from your first meeting when you all pulled her into this gray world and bound her, then forced her to make a desicion without much of a choice; remind her how you found yourself more important things to do rather than attend your meeting, so you simple postponed it on a five-minutes notice; tell her how you really want everybody to do things your way, simply because you think it's best, and expect the same out of her.

Somewhat more understated, since I see some people don't want to be blunt about this.

This would be the less aggresive approach to leading Ono into a mindset where she will listen to us. She's angry, so what we can do is use that anger, feed it a little, let it burn through Ono's energy and will, until she's too tired to be angry. Until she can't hold on to it anymore.

Then she'll consider other ideas, but not before.
She isn't ranting right now. She's glaring. And no. At this point I don't think weathering it out is worthwhile.
I don't think we can do anything but weathering it out.

The likely thought is, how many updates are going to be passed by waiting for her to stop freaking out?
