its like she wants us to kill her. Personally I'm more insulted by the cronies remark. we are trying our damnedest to treat everyone as equals and she goes and insinuates we are like some sort of Magical Mafia that press-gangs girls into service.

hey, Firn! do we just look untrustworthy to megurcas? cause everyone so far has been cagey as fuck about talking to us.
 
I suspect she really knows nothing about how puella magi work. To her it may still be the happy idealistic sailor moon world, where we are the villians.
Not knowing she could die, not knowing how vicious problems over territory get betwen Maguca, obviously not knowing about gems and witches...

All of this possibly exaggerated by whatever her power does to her and her poor home life...

This is tricky, possibly worse crash than mami if we just tell ehr the truth. Mami was at least somewhat jaded ind ealing with otehr puella magi, and knew her life was dangerous.
 
I'm really really tempted to just gag her at this point. Gag her, then explain the situation to her. At this point, I doubt her opinion of Sabrina can drop much lower.

Our relationship with Ono is so bad, we are literally attack-on-sight. Aggressive guaranteed to be ineffective, because it just reinforces her view of us.

Anything other than aggressive will be ineffectual, because she will be too busy trying to fry us to actually listen and comprehend.

EDIT: Guys, she has a right to be aggressive. We broke into her home. Proved that her safe-place isn't safe. She's confused and threatened. We cannot be threatening or aggressive. We need to come off as "parent" or "teacher" rather than "enemy".

EDIT: We also, need to provide her with a sense of welcome and belonging.

I'm honestly tempted to stab ourself to shock her, prove a point and get her to listen, but Mami and Homura might not react well.

Something somebody in this forum shared once: When dealing with violent crazy people, women are restrained, but not gagged, they need to be able to yell all they want.

[X] Smile, thank Mami. If there's any possibility you can communicate her to let you handle things for a few minutes, without telepathy, now's the time. Otherwise, if Mami tries to intervene before Ono gets out of control, gently stop her.
[X] Keep an eye on Ono's Gem.
[X] If at any time Ono starts yelling or ranting, let her be, then continue:
-[X] Tone: Confrontational. Prod, try to rile up Ono to get her to vent her anger on us. Possible points to bring up, unless given better targets:
-[X] She's not scaring us away. (As Magical Girls), we fight far worse every day; today was particulary terrifying.
-[X] We'd leave her alone any other time, that would be right, but she's practically commiting suicide. We can't let that happen.
-[X] We simply want her to live; she doesn't need to help us if she doesn't want. Just stay alive and uncorrupted.

(not really important, but Sabrina is a conglomeration of all of us, and having multiple 'my's is getting weird)

Likely not the time to try such things just yet, but if things don't go anywhere due to her power's effects upon herself it may be worth taking a shot at making an item that either cancels out magic from a specific source, or prevents magically-based mental influences.

[x] Tell Mami to let Ono go for a second
[x] Dissolve the Grief ring on Ono, trapping her in timestop
[x] Fly over to Oriko's
[x] Pull them into timestop
[x] Ask Kirika for a favor. Emphasize it's a matter of life and death. Even if she's hesitant, Oriko should be able to convince her.
[x] Go back to Ono
[x] Pull her back into timestop
[x] Blast her with anti-magic (continuously, if possible)
[x] "How are you feeling, miss Ono?"
[x] Vote prompt.


We just keep hitting a brick wall with Ono and her friggin' magic. That needs to end. Another 10 updates of carefully-worded social votes that just keep being blindly rejected by her aren't going to help, and we're just going to end up doing irreversible damage to our relationship with her (Akiko-level, except she has no-one to care for her).

More seriously, we don't know what Ono's wish was, or what her power is. I'm pretty sure it's just a facade, so anti-magic might not be useful at all.

"Jesus fuck," Sakura mutters. You fight the completely inappropriate impulse to criticize her swearing for a lack of creativity, barely winning. The teleporter strides forward, radiating anger, and reaches out to bodily manhandle Akiko to her feet. "Up, get up."

The bluenette stands, swaying drunkenly, head dipped and feverbright eyes darting madly about. You're not sure if she even recognizes there are other people there on the roof with her, let alone who those people might be.

Sakura leans back, one arm drawing back with palm unfurled. She hesitates for a moment, bringing that arm back forward again.

Then she slaps Akiko. Not full force, not putting her entire body behind the blow, not even hard by any reasonable measure.

Akiko crumples to the floor, blinking vacantly upwards.

"Sakura!" Rin says, stepping forward.

Sakura grunts. "Fuck. Thought that would work," she mutters.
