You know, if you're worried about losing track of time, you can ask Mami to give you a poke 15~30 minutes before lunch.

I have to say I'm tempted to compress half of the grief floating around into one ball and feed it to Kyubey, just to see if he can handle that much in one go without something exploding on their end.

We should find out if grief that we've changed the properties of stays coherent outside our range.

We should also make combustible lemons out of grief.

might be more likely to work. (We can do complex compounds...Human is a complex compound.)

If we make a viable human body, then we can see what happens if we put a grief seed in its hand.

If it works, then we have an easy explanation for why it pings witch senses: it is in fact a witch (*to Sakura* NOTE THE DIFFERENCE)

So much science....

Well as long as we can go "Dare you enter my magical realm?" and shoot grief lasers in the end, I'm happy.

If we really can make anything out of grief, then I have a proposal. During one of our future witch fights we should pretend to be Shirou from F/SN and and use grief to form all the weapons from (seemingly) thin air.

Imagine it...

Sabrina: TRACE ON!!!
*Make Excalibur Alter*
Witch: Oh Shit...
*Eats grief powered Excaliblast*
Mami: You watched anime this weekend didn't you?
Sabrina: I may have marathoned the series, the movie, and all the video games...

You don't label something GM's note unless it's separate to the story. Probably just telling us that no, we did not get swallowed up in Kyubey's head or whatever. This is not all just an Incubator dream experiment.
It could.

Or it could mean that the sentence fragment is intentional.

Or it could mean nothing.
okay I'll stop now

Why do we need to find Elly, specifically? We already messed up a canon quite a bit. How do we even know that she's going to be a thing and why does she take priority over hunting down other Witches?

Idea! 5m climate controlled grief shell around us, and cover all remaining area we control with grief emulating sun plasma. Bonus points if we can use magnetism to pull solar arcs outside our radius to attack other things, and break them to launch
solar flares at enemies at range.

She doesn't really, but we know what to expect from her from canon- a large body count- and there's a faint hope (possibly) of us saving her from Witching in the first place.

But yeah, I doubt we'll actually run into her in a timely fashion, either pre or post Witching.

Theres also the 60%-99.9% (different estimations ive seen, and i tend towards the upper end) that its not the original H. N. Elly, but an evolving familiar. In which case we should be looking out for a mannequin with (likely) a small barrier and someone who dies.

Which could be interesting, a familiar with barrier we could study, and in theory wtaching an evolution would be very interesting, but i dont think we will let anyone die for the sake of science.

Assuming elly was in any way born there, and didnt just wander in from somewhere or woke up from being dormant or something.

What's that figure based on? The Witch barrier's runespeak definitely suggests it's the original girl due to the memories- I don't think we'd see that from a buffed familiar.

Elly said "It was very fun, let's go again. Next time with a Bentou"
The Guidebook indicates Elly's labyrinth design as a Snowglobe (スノードーム). It has the line, "I have only one wish. Box up that memory." (私の願いはただひとつ、あの思い出をとじこめて). It states that when the Witch dies, the lights on the Christmas tree and merry-go-round short out. There's a 'basssh!' sound.

Granted, the Guidebook is dubiously canon, but...

Familiars evolve into literal copies of their parent Witch. The Barrier'd be the same. There is no real way for us to determine whether or not any given Witch is the original meguca or a jumped up Familiar.

Edit: This is why de-witchification, if we ever manage it, is going to be really strange.

Would be funny after all the worry over her appearance and threatening Pink Girl Madoka if we just randomly stumbled across her while doing SCIENCE.

The figures 60-99.9% was what ive heard used, and id call 60 very dubious, since it assumes theres a lot of contracts that witch out on the spot we never hear about.

Taking the two year survival figure (is that canon?) and assuming a puella magi kills one witch per week, you get something like 1 Pm for 100 witches, which means 99 must be evolutions, if every puella witches. If some die in other ways, its even more lopsided. One can fiddle with the numbers somewhat, but its hard to push up original witch rate very high without very strange assumptions.
