-Sustainable Forests 33{40}/34.5 [+5]

Yeomen (6 {20})- Mood: Excited. Desire: Expand Forest. Power: Adds half faction power to secondary Martial Objective: Have 40 Sustainable Forest within 2 turns. Success: +1 Sustainable Forest. Failure: -5 Wealth
Hmm. Speaking of...

@Academia Nut

Any chance of the Yeomen reward paying out more to reflect the increase in productivity due to technology? It's looking a little flaccid now :V

And your not engaging the argument. The point was that the thread was jumping at the chance to 'no longer have an exile inequality' that they and you don't give a shit about how much it was going to screw us.
Look, I can simply click up the quote chain and see that is not true. You're lying. The argument began with you claiming that the Patricians are somehow entitled to special status, and need to be mollified, because they're keeping the nation together blah blah blah. Except, that isn't true. The Patricians kept quasi-slaves, and are now upset that we made that no longer profitable.

So, once again: Why shouldn't we just suppress the Patricians?

Yes, Crow forbid we try to play a society with a modicum of morality.
Happily unable to declare war without CB-
Happily go against slavery despite it's usefulness-
Happily accepts all manner of foreigners-
And yet clearly we of course had no modicum of morality until we got rid of the exile system.
After all were utterly against people getting what they want if it fucks others over after all, right?

Are you upset that we have morality at all or because you don't think we should aim to get more morality than we already have?

"Oh hey, we have a sufficient quantity of morality. I guess now we have license to do evil."

Are you for real?

After all were utterly against people getting what they want if it fucks others over after all, right?
So, according to you, nothing should be done that might even slightly harm the status of Patricians, even when that status was ill-gotten.

It seems like the Patricians are the only people you care about here. The only ones you even see as people!

No, this began with me stating that the Patricians are getting fucked over.
Which I am taking offensive to because its happening in a way that will get our nation killed.

@Academia Nut i'll double check for more errors (and do an A&D post for this last update hopefully) after dinner, but some quick things i noticed:
Diplo Per Turn [+2]
+1 King of the Hill
+3 Games
-2 Skullduggery
Forgot Amber Road and Grand Hall income.

Forests Per Turn [+3]
Forestry Passive +3
Forestry Repeat +2
Should be [+5] for the total

Culture Per Turn [+6]
+5 City Levels
+1.5 Games
Forgot redshore market (1.25)

Tech Per Turn [-4]
+1.5 Palaces
+1 Ironworks
-2 City Support
-3 Forestry Passives
-1 Forestry Repeat
I thought it was just +1 for the arsenal? If its 0.5/palace now for the income as well as the refund, then you should update the megaproject listing.
(Also you may want to add newlines between each stat's section. Hard to parse right now)

Shame offensive policy lost...I hope the Freehills manage to pull through and beat back the slaving civs who want to subjugate them. Although I wonder how it will look if we save only one Games participant and leave the other one to hang out to dry.

Slaughtered by being made to reform the government to support rules-changes while the patricians were pissy, because we had to pick between Ethnic Cleansing, Slavery, and Labor Reform, and we picked Labor Reform.

Died in crib when we require CB for wars.:V
non of those things stops it for becomeing a non-hereditary absolute Empire. its the patricians and the Parliamen takeing power away form the crown. before we know it we get an Ewh "constitution" 'shakes head in disgust'

Because they can't hold people as quasi-slaves anymore? That's "getting fucked over"? What?
If the halve exiles cant be payed then they don't have to work, if the people governing the area cant get the work done then they lose their jobs to the people who can, the people who can are most certainly those who are abusing the system the most and are given more power while destroying others who arnt abusing it as much, meaning that those left behind are going to me 'worse' from your point of view.

False- their was no guaranty of unlocking slavery and the choices were-
[Purity] The Puritans broke (Lose the Purity trait, possible loss of the prohibition on slavery) - Possibility of slavery.
[Purity] While their vigilante violence was wrong, maybe they have a point here (Pride in Acceptance downgraded to Cosmopolitan Acceptance) - possibility of Ethinic cleansing
[Purity] Some hypocrisy is acceptable (Greater Justice modified) - nothing?
[Purity] If slavery is so bad in comparison, maybe even the half-exiles need to be addressed (-1 Stability, the next Patrician, Guild, and Trader quests are all spite quests, all Wealth costs are doubled going forward) - Labor reform
[Purity] Look to the heavens for a sign (Random, could be all good results from above options, could be all bad results from above options, likely a mix) Hell marry
We could have chosen to do nothing.

Except your hypothetical half Exile abuser is a dream target for a hungry young patrician wanting to raise his status. They're certainly all on the lookout for that kind of thing so they can get promoted. This is why I don't understand why you're so against churn among the patricians. It keeps the class from ossifying and entrenching troubling long term interests.

Freehills holds both sides of the Trelli strait and has a heroic general. I'm pretty sure them losing is literally impossible unless the Tin Tribes roll amazingly well. At most we'll send a mercenary company or two to back them up.

This is all taking the fact that the half Exiles arnt being abused is making it so that only the people who cheat well enough for personal gain for wealth are those left standing, even those who didn't abuse them before they get fucked if they can't afforded the added mandatory costs. Which also gets rid of the whole 'punishment' for those who do break the law in the first place.

I haven't seen any of this being supported by AN, where are you getting the idea that Patricians literally cannot afford to pay the costs without some form of illegal activity? I agree they certainly don't want to pay them (The threatened civil war was a big hint) but it's never been said to my knowledge they can't.
