So we aren't in the main turn yet. Which is interesting.

[] [HS] Prototype Weapon Storage (Palace Arsenal + Storehouse Annexes, Reforms advance)
This costs -4 Econ and -4 Culture, taking us down to 10 for the Main Turn. 14 if the Refugees payout then.
Our income will be [-6+5] and I am not sure if the vassal tax income(+5) comes at the same time as the panem costs(-6). @Academia Nut do the -6 and +5 in the [-6+5] of Econ occur at the same time in the income/expense ordering? I.e do we only have to worry about a net -1 from Panem right now?

Anyhoo we should be safe to take the above, and I think @notgreat is onto something that this will help with our Cent troubles.

[] [Mercs] Take their pay and head out, further commitment is not worth it (+2 Wealth, mercs disengage)
The wealth is nice, and the amount means they did fulfill their commitment for the Trelli bit. Also it looks like without naval support from us Freehills cannot take Trelli itself. Taking this though means we have -3 Unit income which takes us down to -2 as long as Trade Disruption is going on.

Now the other possibility is:
[] [Mercs] Stick around unless they intend to go after the Khemetri (Mercs still paid by Freehills barring war dec on Khemetri)
And this might piss off the Freehills, though they would understand I think from a pragmatic perspective. Also Wealth income which is nice.

[] [War] Attempt to mediate a peace between the Trelli and Freehills (-4 Diplomacy, +1 Stability, chance to open the Strait for free)
Now doing this is interesting, we need the Stab, but it has two consequences: One the Trade Disruption likely ends, and if that happens the Liquidity crisis has a good chance to come back.

Hmmm...

Yeah I'll go with this.

Seems like a given. Best chance to solve this without bloodshed, imo. I have a feeling the odds of the negotiations actually succeeding are rather low, but we won't be able to say we didn't try.

Hahaha no Freehill-chan. We're not gonna let you touch Khem-senpai~

@Academia Nut what does our Diplomacy chief (such as it exists) and warchief think about making peace in Trelli? Is leaving our mercs under Free Hill's control this turn a more effective way to ensure peace than the alternative?

I'm pretty sure the disruption is there at least until the pirate king dies. He's currently headed for Tinriver apparently...we should be prepared to need to commit a war mission next turn in addition to our mercenaries.

Why is it always the Red Banner mercenary company that gets damaged? They were the ones to nearly be annihilated during the Kings Do Not Kneel fiasco. They were the ones that were cut off, nearly trapped in Greenshore and destroyed during the Trelli war. Now they're the Banner Company that got reduced to half strength after fighting the Trelli. Does Crow hate them?
Pretty sure Red Banner is made of our best and brightest, which means they are usually stuck in the thick of it. Doing the most damage, but also at greater risk.

I don't want to ruin our new merc company by inflicting severe losses on them.

Well that's actually sort of a Good Thing since it means we don't have to spend Econ or Wealth. Still bad though because of low martial and Navy.

Glad we got the Blood Rain's. That helps.

Why the interest in lending them the Mercenaries? We want them to stop attacking the Trelli so we can get the Strait open.

Taking them also stops them from attacking the Khemetri as they no longer have additional forces to back them.

Will they hijack into things that get us into the negative in a stat, or are they smart enough to only hijack into things that won't bring us into negatives?

Mechanically they are unconstrained, but will generally try not to crash the economy. However, if they are selfish enough to force an override, they can be stupid enough to do damage accidentally.

At the moment, Trelli may decide to accept a peace. The straits is keeping the two forces apart such that whoever has the homefield advantage on a side has an overwhelming advantage, so neither can really contest the other where it hurts. Cutting their losses would allow the Trelli to consolidate what they have left.

If negotiation fails, and our merc sticks around, there will be more fighting?

Yes, although it may turn into just irritation raids on the others rather than proper battles due to logistical constraints.

Yep, our objective was accomplished, let the mercs stay there and help Freehills consolidate the power on their side of the shore, and use the actual idea from Freehills.

Stability. Straits. Problems fixed.

...Uh... okay.

[X] [HS] Increase Iron production to make things cheaper (Redshore Ironworks [-3 Econ, -3 Tech, 2 Sustainable Forest used, Expand Econ additional +1 Econ, -1 EE, -1 Tech] + Sec Survey, Reforms advance)
Ironworks, I guess?

@Academia Nut

How does the Prototype Deployment Organization (2xSec Blackmouth Colossal Walls) figure into the future reforms? Is this the Chinese model where the elites are deployed into the north while the south is kept demobilized, or is this using the military to build fortifications (or at least encampments as the romans did on the march)?

What is Myranyns rationale here?

Okay, so we need to make sure to keep a 1-4 econ buffer at all times, since our guild actions cost from 1 to a secondary up to 4 to a main action.
It would be really bad if the Guilds decided to be assholes and have us starve, so a buffer is something we should keep in mind from now on while planning our turns.
