Our new materials:

Glazed pottery
Porcelain
Coloured glazes

Not too bad. We certainly fulfilled the Quest with these and then some.

And once production ticks up, we actually displace China with one of their signature trade goods in this era.

Philosopher Kings is expensive as hell, but it improves the quality of our leaders and study actions. And it's a strong incentive to improve education. Fairly sure the Gymnasiums will be very quick to adapt to this new need as well when we build them.

...What happened to the peaceful people? Why did you guys have to war? You guys *seriously* couldn't see how the rest of the civs would see this as? I don't follow the thread for a while and somehow we've become warmongers?

Lol those slaves saw the hypocrisy in helping them when its convenient for us and helps us rather then when we first saw the Trelli engaging in slavery.

Foreign interventions never work unless we wish to go in and take over or we are helping an ally.

Terrify might actually be for the best here, a drawn out war hurts us more and we know Golden Rule punishes them HARD for the loss of trade, so they could break fast and we can go to recovery after.
A drawn out war would suck WORSE.
Think diplomacy here. Using Terrify drops our Diplomacy by 3. That's going to have narrative repercussions and if the last update is anything to go by the repercussions will be severe.

I'm pretty happy with the LoW upgrade. It means we'll be making a big push for more education.

We may want to go for None on our next GA pick, though, if it doesn't offer things that address problems.

Wait, what? I didn't vote for supporting the slaves for warmongering reasons, I voted for it to help the slaves.

I think the vast majority of people that voted for it did.
Sometimes slaves don't want to be helped by people that profited off of the backs of their labor for centuries. Sometimes they don't want to be helped and want to win on their own.

Hopefully we can get the Khemetri back on side again.

Yes. And it gets even WORSE the longer the war drags out.

The only way we're going to have any semblance of regional stability again is if we CRUSHED the war, gave the slaves the keys and then went home.
The immediate costs of Terrify are smaller than the long term costs of dragging it out

And now I'm heading out.

@Academia Nut, do any of our advisors have any idea what we should do in order to pay for Philosopher Kings?

Schools is my guess. I think justification for the cost is that with philosopher Kings any family that wants a king needs to hire private tutors as the desire for an educated King is so high. But at our infrastructure level no economy of scale is occurring causing the stat drain.

Placeholder vote, might approval vote some alt options after some sleep.

I think we need not only more libraries/temples/gymnasiums but more social slots to add more depth to our society and culture.

@Academia Nut
Not that we'd do it, but aren't the Nomads a viable target for Nemesis Fashion as well as the Trelli?
I'm pretty sure I'd hate any of the nomad values even more than I hate Rule Of Gold, but I'd still like to know for the future. If the nomads don't count, it might actually be viable to break Nemesis Fashion by beating/killing the Trelli and running out of enemies with compatible values.
