@veekie, whatever plan you go with, make sure that it gets us out of Tech 0. It's not a good place to be and not something we want to risk despite - or perhaps because of - the pressures of war.

What was DocMatoi's idea?
Just that back during when we were trying to figure out our boats he thought we may have discovered gondolas based on stuff AN said. It was during one of those times the thread was being weird.

As an aside getting hot air balloon tech would actually let us turn battles enormously in our favor because they are nearly impervious to ground fire if they can go high enough.

Death from Above, as you said.

From the looks of it, the Khemri appear lot more fragile than we are if they don't have sufficient RA. Pleasantly surprised that we have a bit more prestige than them, too :D

For next turn, a couple of combinations I'd probably prefer:

Main War Mission
Secondary Arsenal
Secondary Blackbirds

Main Arsenal
Secondary Study Metal
Secondary War Mission

Basically, I'm not opposed to Study Metal, and I wouldn't be too bothered if it wins, but I'd rather use the actions to get more Blackbirds and send war missions. Not actually sure the last time we took the Blackbirds option anyway.

Am I also right in thinking that Valleyhome, Stallionpen and the new Western Wall settlement are the only ones with massive walls?

I've always been a fan of death from above!

Not really good as a bombing platform, but as a reconnaissance platform? Absolutely.

A reverse Google Search of your image has led me to this:

I find myself both confused and intrigued...
Oh, Gintama. I need to watch that. Thanks for reminding me.

0.33798 Walpurgisnacht.

[main] Trails
[secondary] Arsenal
[secondary] Study Metal or Support Artisans

That about right, then?
*scratches cheek*

I'm okay with that because !!!ROADS!!! but it's not my first preference. Pretty much as long as something has the Arsenal somewhere in it I'll be happy if the combo wins.

Massive walls I don't know, but I do know that Valleyhome, Stallionpen when it sprouts and Western Wall when it sprouts will be able to support Colossal Walls.

These are good. For your elucidation in case you missed it(one can never tell), the Arsenal is to give Mystic King his lab, and Study Metal is to give him something to do in that lab.

I don't know, but I'm pretty sure it would be wise if we sent at least a Secondary War Mission. Better to go with Support Artisans than Study Metal since it gives us a bigger safety net of Tech and has a higher chance of innovation.

Paths of Civilization where the Osmotic Balance is maintained by using a silliness-salt pump.

This i agree. :3

Big plus on main trail.
I would do support artisans instead of study metal.

Gah!

Our lack of Tech as a civilization game on SV is gonna bug me. I feel like we've failed somehow.

Salt and Silliness go hand in hand to maintain the homeostasis of the Thread.
Consult you're doctor if you have flame war lasting longer than 8 hours.

I'm really looking forward to this. This might be the first Major Archeological event we're participating in! Since, it seems fairly certain that this is going to be well recorded, both in terms of literal written records and in artifacts on battlefields and changes in culture.

Let me put it into perspective for you, Our Bullshit!

The surrounding time currently in game -> ~2300 BCE

Use of Iron -> 1100 - 1000 BCE

Use of Cholera Rehydration therapy cure -> mid 1800's by John Snow

Empirical Sanitiation theory -> It's proto-germ theory.

Trip Hammers -> possibly Zhou Dynasty China (1050 BC - 221 BC)

And that's the first things that spring to mind. We've definitely succeeded in pushing tech ahead. :V

You ain't got much anything to feel ashamed of.

Don't forget Terra preta - Wikipedia (450 BCE and 950 CE pre-columbia native americans)

You know, I'm looking at the quest tags right now and I wonder what new people will think when they open the Thread for the first time and see things like 'I put on my helmet and eod suit' and 'nomads are not fey'.

I wonder if this is the quest with the weirdest tags?

Probably not really related to the current conversation at hand, but just a thought: I feel like with all our recent advances in naval technology, there's a good chance that if we make another mercenary company, it'd be sea based.

We have the weirdest users, see the FLOCK political block composed of feudalist sheep.

Right, the first bullshit thing we figured out about a thousand years ago.

"The fuck have these weirdos been up to?" Is probably a good approximation of their collective mind-states.
