Our next actions should hopefully include study metal, new trails and a Arsenal annex to give our Mystic Hero his own private lab and the best talent in our kingdom.
So how would you do the plan New Arms to the Front?

[main] Trails
[secondary] Arsenal
[secondary] Study Metal,

or

[main] Study Metal
[secondary] Arsenal
[secondary] Trails?

More centralization to burn for Wildcat would probably be nice, but better odds of steel are pretty important, too.
You think the great hall expansion was only allowed because the space was already set out then?
Yes.

*whispers* Build Arsenals...

Whelp!

When God himself comes down from Heaven and tells you to build Arsenals you better build as many Arsenals as you can possibly fit.

Also, @Academia Nut do we know how well the Khemetri would do in a war of attrition?

Edit: Guys, when he says copyright infringement I think he means Iron...

And how long till Bronze Age collapse? We've been waiting forever!

Uh Concho, it's the Khemetri attacking us right now. We are hiring the Trelli Mercs out. The Trelli are staying well back from our fight.

Or do you really mean the Naval power Trelli who sit on the Bosporus? I'm confused

What is this copyright infringement and are we going to get a chance to develop laws against if
Laws aren't the problem, the problem is sending aggressively armed lawyers against the Khemetri/Trelli who've just yoinked either our new bows, heavy infantry, combined arms tactics, iron equipment, and/or boat designs.

So basically, if they lose this war, their entire civ will go up in smoke?

Not necessarily, but a civil war is possible if the majesty of the king is sufficiently damaged by this conflict, which is why the Khemetri were not going to back down over this (technically when two great powers with King of the Hill make contact with each other and can directly interact, both sides have the capacity to back down - if both do so then the higher prestige nation maintains King of the Hill with a small prestige boost and the other nation takes a small hit. If the lower prestige nation backs down to an aggressive higher prestige nation, they take a moderate prestige hit and lose KotH. If the higher prestige nation backs down, then they transfer enough prestige to the aggressor to put them ten points behind the aggressor, losing KotH in the process.

Most great powers will tend to be doing things with their prestige like maintaining vassals and colonies and the like, and thus backing down can cause the collapse of internal systems and signal weakness to aggressive outsiders who will see them as a prestige pinata.

What is this copyright infringement and are we going to get a chance to develop laws against if

Possibly, but enforcement will be an issue.

Is this a defensive war?

It's mutually offensive at this point, although if you do poorly enough it can become defensive.

Now, if we learned all this about how the Khemetri function- how much have they learned about us as a society? And can we get any insight into their reactions to such knowledge (simply for curiosity- this is just a really intriguing moment in history)

You're neglecting the New Trails idea, there. I suspect Hatvalley doesn't have great trails for moving large quantities of warriors there, after all...
Our provinces actually build more roads than we do.
Copy paste error, corrected.

Well, neither you nor the Khemetri have won yet for one thing.

However, you currently have a problem with copyright infringement.

You have also discovered a bit more about the Khemetri, in that they have a god-king set up that allows them to burn religious authority in the place of stability so long as their RA is above a certain threshold (Stability rapidly drops if it is below this threshold), and so long as their prestige is high they can also boost their RA more efficiently (although they do just also throw Econ at temples). They need their prestige for both holding onto their many, many colonies, and to keep their central government functioning.

Probably the mercs copied our tactics.
Why wouldn't they?

Also arsed to build Arsenals with Study Metal now.
Khemri strategy sounds pretty neat, but brittle, like ours.
We've got mercenaries getting a close view of our battle tactics. Some of them are probably getting stolen.

Possibly crossbows, too.
Crossbows no, logistics tail they lack.

Laws aren't the problem, the problem is sending aggressively armed lawyers against the Khemetri/Trelli who've just yoinked either our new bows, heavy infantry, combined arms tactics, iron equipment, and/or boat designs.
Only tactics, the rest can't be copied easily.

So, will King of the Hill status be changed to something like "great power" later? Since often there weren't any clear leaders in the international politics. Like, even Egypt-Hittite war ended inconclusively.

"Many many colonies".
Not really, those colonies don't necessarily aid their war effort all that much. Meanwhile, we've got a fairly large contingent of mercenaries backing us up and Marches potentially loaning us martial.

The fact that Khemetri could afford to go nearly all in on colonies implies they haven't had any major war lately, or at least local threats. Which is awesome for us because that means chances are good even outside of iron we have a much higher tech army.
