I really don't see geometry coming from anywhere else but the stars. What else would provoke that sort of thinking.

And before anyone tries to nitpick, I am not saying that it has zero use elsewhere, I am saying that astronomy is the field that would provide incentive into theorizing about angles.
Which is helpful for building...*starts counting things, runs out of fingers and toes*... everything we consider remotely important in architecture besides the arch which we already have.

It's also really useful for physics in general.

I would say that Redshore would be the best location for the Games, because the whole point of it is to include the entirety of our realm and allow for everyone we govern to gain prestige and feel welcome by participating in the Games.
Redshore was stated by AN to be the easiest to access place in our Kingdom. It would be the best place to have the Games for that reason alone. It would also attract a lot of people, and subsequently business, which would be important for a center of commerce like Redshore is becoming.

True, however putting it in the capital can have interesting results from Palace, garden, games combo.
Royal or contestant processions to and from the games to the palace, great victory feasts in the hall, a victory march to the crown room or temple for awards. "celebrations" in the garden. And a thousand other social and religious rituals. The possibilities are endless.

I think this is actually backwards. In real life, people figured out clear glass before optics. Which makes sense really; the notion that a curved clear sheet will magnify something is incredibly nonobvious. There's a step of seredipity there.

My take is that we should put off heavy astronomy focus till we have clear glass. It has way more potential at that point.
Incorrect. The earliest lenses were not glass, actually, but crystal or quartz. The earliest known intact lens is dated to 700 BC, blown glass is dated to first century AD.

The early history of optics is obviously patchy going back into the Chalcolithic but it predates glassblowing considerably- you can argue that clear glass is necessary for microscopes and so forth, but the early history of glassblowing suggests it's rather all the same once glassblowing is invented- both clear glass and curved glass lenses were popularized in the first century AD shortly after Phoenician glassblowing and many thin translucent or 'aqua' lenses are fairly suitable for practical application anyway.

Which all sound like romanticism, which is nice to see still survives.

Keep on keeping on sheepy. You'll win eventually.

I agree with waiting until Clear Glass to start the Study Stars chain -> PttS.
Dam would be very useful if we start needing LTE again. The drought resistance is basically already dealt with via Sacred Forest, so it's less useful there.

If things are going well, I'm strongly in favor of either
[Main] Census x2
[Secondary] Enforce Justice
or
[Main] Census
[Main] Games
depending on how much Centralization space we have (since a Golden Age would be really nice)

I honestly don't know. Plenty happened, but not sure if I have the spark in me today. Anywhere from four if inspiration strikes to 24 if it doesn't.
Update coming soon! (this was posted a bit over 24 hours ago)

I rather we put the The Game in Stallion Tribe area once we integrated them. Call it Stallion Game to recognize their unfaltering faith in the Ymaryn ideal, and smooth out the feathers.

It would bring the former ST and Northern interest groups much needed money and prestige to counterbalance the Southerners.

North of it. Both of those areas are one of our provinces. They settled a march outside that in order to guard those areas.

Edit: Fuck my phone and apple in general for its autocorrect.
I wasn't talking about the location of the Heavens Hawk march but rather which holysite they were going to and inadvertently mixing our religions in that area. Part of the reason why I wanted Stonepen so that we build more temples and trails there to help stop a splinter sect from forming.

There probably would be a lot more pomp and ceremony if we put it in Valleyhome, but I fear that it would become almost exclusive to the political elites of the South, instead of being a more inclusive event for all Ymaryn.

That was then. That was also a long time ago.

In other news, I think we have our sister culture in the To Boldly Go quest:
Sci-Fi - To Boldly Go... (a Starfleet quest) | Page 2357

How good is this quest?

@Susano, I got five words for you in regards to space colonies :
Forgeworlds, hiveworlds, shrineworlds, agriworlds and most importantly feudalworlds.

Humanity needs to mark the universe as its territory, The emperor wills it.

In fealty to Ymaryn our undying People and by the grace of the Dragon Throne, I hereby sign the death warrant of an entire world and consign the billion souls to oblivion. May Greater Justice account in all balance. There is no place for the weak-willed or hesitant. Only by firm action and resolute faith will The People survive. No sacrifice is too great. No treachery too small. The Crow protects.

Why do you say that? I'm genuinely curious why astronomy is he only reason you can think of for angles to become important enough to stick in someone's mind.

Folks, we should not put everything in Valleyhome or Redshore.
For original megaprojects:
Stonepen = Place to the Stars & Games
Bad/Lowlands = Dam + Canal
Sacred Forest = Stone Age Canal && Temple && Library.
Northshore = Saltern

Redshore will only have Docks and they're... well, our biggest coastal town until Greenshore makes a TC.

VH has, what, Palace + Garden?

Infrastructure:
VH also has temple and library probably.
SF has an aqueduct
Southshore has a saltern
Stallion Tribes have a Temple

No, but putting things in random places makes even less sense.

The games? Put that shit on the northern coast. It's just as easy to get to as Redshore and will appeal to their martial sensibilities. It will also give them some sense of pride in ownership of something the southerners have to come to them for.

Oh right I keep forgetting about Northshore.

Probably the best place to put it to fulfill all goals.
