I'm kind of amazed we have milk! If I'm recalling correctly lactose intolerance is the norm not the exception in ancient people.
We've had cows since the beginning of the Three Peoples.

So how's the quest going?
We skipped bronze and got iron. Right now we're doing science to banish away the idea that metal is cursed and also evolve Observance. We created a 1000 km dead zone in Nomad land for two generations after a massive war with them before we got the iron.

I really want a golden age. With the extra econ from that we can do ALL the things.

With the extra econ from that
We're getting 4+ econ per turn just from staying in Policy: Balanced.

The real value of a golden age is the possibility for sudden advancement, and I'd like to make sure we're not borderline on anything (wars, forests, underlying corruption & whatnot) before starting one, because that gives us more margin to take advantage of breakthroughs.

*looks at last golden age* Yeah, that makes sense.

Quite a few 'Colonial Nations' came to be as they are now once the Imperialists left them, Africa for example was exploited but it wasn't anywhere near the state is in now. Oh and it's still being exploited, except it no longer has the amount of stability it once had via Imperialist nations enforcing order.
The Afrikaners still feel like the fault of imperialism to me, somehow.

What did we accomplish during our last golden age? I forget.

Was that when we had the Admin hero?

We do it to spread the light of civilisation, our people are blessed with enlightment, and it's our burden to spread it to the farthest corners of the earth, lifting the savages from the shackles of ignorance and barbarity.
Don't be ridiculous.

We do ot to spread the light of Agriculture, our farms are blessed with bounty, and it's our burden to spread it to the farthest corners of the earth, lifting the lands from the shackles of mismanagement and lack of irrigation .

Frankly I feel that the academic focus on past imperialism as the proximate cause of Africa's political instability is REALLY overlooking the recent and current international arms trade. When China, the United States, and Russia have all been exporting assault rifles en masse to Africa for the last fifty years or so I feel blaming the British and Dutch for everything is rather missing the mark. 'Imperialism' also ignores the part other nations played in the slave trade.

We did have an admin hero. The Golden Age gave us a chance for innovation, which happened to be iron. Unfortunately due to various religious issues taking the innovation meant taking a stability hit that would knock us out of the Golden Age. I'm rather hoping that's not a typical result and you can get innovations and keep a Golden Age going but given our other options were trait evolutions that would have also knocked us out of the Golden Age I wouldn't bet on it.

We're on the cusp of wineries.
We have cheese, and on the way to aged and mature cheese, and perhaps salted marinated cheeses.
Olive oil is a distinct possibility.
Bread is available as is meat.

In short we're a few generations away from a Mediterranean breakfast.
And then opening up cute little wine and cheese shops thousands of years before anyone would logically expect it!

They'll have names like "Let It Brie" and "The Grater Good" and be totally adorable.

French elfs.

Since we are making cheese, then we are using baby cow's stomach for the bacteria. Veterinary is like as developed as human treatments.

I wonder when we would discover more advanced tannery.

we'd be sticking ourselves between them and the northern part of the HK but not between the XS (TH subordinates) and the HK's main body.
When I said half the Lowlands, I meant half the bloody Lowlands. Everything, from the mountains to the...actually the next major geographical obstacle isn't on the map, is it? Well, whatever that is.And to remind people of the agreement, we build a giant fuck off mountain right on the border.

Please refer to the map for an explanation on just how little of the lowlands is unclaimed.

Oh, nvm, I see. You think they'll actually let us take that giant pizza slice of land, and assume it will be worthwhile despite the HK likely having consumed half of it, leaving us a thin strip.

Y'know, thinking about the lowlands - I don't think the Thunder Speakers are going to last much longer.

Their military power was just broken, and they've chosen to invest in Art and Mysticism instead - but they're still adjacent to the steppe, and our Nomad Extermination Campaign probably wrecked most of their ties to local nomads.

Which means they're both looking like a much wealthier target than they used to, and are dependent on the Thunder Horse for nomad protection as soon as more nomads move in.

We might have an opportunity to yoink a bunch of their stuff, soon.

We're going to need more forests to build our great ships so we can colonize the new world to get our tomatoes and potatoes.

....? Yes they can. It's called raids.

Not if the raids aren't against defenseless villages.

So we absorb the TS immigrants? It's way too far to annex them.

But we need to expand east of course. :V

Also I do not understand your criticism of my post talking about expanding east @Umi-san. Can you please explain it better and more clearly?
