They laughed their way through five war missions last turn. This turn we have a whole other civilization itching to start a whole other war with us, pls an ally who needs help in ANOTHER war.

Do what everybody smart does with united nomads. Buy them off until they fall apart, then use our superior tech to purge the shattered pieces on our own terms. This sort of thing is the whole reason we have the saltern. Do not take the Horde head-on.

The reason they laughed off our first main war missions was because of crit fails. Since the crit fails depleted the Marches of their martial, the subsequent missions were even more costly.

Huh, I'd thought the Stallion Tribes were rocking a forest of their own now to deter chariots? Or did that get burned down?

Actually they only tanked a 2x War Mission and a Secondary.

I don't think the stallion tribe actions are close to 1:1 in power level to our normal actions. They're still just one province.

Man. If we could like, have another smallpox outbreak that we would tank and the nomads would get obliterated by, that'd be great.

This isn't going to end well.

No don't give AN ideas! We are more often split in opinions than in consensus. Next we know there will be dozens of factions in our government.
Less a trait about achieving consensus/failure to achieve such. But more a trait to represent the gut level, fundamental refusal this thread (and hence the council) has to contemplate bending in a defensive war. I mean think about what this consensus represents, an abject refusal to even contemplate sending the nomads tribute/surrendering in the face of said aggression. Presumably this is at least somewhat indicative of how the populace feels about fighting for their brethren.

@BungieONI, could you repost the exterminatus scale? I'm not sure 3 is high enough...
Here is the Scale

We need to switch our policy to offensive so our provinces can expand our military as well as send war missions to the nomads. We, however, should devote our actions to streamlining Iron, fixing legitimacy and stability (resting at 2 stability will be fine), as well as econ expansion to keep up with the military costs.

This could work if we want to do that.

Main War Mission Nomads
Secondary Change Policy Offensive
Secondary Settle Bleeding Cliffs

Works on Econ and Pushes them back. The Provinces will help. Probably getting hit with a 5-6 times War Mission should give them pause. Pause we use to bum rush Iron.

Not to be a downer but can we actually afford to fight them, especially when there's the potential for us to be attacked from the other flank?

I swear, this is the tax vote all over again.

@Academia Nut Do we just keep rolling shit, or are these nomads just a big step ahead in martial tech/stat?

Nomads are naturally combat monsters when they unite. United, their population is larger than ours, entirely mobile, and trained as warriors from birth. That's not a big deal when they're as busy fighting each other as anybody else and mostly interested in raiding, but when they all unite behind a single leader you say "Yes, sir" and keep your damn head down until he passes away and his kids start fighting each other.

You know, this resettlement will probably work wonders on the ideological drift between us and the stallions
