Source? We've gotten bonuses off of that schedule before. The x/3 has been removed, it represented our longest uninterrupted streak (and is now going to be 0/4)We get a reward every 3 times in a row (we got the meteor fragments from it last time) and then it resets. We have effectively only done it 1 time in a row.
From a pure efficiency standpoint the secondary gives +2/action and the main gives +1.5/action. However, due to the -3 initial cost I think I agree that we should main it unless we have a massive surplus (also it's likely not repeatable. The upgrade is +1 econ for 1 action, which is the standard rate.)Very VERY valuable as Main, though I don't think we want the Secondary as much.
Hey @Academia Nut what type of clothing material do the People have available? Wool and leather I think you've mentioned and we recognise cotton, but do we have it? What about flax? or hemp? Silk? other types of animal fibres like mohair, camel or angora? And how do we make our fabrics, is it felting? weaving? a combination of both? If we do have weaving, what type of weaving do we have?
if we do choose The Greater Good, would it be like the old one or would it be an upgraded version ? Also, does choosing to retain the The Greater Good solidify its position among traits ?
Hmm... basalt when they're in the middle of a flood plain...-Basalt - Well, probably basalt. It's the most likely dark black stone, is resistant to weathering and abuse. Good for permanent writings. Kind of labor intensive to ship though, I don't think it's found natively on floodplains, since it's igneous rock, and transporting STONE long distances is ouch.
Can't be obsidian. Obsidian is GLASS. You can't carve it without shattering.Hmm... basalt when they're in the middle of a flood plain...
I'm quite curios as to where that came from, but it seems likely they must have gotten it from well outside of their immediate territory.
I'm also not quite sold it is basalt. Looking at the description, and considering they'd want it to be as durable as possible, it might have been obsidian. I don't believe we've seen that yet. That said, making a carving out of obsidian would be... I'm not sure how easy or hard that would be in this day and age.
If it is obsidian, holy shit is that thing valuable. Do they have a back up of any sort for this knowledge?
@Academia Nut, would there still be ecological damage from doing Copper Mines? The description implies there is but the lack of a Stability cost implies there isn't. Also, did we fix the health issues? It didn't seem like we did based on the text in the update.
including some rather rotten egg stenches that were honestly confusing to try to explain.
Well, let's hope our people are right.Copper Mine - A source of copper is known within the People's territory, and it can be expanded to produce not just small amounts of the ore for art purposes, but into a full fledged mine. The effects are unpleasant but the People think they can contain the worst of it.

Okay, there may need to be some clarification. That's 21 voting to kick Saltern, 11 specifically voting against as well as the remainder not adding it to their votes. @Academia Nut How would you parse this?
@Academia Nut
We had a fight over this because we didn't know how the system works. Do we have to write in Don't kick to not kick or is merely not voting to kick enough? I've always that it was an opt in decision
Actually you can carve Obsidian and glass now that I think about it.. you just have to do it very carefully. Glass doesn't shatter when you scratch it after all and if you can scratch it than you can carve it. actually here's an example of it or this one of carved glass. Can't be obsidian. Obsidian is GLASS. You can't carve it without shattering.
It's opt in, and I can check to see if the idea has sufficient traction.
Incidentally...
[X] Dead Priests (One compatible value: The Greater Good)
[X] [Main] Saltern
[X][Secondary] Study Health
[X][Secondary] Study Health x2
[X] [Kick] Saltern
So hopefully about 9:00
Slate sounds like an immensely reasonable choice to me. I think if they'd been obsidian plugs we would have heard about it, and while one can both grind and polish obsidian into a nicer shape any micro-ridges as a result of carelessness would be damaging and dissuade people from its use. Plus, it's just better as a cutting tool. You can polish it though. If you put enough effort into it one could make a flat surface, though I'm not sure the realistic technology needed to do that.
My main point is that I wouldn't call most rocks smooth, especially most igneous rocks. I mean, certainly possible depending on how fast it cooled, but I wouldn't really count on it. That would be much more indicative of a metamorphic rock. Perhaps something more like slate?
Edit: I fully admit that they could have just polished it immensely, but I'm trying to figure out other possibilities.
