9. Shining Armour(50 CP)- Chakra flares in a protective yellow aura around the user. The user may roll skill as a defense against thrown weapons or physical attacks. Weapons enhanced by wind chakra ignore this. Ninjutsu and genjutsu ignore this.
Is this a workable way of stating what Dictator4Hire was saying?

But... I already included it in the rest of the style in a previous post. The penultimate technique protects you from an enemy using only physical attacks.
I do support the idea of a physical endurance skill in general.

Yeah, I've read so many tai jutsu posts they have all mostly melded together in my brain at this point. I apologize if I accidentally stole your idea.

Yup that sounds extremely similar. On the bright side if we implement moves, tenets, etc. one at a time we can cherry pick which ones we want and when. Compromise and call it 50-50 on the creation credit since I came up with the counter-after-protecting idea (I think)?

Sure. But it should be YELLOW.
I mean, if such a skill exists it should have a yellow aura. Not only is it a throwback to the manga, I can rationally pretend to have SUPER SAIYAN GLOW!

The only thing we need is a monkey tail... Hmm. Working on a plan for that.

Aesthetics I don't really feel strongly about either way, but the QM's always have the last say of course.

I'm sure @MadScientist will find a way eventually.

Got it.
Plan Monkey Tail 1.0
  1. Timeskip till Konohamaru is a genin, leaving Team 7 to deal with the burden of Madara and Akatsuki.
  2. In that time, get our skillz up like mad.
  3. When Kono follows example of his boss and wheedles his old man into getting the monkey contract as genin, engineer a situation using OOC to get Hazou near Konoha.
  4. Defeat Kono for monkey contract.
  5. Sign it.
  6. ???
  7. Learn Senjutsu.
  8. Profit!!!
Alternatively,
  1. go all Blood Knight in philosophy, seek out strong enemies to fight(already started) and learn yellow aura skill.
  2. Then go to Orochimaru and get a cursed seal/ reengineer one with our sealing hax.
  3. Our Super Saiyan thematics resonate so much that seal has no choice but to unlock monkey tail!
Not entirely serious, but I am serious about the monkey tail. As serious as Kisame is about his scales. Besides, people on a rational thread should be up for transhumanism. The tail is Prehensile, so it is also a battle tool.

Word of advice: it's much easier for those on mobile if you don't use black or dark text in posts.

If we want to be able to tank shots, an Earth Jutsu armor makes more sense to me, as stone is naturally harder than flesh, and we can use our ability for martial arts on something more like martial arts.

Earth jutsu armour has elemental weaknesses.
And needs ninjutsu skill and also a willing teacher.

Quick fix to up our Taijutsu game that Lee-senpai doesn't have access to is the tree basic ninjutsu. Transformation was discussed earlier in the thread and Substitution is a conditional teleport good for dodging and closing in if properly abused. Besides once we get earth clones suddenly we have VERY competent Taijutsu clones running around with maybe an explosive seal or ten inside them for extra punch.

EDIT: What I'm saying is that don't worry, Hazou will git stronk in time ;)
//It's basic Leaf ninjutsu, not tree ninjutsu. get it right.//

In all seriousness, however, Rock Lee can, in fact, use ninjutsu. He's just really, really bad at it.

The fluff is more interesting. And it fits Hazou better than permanently learning RIGHTEOUS FACE PUNCHING because he lost a game of rock-paper-scissors and had to use that as his disguise one time.
That's my sentiment as well... It's an OOC running gag that is purposefully inane IC (which is why it was used in the infiltration --- because Hazou wanted to be seen as a buffoon) becoming one of the defining features of our protagonist. I, for one, don't want canned laughter going off in my head every time he uses his signature style. In theory, a case could be made that there is some tactical or strategic benefit to using a style with a silly name, but I don't think anyone is making that case.

It reminds me of a Harry Potter fic I'd skimmed a while ago where Harry become Voldemort's apprentice, declaring that Harry Potter is dead, and all would tremble before
Dark Lord Fildeserp.
It was very hard to take the fic's scenes involving the character seriously. (In the author's defense, she (I think it was "she") was not a native speaker of English, and the fic itself was a translation from French (IIRC). Mind you, it also had some really annoying issues unrelated to language.)

It also fits well with the thematic of Hazou developing it on a infiltration mission (which requires deception).
How about teaching Akane Face-Punching and Hazou False Pattern, if users go for that? Explanation could be that he deceived her to develop The style but she doesn't know it and developed "true" RFPS.
This is if we are willing to ignore all other styles available. Including mine. /hint, hint/

No, no, no. If anyone asks, you kicked their asses with butterflies.

He's bad at it to the point of being unable to use it - in flashback we see that his Clone Technique at the Academy does not produce viable clones (though IIRC this is also true of Naruto at that stage). He doesn't use Substitution or Transformation either.

What would that be mechanically? Control -1?
Also, do attributes contribute narratively? As in when a character gets Strength 10 he gets buff, Intelligence 10 means people say he's smart, etc.
It would be really funny if Hazou was subject to this as mechanically he has more Int the Keiko.
