That's my sentiment as well... It's an OOC running gag that is purposefully inane IC (which is why it was used in the infiltration --- because Hazou
wanted to be seen as a buffoon) becoming one of the defining features of our protagonist. I, for one, don't want canned laughter going off in my head every time he uses his signature style. In theory, a case could be made that there is some tactical or strategic benefit to using a style with a silly name, but I don't think anyone is making that case.
It reminds me of a Harry Potter fic I'd skimmed a while ago where Harry become Voldemort's apprentice, declaring that Harry Potter is dead, and all would tremble before
It was very hard to take the fic's scenes involving the character seriously. (In the author's defense, she (I think it was "she") was not a native speaker of English, and the fic itself was a translation from French (IIRC). Mind you, it also had some really annoying issues unrelated to language.)
