I missed the original chapter, I just read the it now after the edit. Then I read a quote where 'the older sealmaster' reacted to Cannai, but remembered nothing of it in the chapter.
Kagome is still mad? And/or possibly on the run from crazy biosealed Hazo who he can't trust anymore

Kagome is obviously running and hiding in the woods, far away from dangerous threats like us. He has skywalkers to make him untrackable, so unless he accepts communication through Arachnid then we will never see him again.

Eh. As long as Kagome follows orders before/during the fight, I don't really care. Anything else can wait. Mission first: as the every ninja knows and understands. And this mission has literally the highest stakes imaginable.

But side note, how does anyone ever become an S ranker the "normal" way? Take a normie jonin ninja. They've leveled 60 in ath/alertness/Melee Weapons. And then they???? How will they level chakra to 60 when a scroll pops up or even level a jutsu to anything worthwhile with the skill pyramid? No wonder so many ninja just die and all the S rankers are crazy random specs.

I'm pretty sure the answer is that there is no "normal" way to be an S-Ranker. They're defined by whatever cheat they discovered/leveraged to get to the power level they're at. Everyone else getting there through normal XP gain/expenditure is simply an Elite Jonin.

Somebody with Chakra Reserve 48 and five purchases of the Akimichi Chakra Enhancement stunt would have a pool of 615, and CR 49 raises that to 628, if I'm understanding the math right. Wouldn't even need a 50-slot. Six purchases of ACE and CR 59 provides 793, which is enough to summon Cannai and then have 180 chakra left for miscellaneous not-dying purposes.
He can, I think; he has 410 CP in his non-biosealed reserves (390 * 1.05 from ACE), so with overcharge he can reach 615 CP, which is just about enough to summon Cannai.
Although ... actually, hang on. When he had CR 38, he had 380*1.05 = 399 CP, then Moderate overcharge + Mild overdraw gives him 399*1.55 = 619 CP, rounding up. So if Cannai costs 612, the CR 38 summoning attempt should have worked.
(I think this is the CR 38 summoning attempt - apologies if it's not.)

The Akimichi bonus is separate of overcharging. It's 380 * 1.55 + 380*.05 for 608 CP.
