"Sorry, Noburi," Hazou said, raising his hands. "It's a lot to take in. I think I made a mistake. I can see that stuff too."

"You can?" Noburi asked. "Then why did I need to describe it all to you?"

"Well, I've always been able to see my own character sheet. At least, I think I have. I don't actually remember before the Swamp too well, but I must have had it even before then."
Hazou winced. "Okay, so apparently we're going to need to talk about pyramids too. Great."
As it turns out, we all have infinity skills at level zero. We should shelve that for now though."
"Oh, that might be your Thousand Yard Stare!" Hazou said.
"Oh, uh… I can see your character sheet."
"Hang on," Noburi said. "Hang on just one second, Hazou. You're supposed to be the training expert, right?"
"Hazou, when did you last put XP into combat stats?" Noburi asked incredulously.

"In the Chuunin Exams two years ago," Hazou said through gritted teeth. "But I didn't share this with you expecting you to explain it in detail to everybody, Noburi."
What the fuck is Craftsmanship (Calligraphy)?" Haru asked. "How did you just say parentheses with your mouth?"
"Yeah, also, what's going on with ninjutsu?" Noburi asked. "How come some of mine say 'Suiton', and others don't?"
"I just have a good feeling about it. Elemental Mastery is such a unique technique, and I want to push it to its limits. It feels like the sort of thing that could yield some sort of weaponizable application."
This was an extremely funny chapter. Bravo. However I do think you forgot something: if they can see their own character sheets, they'd also be able to see their aspects and the chapter titles.

"Rune that puts nature chakra into anything that walks too close" was a popular attack vector before the Toad Sages decided to be angry with Noburi for [reasons]

"But what the worm didn't know as it dived at us was that Hazō had prepared explosive runes that morning. Now I'll be the first to admit that my teammate can't punch for toffee, but on the other hand he's a sealmaster taught by the Black Hunter himself. So when he prepares explosive runes, he really prepares explosive runes. Blam!"
Noburi's tall tales during the chunin exam were.... kinda prescient.

Actually, the wounds look pretty fresh. They are at most 24 hours old.
For the sake of clarity: by "a significant time" I meant "hours". This was before I was reminded that Snake is an island, so hours wouldn't have been enough time to get to non-Oro-loyal medical attention; I assume that Oro noticed or was told by the Snakes that we were summoning Gamahebigai daily, he just wouldn't have been able to predict what time of day.

Civilians do not have elemental affinities that Noburi has detected and are assumed to have ~1 CP or less. It is axiomatic in the ninja world that civilians cannot learn to use chakra.
Interesting. So it might be that civilians just can't use chakra at all ever, or it might be that people just assume they can't so no one's ever tried teaching them.

The thing I'm specifically wondering here is whether civilians might be able to learn Sealing. They don't have enough chakra to cast ninjutsu or access ninja-level physical skills; but Sealing doesn't take noticeable amounts of chakra and Calligraphy doesn't seem like a ninja-only skill.

Yes. Although probably not CR.

Both Ath and Alt need to go to 40 and TH soon afterwards. We desperately need 30s as pyramid supports. So Phys is gonna stay there for a while.
Can I suggest MedKnow and MedNin for new 30s? They're generically useful things to level anyway in case we get separated from Noburi or he's incapacitated or etc., but also having them at 30 would unlock the biosealing stunt (subject to the lack of Carving), let us learn Chakra Scalpels (a very useful tool to have in our back pocket) and also give us access to Pain Suppression/Pain Induction/Rapid Rejuvenation.

We know that civvie reserves aren't sufficient to activate or infuse seals. Activating and infusing seals is part of Sealing. Civvies can't learn Sealing.

Yes, we are planning to use them in the plan to raise Ath/Alt/Tai to 50/49/49. If we add more 40s the pyramid, starts to look like a pier. @ProperAttorney came up with it on Discord

Does anyone remember when Hazou met that scrawny alternate version of himself in an interlude, who lightly threw shade at us for being a Taijutsu spec first, while he had just gone straight sealing and committed to it at the start? Being reminded of how long since we invested in physicals just reminded me that that dude was probably right.

(Also, if MS is anything like TH, it'll likely benefit from having chakra at a higher AB. Also, I support increasing ath first chronologically, whatever the totals the up being.)

I think the plan is to get these once we are in a position to unstagnate a few times (IE, after we've actually raised our combat skills higher than they were last barrier lol)

Deceit 30 is another option, and when we get MS it will probably also slot into the 30s, though to get it we'll need another 40 in advance (TH)

ITACHI: Oh wow, thanks, Gōketsu. I didn't understand your game, but you were always on our side, weren't you? You boosted my abilities a lot with that.
HAZŌ: How the FUCK are you this good at EVERYTHING

Notably not on here, CR 40 and Physique 40
Last step is getting a 30 (MS) which would make room for anther 40, though that's not very soon.

If we want, TJ and Ath all the way to 50 instead of 47 would give room for two more 40s, so probably TH and a choice of Physique or CR. Probably Physique, Hazou's build really isn't very chakra intensive at the moment, so 407 points of chakra will be plenty for him for quiteeeee some time. Still, CR will be a cheap 40 when we need another one to push other stuff even higher.

We'd have a fat ass pyramid of 1/4/4/4/5... lol

EDIT: and with that many 50s getting a 60 would be very easy. TJ 60/Ath 57 anyone?

EDIT 2: hmm forgot to bump alt as well so we'd need to raise smthn to 60 for 2/4/4/4/5 or get a few lower tier skills for 1/5/5/5/5

Do we know this? Have we actually tried teaching civilians to activate seals? (Probably we have, since Kagome teaching Honoka didn't need her to have any prior experience with chakra manipulation - but I don't remember it happening.)

As one of those people, I appreciate this. Thanks!

Yes. It comes up often enough that the discussion realized that seals civilians can use would make civilians immediately relevant to ninja combat and get them promoted to cannon fodder instead of staying safely in the background. Possible research into the topic has been postponed for after Uplift wins the setting.

Just an FYI for everyone, there are some minor discrepancies/errors, the MS stunt probably costs 125 XP, I plan to raise Ath to 49, the level 10/20 pyramid filler stuff is basically interchangeable etc.

But this is the general shape we want to be working towards.

Is there a general consensus on when we are going to buy they lightning element?

I continue to expect that if and when we get Minatosealing it'll probably affect what else we want to spend XP on.
Hiraishin seems to have been a case of Minato taking a jutsu that did something unusual but was too limited to be really good, and using his new sealing paradigm to make a hybrid seal/jutsu version of it that was incredibly potent.

Imagine if Hazou could just consistently be Earth shaping in the background, in a chakra efficient manner. Or, heck, built in reflective PEA or something. There's a lot of cool spice potential.

thank you all for working on this.

That said, oof.
I... really really don't want to wait that long for Minatosealing.
we're what, ~1200 xp from unlocking and softcaping Minatosealing? But this plan wants to spend a solar year grinding other stats first?

I'd much rather raise Ath, then rush MS, then spend a year grinding other stats while doing TH and Minatosealing projects.

Does that make sense? what the reasoning for not doing that order instead?
