Yes, yes they. They have the excuse of a) it being funnier that way, and b) they can claim that the info wasn't officially canon until it was included in Super. Also, that detail was in GT, so they likely discarded it with the rest of it.
But the fact that the Saiyans aren't native to Planet Plant/Vegeta has been a known setting detail for ages, and GT later used it as a plot point.
Thinking about Saiyan Masque just gave me an idea. Our current Saiyan Masque Affinity is 10%, so our PL is 10% of its' usual amount. Does this mean it would be safe to do Endurance Training as a Golden Oozaru whilst Masqued? We'd be using the full power of the form, it would just be limited by the Masque. We should be able to go GO as a pure Saiyan.

We can't use the transformation in the Saiyan Masque, and I'm fairly sure that would cripple the training much like Multiform. But never hurts to check.

Masque Affinity (Saiyan) [Incompetent]: A moment of curiosity had you request that a Sorcerer grant you a Saiyan Masque. You're not sure what the benefit to this might be, and you are horrifically unused to it, but with time, perhaps you might find some benefit from this form where your people have tried and failed before. Use research projects to both improve Saiyan Masque Affinity and figure out what it might be best used for. You have access to 10% of your base power level while Masqued, and take roughly 35 seconds to transform into it. You can use Super Saiyan and Oozaru forms in this form, at the 10% penalty. You cannot unlock new forms under Masque unless you meet all requirements, including power level.

We can definitely transform whilst using the Masque. I don't know if "capping" the form as Full Power counts as a new form, and I don't know if Endurance training requires "power level of X" as opposed to "full capped power level of this form" - it depends on how Masque limitations interact with it I guess. Between those two questions you're right it's somewhat unlikely, but worth asking about.

EDIT2: I either missed the clarifying line below, or I just got double 'd Poptart pls
You nod sharply, standing in response to Gohan's question. "Right. I'm probably only going to have a few minutes before I'm worn out. We seers have had a vision. A dragon is coming."
Gohan looks sharply up. "What kind of dragon?"
You blink. "Um. Four legs, two of them looked sorta like arms that it also walked on, two wings? Definitely not any wishing dragon I've heard about."
Gohan's lips press together. "I see." He stands. "I'm assuming you want help. What do you need? Quickly, now."
"In my vision four golden oozaru faced off against it and it looked like we were struggling," you say, speaking as quickly as possible. "We need the spirit bomb-"
"Genki dama, 'Spirit Bomb,' is such a bad translation-'"
"-not the time, Grandpa! We need it! With hundreds of thousands of saiyans on Garenhuld, a fully-charged Spirit Bomb should be able to take down anything! I'm trying to reinvent it in between training, but I want a boost. Do you know anything that could help me?"
He nods, stepping farther away from his desk. "I learned the technique from King Kai centuries ago. I don't have time to teach you right now, but I can give you pointers."
You blink and then grin. You had not expected him to know the technique. According to the histories, he never learned while he was alive. You were at most hoping for some pointers passed down from idle musings of Goku's.
Still, though, it makes sense that he learned at some point during the afterlife, and you're happy to benefit from it.
Gohan strides away, and you follow in his wake. "Most people assume that the genki dama is just a fancy way of sharing energy on a grand scale, but that's a very big misconception. If anything, it's more an application of your ki sense than your ki control."
You tilt your head. "Really? I mean, I'm glad -- I'm good at that -- but why?"
"Because it's not about pulling ki from other things into you," he replies, coming to a halt several miles from the desk.
You stop, and-
Blink.
Wait a minute.
You glance back behind you, and it's only thanks to ki-enhanced vision that you can ever see the desk, as far away as it is. "...Grandpa, what...?"
"This is my afterlife, and it does what I say," he says, removing his glasses and stowing them in his shirt pocket. "Lesson. We have little time."
You shake yourself. "Right, right. What do you mean it's not about pulling ki to you?"
He shakes his head. "Wrong emphasis. The phrasing is important: it's not about pulling ki from other things into you."
You frown. "I don't get it. Where does all that ki come from?"
"Also you," he says, smirking.
You grumble. "Grandpa, that's not how it works! If I already had all that ki, I wouldn't need a spirit bomb at all!"
"And that is why ki sense is so important," he replies, going to a knee in front of you. "Reach out and sense as much as you can."
You nod, concealing your impatience, and PING-
He shakes his head even as you hear the return. "No. That's good for combat and really measuring somebody out, but it's too detailed. Passive senses, spread as wide as you can."
You comply, spreading out, out, out, and start spreading your focus to the world around you over your own body, because you've never gotten wider than while you were meditating-
Feel the grass.
-thousands of tiny blades rippling in-
The breeze.
-whistling through the sky and calm only near you before rising to a raging tumult far above and crashing down, losing momentum on itself until a mere whisper ruffles through-
The trees.
-which root so deep into-
The earth below us.
-and finally rising up and meeting-
Me.
You feel it all, and in this place, you feel farther than you ever have before, something in the rocksoilwatergrasstrees carrying your awareness miles further than even your prodigious talents can achieve on their own. You sense an entire world, with people scattered all around, and somewhere, not far at all, a tiny home with a presence that feels like warmth and comfort, iron and will, protection and discipline, respect and confidence -- like all good mothers everywhere-
Your eyelids flutter. Grandma Videl?
Yes, that's her. You didn't think I'd work too far from home, did you? But bring it out again. No thoughts. And tell me...where is your ki?
Out your awareness spreads once more, and only once you can drift no farther do you peer again throughout it all for yourself, and...and-
* * *
Back.
* * *
You blink, pulling yourself up off the couch and away from Endivan and Fasha as you feel One's ki signature flickering back into her body. It feels...
You huff. Two, do you feel that?
Yeah, I do, Three. Can you get away from our siblings and check on her? I'm elbow-deep in note-taking with Miss Fren.
You wrinkle your nose. Lucky. Yeah, I'll throw something together. Three out.
You look down at your little siblings. "Hey, wanna play hide-and-seek?"
Fasha pops up, grinning. "Yeah!" She turns and starts to immediately run away before checking herself. "But, uh, no sensing!" Another few steps, then pause. "Or flying, that's no fair!" Once more. "And don't do that vippy thing you do!" She makes it out the door. A moment later, her head pokes back in. "Come on, E!"
Your littlest brother, still panting on the couch, hops up and sprints after Fasha.
You watch them go and wait until they're a good distance away. Mato looks up at you with a wry expression. "You're gonna do that stuff anyway."
You snort. "I mean, yeah, but not while looking for them. I just needed a minute to go check on something."
He nods. "Okay. Makes sense." He goes back to his notes. "Bye, Kakara. Love you."
"Love you too, doofus," you say, putting your fingers to your forehead.
vip
You reappear next to One. She's flat on her back, staring up at the sky with blank eyes and a massive, blissed-out grin.
...you stare at her for a second.
...Two, did we find out what drugs do at some point, and I just forgot?
...um. No? School has a unit in a couple of months on it?
Yeah, thought so.
...wwhhhyyyyyy?
I'm trying to figure out if One had some at some point. She looks like that drunk guy we saw that one time did.
...what did Grandpa do?
I have no idea. I'm gonna wake her up.
You step forward and poke her. "One. Hey, One. Wake up. I'm not re-merging you when you're like this, I don't want it to spread. Come on, One."
She giggles quietly.
"Oooooookaaaaaaaay. Grandpa, what did you do?" You put your hands on your hips, staring down at her. "...hm. What would get me up...?"
You snap your fingers as inspiration strikes. "Of course." Hey, One, Lady Dandeer found you and says she can cast a spell that'll get you waking up-
"IMAWAKEGETAWAYGETAWAY!"
One snaps out of it in a second and flashes to her feet, arms swinging wildly. After a moment of hyperventilation, she blinks. "...wha?"
You snicker. "Y- your- your face-!" You double over laughing. In the distance, you can hear Two giggling as well.
One flushes red. "Oh, very funny!"
You gradually reign yourself back in. "So, um...what exactly happened?"
"Grandpa knows the Spirit Bomb," she replies, brushing off her gi. "He gave me some advice. I need to think about it. We'll talk later."
And off she walks.
"All Is One," added to potential Elite Ki Sense talents. Hefty bonus to Spirit Bomb research gained. Slight progress made towards Elite Ki Sense.
Tomorrow you have the midterm rounds, and Miss Fren has invited you to sit in her box with her and narrate the match. Your reply? Please vote for one and only one.
[ ] Yes, please!
[ ] I'd like to sit with my family.
[ ] I wanted to sit with Fennella, actually.
[ ] Choosing is for chumps. Multiform!
TWO-HOUR MORATORIUM. THIS VOTE IS NOW CLOSED.
Because even though I ruled it non-canon, that article Lailoken unearthed on the genki dama had some beautiful imagery. Thus our title today.
I'm back, everybody! Having your thumb get cut sucks when it's your space bar thumb. Thank goodness for healing. Hope you enjoyed the update! See you around the thread!
That, is very cool. Especially with how, in a lot of ways, this isn't supposed to be just Shonen, but also Spiritualism. Because Sage who Equaled Heaven, Martial Arts, etc. etc.
Interesting that Grandpa isn't following Garenhuld/us closely enough to know about the dragon already. He must do a lot of paperwork in his role usually, unless that's some expert foreshadowing.
The real question is, when asked how we came up with this, do we grin and say "divine inspiration" like we just pulled a fast one?

The dragon is a vision that only seers have seen. Aside from them, the only one who knows about it is Dad. It's not surprising that Gohan doesn't know about it since not many on Garenhuld do.
Uh. Any idea what All is one is supposed to be? We are probably going to choose it over machine sense because it has to do with the spirit bomb but I would like some idea about what it is first.

When it comes to Dragon ball Z forget everything you know about biology. There is no way Saiyan are the product of evolution. There is no way that the super Saiyan transformation is a product of evolution when for most of Saiyan history no one could do it. And that is no where near the only biological impossibly of Saiyans.
When I try and come up with plausible explanations the only thing I can come up with is that Saiyans are the result of intelligent design and the civilization that made them was destroied by a SS2 that could not control itself. Blasting all back to the stone age.
Saiyans are neotenic great apes whose vestigial adult form only emerges under specific conditions. SSJ is their residual transformation potential coupling with their development of the neotenic form since then.
Also them turning into giant monkeys in defiance of conservation of mass. Especially with it only on the full moon when their home planet only has a full moon every 7 years.
Nope, this came up shortly before the update: Saiyans are actually native to Planet Sadala, which was destroyed in this universe. They invaded Planet Plant and renamed it Planet Vegeta.
