One night, the starships began to appear in the sky. The Enemy had arrived.
It was the duty of all Royals to fight them off as best they could, to buy time for evacuation. Dad was the first to fall, then Vegeta. Yammar and Apra broke the ancient rule, and reached SSJ2, for all the good it did them. Jaffur and Jaron were next, and now you are the last.
You think quickly, and open a telepathic channel to the escaping fleet.
"This is Karen Marsden, also known as Kakara Goku. I can only say this once, so listen closely. One of the secrets which my people, according to legend, once had and then lost was the ability to travel through time. If you have any of the remaining knowledge, please share it so that it can be reconstructed.
"The beings currently attacking Garenhuld are known to us only as the Enemy. They destroyed our ancestral world, killing people with powers we can only dream of. If you do manage to rebuild the secret, I ask that you -"
The message ended when you died.
- BAD END #15
No moratorium. Your next character is:

[ ] Gemina Kostos.LOCKED. This person has not yet been a hero. [ ] Write-in.LOCKED. All other characters are locked under one or more of the above rules.
Curious: How is it that both Jaffur and Jaron die before Kakara does, but Jaffur is one of the, "New Character," options?
Now, nega-verse omakes are always somewhat difficult for me to classify. I keep going back and forth on them. I think I'll file this under, "compliant," (there's a lot that's not right, but you all had and have no real way of knowing that) and assign the bonus to, "avoiding bad endings."
Presumably time travel, based on what was said. I presume that the game mechanic is fairly simple: play as a character until you either Bad End or win. If you Bad End, rewind back to a previous point and switch the PC, with the new PC aware of what happened.
Fulcrum's dictionary definition is:
the point against which a lever is placed to get a purchase, or on which it turns or is supported.
a thing that plays a central or essential role in an activity, event, or situation.
[X] No. The moment isn't right just yet.
-[X] Proceed with the day as normal, then grab Jaron during the normal training session.
Sleight of Hand
You take a deep breath, and settle in to meditate once more.
You have a few hours through which to wait.
* * *
Raising your hand, you rap sharply on the door and then step back.
"Dad! Someone's at the door!"
"Can you get it, sweetie? I'm busy."
"Make Jaron do it!"
"What? Come on, I just woke up!"
"You're closer!"
"Yeah, since you walked right past the front door and went upstairs to your room!"
"Liar!"
"You little-!"
"Hey, that's enough, kids! Jaron, just get it. You're right there."
"Ugh, fine." You hear your friend approaching. The door opens. "Yeah, hi-" He blinks, registering your identity. "Oh, it's you." He blinks. "Wait. We're training again?"
"Yeah," you respond. "Gotta stay in shape!"
"We've trained ten hours this week!" he protests, stepping backwards.
"That's the deal," you reply, shrugging. "You want to learn how to fight, right?"
He narrows his eyes. "I can fight." Communication [Kakara vs. Jaron]: 124 vs. 37. Effortless victory.
You roll your eyes-
tsew
-and set the edge of your hand to his throat for a heartbeat before stepping back. Belatedly, he starts to flinch. You sigh, crossing your arms. "Yeah, so can I, and I'm better. When the aliens come, do you want me to bring you with, or tell somebody to sit on you?"
He flushes, turning away. "You know what? Fine. I'll get my stuff."
"Somebody's grouchy," you say, leaning against the door frame.
"Shut up, Karen," he snaps, climbing the stairs. "I'm not in the mood for this today. Dad!"
"Yeah?" replies Valentine from somewhere on the first floor.
"Karen's here! We're going training."
"Oh, okay! Hi, Karen!"
"Hi, Mister Somerlad!" you reply. "How are you today?"
"Doing fine! Busy!"
"I won't distract you, then!" you reply.
Jaron reappears. "Right, we going?"
"Sure are," you say, laying your hand on his arm. Dandelor? Incoming.
vip
The instant you make your transmission, the feel of sorcery slams into your senses as Dandelor catches you and Jaron in a ward. Jaron blinks, frowning. "Karen? Do you feel-?" His eyes widen as your doubles climb to their feet beyond the ward, powering up and already disguised. "What the heck-?!"
You reach out and pull him back, spinning him around to face you. "Jaron, this is important; stay calm."
"What's going on here?" he demands, eyes flickering around. He focuses on Dandelor and freezes. "Does- does he have a tail?"
Your eyelid twitches as you glance back over your shoulder at the sorcerer. "Thanks. Making this a lot easier on me."
Dandelor shrugs. "He needed to be told. Might as well get it all out of the way."
You glare at him, turning back to your friend. "I need you to trust me here, Jaron."
He frowns. "What? Of course I trust you. Just tell me what's going on!"
You rear back at that, surprised. "Oh. I thought you'd...you know what, never mind. I'll take it. Come with us. I can explain, but we really need to get under cover."
"Anywhere in particular we should set up, Scion?" asks your double.
"Nowhere," you reply. "Just spar with each other. Make it look like you're teaching him about ki projection. He still needs work."
"Hey!" interjects Jaron. You ignore him.
"Understood, Scion," says your double. She and Jaron's double immediately square off.
Dandelor steps forward. "Alright, now let's get going. We're heading two miles in that direction." He points.
You nod and lift off, grabbing Jaron's hand to lead him.
He follows. "Can you tell me what's happening while we move?"
"I can start," you say. "I know what's going on with your memories."
He stiffens, his hand going rigid in yours. "What are you talking about?"
"I know why you keep thinking that you recognize things without really knowing what's going on," you say. "We're going to fix it."
Then, with the cloying feeling of flying through a ward, the world parts in front of you like a set of curtains, and you behold Hall Senzu.
Jaron stops dead in midair, eyes wide. "Whoa."
"It's impressive, isn't it?" says Dandelor, following you through the ward. "Let's go. You have a lot of people waiting to see you, Jaron."
Jaron turns, frowning up at the sorcerer. "Who are you? I feel like I should recognize you, but..."
Dandelor smiles at him. "We've met before. You don't remember, but we have." He glances down at the castle, to where Raditz stands on the battlements. "Let's get moving. We need to act fast."
The three of you head down to the castle, and land amidst a crowd of Senzus. They crowd in slightly, pushing for a better glimpse of their long-Sealed Scion. Jaron shies away, shoulders hunching, and you step between them and him. "Give him some space, people," you say. "This is confusing for him."
"Indeed," says Raditz, touching down at the head of the crowd. He steps forward. "How much have you told him?"
"Just the basics," you say. "I was about to get into the rest."
"Karen?" says Jaron, his eyes wide. "I...what's going on?"
You look over your shoulder at him, appraising his mood. After a moment's thought, you decide to take the direct route. "You keep having strange dreams of a life you've never lived," you say, turning towards him. "When you wake up, they're just dreams, but things keep echoing at you in a way that makes you think of the dreams. The trouble is, you can barely remember anything about those dreams while you're awake. Without being able to check, you can't tell what's real and what's fake. It doesn't help that your Mom keeps on telling you that you're wrong about things, all the time."
Jaron takes a step back. "How do you know this?"
You straighten, inhaling and exhaling. "Because your brother told me."
Something flashes in Jaron's eyes. Then he winces, touching his temple. "I...don't have a brother..."
"Yes, you do," you say, watching his body language carefully. "He's eight and a half years older than you, and he's always been around."
He screws his eyes shut. "I kn- I don't...that's not right...is it?" He opens his eyes, hissing in frustration. "Why did I want to say, 'I know?'"
"Because you do know," you say. "You've always known." You palm a globe of ki and step forward, holding it to your friend's chest. You shove the ball of energy directly into his body, overcharging his network.
Jaron hisses, his aura unspooling from his body. "I...I remember..."
"How much?" you ask.
He blinks. "I...what's his name?"
You frown. "What?"
"My brother, what's his name?" says Jaron.
"Oh," you say, blinking. You nod at him. "His name is Jaffur." Sorcery [Jaron vs. Dandeer]: 167 vs. 149. At last, pass.
Jaron's breath catches. And then he screams. His aura explodes, straining at the limits of his current power of six and a half million. You see him starting to dart away and step forward, grabbing him.
"Let me go," he breathes, his pupils dilated all the way.
"No," you say, tightening your grip. "We have-"
"LET ME GO!" He fires a blast into you, point-blank, and you grunt as you spike high enough to take it without getting hurt.
"Scion, are you alright?!" snaps Raditz, powering up as well.
"Fine," you grunt, still holding onto your friend. "Jaron, calm down."
"I'M GOING TO KILL HER!"
"Do you want Jaffur freed or not?!" you snap, shaking him.
Even as fired up as Jaron presently is, you're so much stronger than him that his teeth rattle as you shake him. It sobers him a little bit, and he stops fighting you. He doesn't power down at all, though, and he barely calms. "She's dead. She's dead. I'm going to find her and I'm going to kill her, Kakara, do you understand? You can't stop us. She's dead!"
You grit your teeth and slap him. "Forget her! Jaffur is still trapped, Jaron! Before we do anything else, we're freeing him! Do you understand that? Do you even care anymore?"
Jaron snarls, tearing himself out of your grip. He starts pacing back and forth, growling to himself at odd intervals.
You keep an eye on him, even as you step back to give him space. "Dandelor, are you ready?"
"I am," he says. "I've turned the whole castle into a focus. It's just waiting on activation. We'll need Jaron to cool down and let me cast, but once we do that, we can get Jaffur free."
Jaron wheels on Dandelor. "Yeah? 'Cool down?'"
Dandelor doesn't even blink. "I at least need you to stop moving."
Jaron writhes in frustration at that. He drags himself to a halt, fingers clenching and unclenching. His breath comes harsher and faster. Credit to him, though; he does not move.
You look back at Dandelor, and see him already hard at work, casting. "It'll only take time, now," he says, fingers twisting into position that makes your own hurt in sympathy. "Best settle in to wait. I'll let you know when I'm ready to start casting."
You look at Jaron. He's staring up into the sky, whispering furiously to himself.
Threading through his ki, you feel a familiar echo.
You have entered the final minutes of Jaffur's captivity. What do you do?
[ ] Sit patiently and wait.
[ ] Visit Jaffur one last time to see if his head is in the right space. Rebalance him if he needs it.
[ ] Touch base with somebody before Jaffur's out and things accelerate to their conclusion.
-[ ] Write in who (at the moment, you are in Senzu Hall, sealed from the outside world. Only Senzus are present; all other conspirators are waiting to meet you at another locations).
[ ] Vision time.
-[ ] Write in past- present- or futuresight, and topic.
[ ] Write-in.
MANUAL MORATORIUM; APPROVAL VOTING.
Next update, it all comes due. I feel a little mean cliffhangering you all now of all times...but you can take it.
Hmm. Visit Jaffur or stay here. Which one needs us more at the moment?
[ ] Visit Jaffur one last time to see if his head is in the right space. Rebalance him if he needs it.
I don't think Jaffur needs us more right now, in fact I'm sure he needs us less. But of the two, he's the one who has the chance of getting past us if he decides to blow the plan and go ofter his mother.
Got to talk to Berra, everything else is up to the Jaron and the adults, nothing we can do plus Juffer already knows what's happening through Jaron.
Time to work on clan issue with the fallout.
Hm.... So. A good way, I think, to break it to Berra would be to explicitly submit to a Mind Walk (or whatever the technique is called, I forget). Shows trust.
I think we might want to be ready for surprises because I doubt it'd go so smoothly. If we're visioning we can't act.
Jaffur is as prepared as he can be. Jaron is not, and we're the best suited to restraining him, as well as dealing with things like surpise sealed bonus asskicking coming out
Mind reading of everything leading to this provides context to Berra plus he might have new ideas and issues to prepare for that we might have missed better than using words to explain it.
Jaron would have Juffer to restraint him in mind plus Raditz and the Senzus can handle him or any surprises. Raditz is a Super Saiyan right?
Problem is, Berra doesn't want to believe we're right.
Because that would imply he failed again. And that would break him.
So he wouldn't even try, he'd just say the wizards and the treacherous Senzu tricked us.
Remember, he did this in the first place because Dandeer exploited a massive trauma of his to trigger his Implacable Man trait. Until that trauma's been addressed, he'll do everything in his power to avoid the subject.
Dandeer is good at long term planning. However, more and more it seems that she is quite bad at conceptualizing that anyone else might have the same ability.
Did he tell us this? Because that's breaking a hell of a lot more laws than just secluding house Senzu for a few years. As in, Berra might have to go "you were right, but I'm still going to execute you," level of laws.
Either way, I think we should stay here. The only chance we have of actually confining Jaffur if he decides to kill Dandeer is with us there. Dandelor and Raditz really can't be trusted enough to stop him instead of joining in, and Yammar sure as hell wouldn't even if he somehow knew.
I'm leaning towards a vision. We have the entire conspiracy looking out for us, but at the same time we're the only one who can conceptualize the truth about Dandeer aside from Dandelor, which might matter, given how proximity affects the sight. I think a quick vision, then being ready to act is the name of the game here.

The whole thing is going to blow up public soon whether its Juffer's return or Dandeer and the conspirators making moves against each other so what would Berra do?
We have to be there in his presence and do the mind thing also reassuring him at the same time along with his wife.
Actually I think we should do it to Kala first since she doesn't have his trauma so better in helping us support him through it and she knows him better.
Just focusing on Jeffur is just ignoring the time bomb with our father and clan politics.
I feel like there's a limited window before people see him lost control especially with the Dandeer and the conspirators start fighting soon after.
We must not make him look lost when unsealing crisis erupting especially the grandparents joining the Senzu.
Should have talk to Maya and the others just in case before with all those powers faring up.
Once Jaffur is free the only thing that MUSThappen here has been completed. Will any action we take risk that and is that action worth the risk? Personally I say no, I don't want to roll the dice on that, but I'd sacrifice a lot to make sure Jaffur and us come out of this alive and unsealed.
I honestly feel like right now is a sit patiently and wait for everything to either explode disastrously or go perfectly there's not really much we can do at this point that isn't just going to distract you form what is happening or cause something to go wrong
Either way, there's probably a beacon on the kid that will pop through those shields.
So I'm halfway convinced that an attempt to unSeal Jaffur is simply going to call down the sorcerous version of an orbital strike on the general area. Or set off a killbot failsafe where he goes all Terminator on the area.
Dandeer has had years to prepare for this day, after all, and we know she's good at prepwork.
So a couple surprises are probably in play if we roll badly.
I'm leaning towards sitting and waiting. This is the wrong time to be travelling out of body.

I'm in general agreement with Carrnage here- I seriously doubt she has proper contingencies for 2-4 Super Saiyans, one of whom is also a Sorcerer and inside the seal, trying to break it.

She allegedly killed several thousand Saiyan sorcerers singlehandedly.
We still don't know why, or what she used all that life energy for; Dazarel and the Spirit Bomb has made me it obvious that said power is fungible.
And my experience with Naruto makes me instinctively suspicious of defenses that basically amount to "testing my capacity".
Her husband is a Super-Saiyan. Her first son is a Super-Saiyan. Her father in law is a Super-Saiyan who detests her.
Her former cult is in part led by yet another Super-Saiyan who detests her.
And worships a fifth Super-Saiyan who detests her.
I suspect her initial seal design accounted for at least one Super-Saiyan fueled attempt at cracking it, as a matter of minimal competency. Two to add a safety factor; Grandma Appa and Gold Man Genocide have been known to work together.
And that's she's worked on contingencies since her political situation worsened.
The wild card here is Jaron/Jaffur's Sorcery and Kakara's Sight.
