On the other hand, we enter this residence routinely, on a regular basis, and we know that Dandeer herself is not present, giving us time to snap-shot power up before the mistress of the house arrives.

Also a relevant concern, since Dandeer may have chosen guards whose resting power level is high, precisely to avoid this kind of problem.

@PoptartProdigy , given Kakara's ki sense I'm sure she knows the answer to this question: what's the guards' power level? Also, is Berra awake and if so, where is he?

The hard part isn't "can we succeed in convincing Jaron to come train with us on a weekend," it's that:
1) Convincing him to do so now will likely take time, since he's still in bed. Time in which the guards may be alerted, or for that matter their being out of the picture may be noticed.
2) Convincing him later risks Dandeer coming home which is arguably our worst-case scenario, especially since she may have noticed something amiss from all the behavior of Yammar's Vegetan conspirators.

It's a tradeoff.

I asked about that actually. Dandeer is scheduled to spend the day in the Hall, presumably because of her job as regent, so she should remain there even if we wait.

I think we should inform Maya so that she doesn't worry in case Jaffur/Jaron/Berra/us need to raise our PL outside the Hall. That should also kill time so that Jaron can wake up and we can take him for training.

The guards are professional warriors, clocking in at fifteen million. The basic cap. Berra is awake -- he sleeps even less than Kakara does -- and in the Hall.
So if I understand that rightly, they are continuously at max power, even when not specifically on alert. And we would have to spike well up towards or beyond a hundred million to speedblitz them. At which point basically anyone on the planet could detect us, and Berra in particular would react, the way he reacted when we blew up that mountain.

That said, Poptart... semi-related question. Did we teach Maya ki sensing after she found out about the Masquerade in the aftermath of the attack on Dazarel?

They spike occasionally, when repositioning. That said, they usually sit at resting. In general, if I'm asked what somebody's power level is, I'll give Kakara's best estimate of their max.

You taught her prior to her learning about saiyans. Doing so was only viable because there were, at the time, very strict rules about power level usage. They've relaxed slightly with the scouts' capture and Maya's introduction to the Masquerade, but they'll be going back up in a month or so as the fleet approaches.

Okay.

So, in Kakara's tactical assessment, is it viable for Kakara to use her greater ki control to power up to some level (call it X) and abruptly neutralize the guards before they have time to sound an alarm, without other people noticing the power level spike and reacting strongly to that in and of itself?

Because that's pretty much what the "stealth game" option sounds like it's supposed to do, and it's presented as a viable option along with others, but people are worried that it's more or less sure to get us spotted by Berra's ki sense.

Her plan is to use her Ki Control to oppose the guards' Ki Sense, enabling her to get into a position where she can sneak-attack them -- ideally without needing to spike at all. It's a viable plan, but relies on her not getting caught. Her pulse-spiking is a last resort, because while she can't feel what Berra's doing through the Hall's wards, he can sense out. Thus, she doesn't know if he's suppressing to five and distracted, or if he's at absolute full power and looking for her specifically. That's discounting anybody else, but frankly, Kakara's confident enough in her skills and power that she doesn't think anybody other than her father has a realistic chance.

Or someone's.

The really hard part about this vote is that I get the feeling that things quite simply can not go to plan. It would be a huge anti-climax.
This world is a largely realistic quest; not in its setting, but preparation, surprise, and ambush are all actually effective here, even for the protagonists, and we aren't going to get screwed over by the corollary of the unspoken plan guarantee. Note that we could very well have known the truth about Dandeer from the start if we had rolled better on starting rolls, or dealt with her earlier; this wasn't guaranteed to be a climactic confrontation. The way I see it, this would be the results of the plans. Keep in mind this is largely informed supposition, not some word of QM from discord or w/e, but I think this is probably what the votes correspond to barring us missing some major info on our conspiracy being cracked or on the defenses of Dandeer's house:

[ ] Yes. Go now and extract Jaron to Hall Senzu.
-[ ] Smash and grab. Get in, remove him before anybody can notice or object, and get out.
Essentially guaranteed success, with very few moving parts; there are only 3 people who could stop us at our full power, of which are on our side and Dad is unlikely to come and interfere with our power level spiking. It also, however, has a set consequence for how fast Dandeer will notice us and respond; only a catastrophic failure could prevent us from pulling this stage off. Very Low Risk of Failure, Low Time Reward; there's not much chance of screwing this up but this is the baseline we'll be comparing other results too.

[ ] Yes. Go now and extract Jaron to Hall Senzu.
-[ ] Stealth game. Before you move in to get Jaron, take down the sentries. It'll give you some time before anybody can raise the alarm, and keep them out of harm's way.
Fairly low chance of us being stopped; they're not expecting this. Taking them out isn't the question, but taking them out without an obvious fight is; we have solid odds to gain some time, but if we fail our situation could become worse than that of plan 1, like if berra isn't distracted; our power level spiking is far less noticeable than even a one sided fight, and the time gained isn't a huge buff like for the lower options. Low Risk of being noticed, Moderate Time Rewards.

[ ] Yes. Go now and extract Jaron to Hall Senzu.
-[ ] With catlike tread. Sneak past the sentries, remove Jaron from his bed, and depart with no one the wiser. Jaron sleeps in on weekends, so this will, in theory, give you the most time before anybody gets suspicious.
This one doesn't really involve our overwhelming combat advantage, but does make good use of our surprise and setup. There's a chance we'll get caught in the act, though, which is worse than the first because we'll have to deal with the sentries after being caught rather than during, which will lose us some time; with a very bad roll, this could result in a confrontation right here, although I would expect a normal failure to not end up much worse than vote 2. Moderate risk, Great Time reward.

[ ] No. The moment isn't right just yet.
Wildcard option, effects depend on subvote and rolls. Various Risk, various rewards (including rewards of types other than time, such as public support).

[ ] Multiform. Bear in mind your limits on this skill; today in particular, they will be important.
Increases the success chance of this stage, at the cost of removing 1 of our uses if we end up needing it later. Reduces risk by some amount.

Assuming that we do in fact have the advantage of surprise it should also have the greatest chance of success and give the most time. Us taking Jaron out for training is not suspicious.

That's true, btu we also don't know what dandeer has in the way of surveillance on Jaron. She might be watching him more closely when he's with us, even if she doesn't expect this particular eventuality, or perhaps she'll be less busy then; maybe she has a spell on the armory so that subvote makes her respond a tad faster, or one of our conspiracy members gets impatient and weakens opsec. That it decreases risk is certainly plausible, but unlike the three subvotes of <[ ] Yes. Go now and extract Jaron to Hall Senzu> they take place at differing times and thus have a whole bunch of other variables that differ between them so the comparison is harder to make with surety.

It just doesn't seem fair for magic to have more information gathering abilities then the sight.

Magic doesn't seem to have any real level of Precognition, and if it has post-cognition its almost certainly worse than ours. Heck, even our present-viewing is extremely potent and lets us communicate with the afterlife; it's how we got the spirit bomb. In this case (ie, putting up alarms, or spying on people for long periods of time without getting caught), mundane technology outstrips the sight (take Dr. Gero's surveillance as an object lesson of this). I see no reason to assume that the sight must be better than magic at the parts of information gathering that it is bad at, rather than simply far outstripping magic at its specialty.

No I would have expected the sight to be 5 times better.
I have literally no idea where you pulled that multiplier from.

Never mind that we have the ability to see not only the Present but the Past and the Future, Astral Project, and pull off the DBZ equivalent of the Naruto Empty Palm style.

What, exactly, does "5 times better" look like, and why exactly should the Sight be "5 times better" than Magic?

And I think that's a great time to close this vote. Everybody look at the shiny tally!

We needed to roll a 100 to get the sight we only needed a 95 to get magic.
