No, no, no - you've got that backwards.

Russ knows about Doom.

Yeah, we don't have any hard evidence, but Russ is still going to report what he's heard to the government: that Doom was seen, by him, attempting to bribe a criminal to attack a fine, upstanding businessman such as Doofenschmirtz. in addition, he was also overheard confessing to leaking information to known supercriminals, and practically setting up the attack himself. That's a confession.

Mayor or not, hard evidence or not, this is a sign that the US Government might actually be able to start making moves against Doom directly. Doom might be focusing his attention away from us, or arrested outright, all above-board and legally, and we don't have to lift a finger to make it happen.
Oh, that's why PB told Doom to clarify what he wanted him to do. He was setting him up.

Also, did we not get Pollo Loco's card after that too?
Not yet. Pollo Loco has entered the "deck" of random drops and you are very likely to receive his card the next time you encounter him.

For those who missed the joke, "Senor Poco Loco" was an antagonist in the unproduced Disney film Chanticleer. He would have looked something like the chicken featured below.

Blot hasn't gotten a foothold here yet, do you think there's a way we could use his comparatively low stewardship to prevent him from building one?

Wow, this Quest's reference pool includes some deep cuts.

While I agree with the ghist of this, Doom actually didn't confess to this.

"I suppose it was a rather clever scheme. Quietly ensure that detailed plans for the precinct's headquarters were leaked to minor villainess Zapphire, safe in the knowledge she would make the force look weak, highlight the need for new Superheroes, and further destroy the reputation of Toons everywhere. But of course, not quite so clever a plan as, say, allowing you to discover a willing patsy, only to ensure that tainted knowledge ended up in the hands of the far more capable and particularly comedic Quackerjack, thus making a fool out of you and your entire government. Hypothetically speaking. Why, I imagine you'd even have to remove that irritating stooge you have sitting in the Chief's chair, and replace him with the one man who didn't get sidetracked. Give my regards to Commissioner Cleaver, I look forward to bamboozling him."

The Blot lays it all out as a hypothetical, and then Doom cuts directly to try and make the offer without reponding to this.

Doom is trying to get the man who's more or less feeding half of america axed.

Remember, the government still has mixed feelings about the whole "we're feeding the nation" thing in that they don't like our near-monopolizing it. The massive fat stacks of cash we pay them each year though, they like that.

Doofquest, where the minutest of minor characters can shine.

Is it just me or is doom the only king the government could actually take on and win?

I feel like most Kings who don't have some kind of future-tech or reality-warping magic could probably be taken down by Uncle Sam giving a concerted effort to doing so. It'd leave them open to attack by other kings, but they could probably take down Shego, Glomgold, Xanatos if they catch Owen by surprise, that kind of thing.

...us.

Yeah, but that they don't like it, doesn't mean that if we go down along with our food production facilities, that means half of america might starve to death. By sheer virtue of that fact alone the US Government can't afford for us to go down and risk the food supply being compromised.

Has Commissioner Cleaver been added to the hero cards shortlist or does he not matter?

So it's exactly as bad as it looks with the slight upside that we might be able to recruit PB though I doubt doing so would be anywhere near easy
Recruiting him? Functionally impossible. The man... er... inkblob of probably masculine gender... is far too egotistical and arrogant and, frankly, talented to play second fiddle to someone like Doof.

But we may be able to work with him.

Well, at least we have some time, and a way to boost Russ' loyalty which is good.
Bad news, we have to deal with the Blot, and those stats!:o Those are King level stats.
And the kind of king-level stats that make Doof feel inadequate, no less!

Ok, that's a bit far, but "sending internationally wanted supervillains to attack a very rich taxpayer" should be a big concern.

With stats like that he'd crack the game in half.
His stats may not actually be that much better than Temujin, though Temujin is greatly handicapped by his maluses with modernity.

This is all assuming that:

A) The government cares that Doom is committing crimes which considering Shego runs a mega corporation despite being wanted in eight countries and actively flouting Super laws I doubt

B) That the claims of an admitted master criminal is in any way taken as actual evidence

C) The Government is in any position to actually act on that information

D) That we'd want them to, which as someone that wants LA for ourselves I personally don't
Blot could definitely become an ally, or a friendlier nemesis, but he would never be available as a full-on hero unit.
Ah, so the one bright spot from this just became slightly dimmer

So really all we got out of this is knowledge of just how fucked we are, became slightly less fucked from Russ enjoying the prospect of having a nemesis and are now also fucked in another way because Doom knows about Russ

Great

I've got a vivid memory of Cecil Turtle using that gag to beat Bugs Bunny in a race, Bugs wins but says loudly how fast he was going, and gets arrested for speeding. Am I imagining that?

as someone who is genre savy and a spy does russ keep recorders on him at time to record conversations? Cause that seems like something he would do.

Can you just... not do this?

PLEASE?

Just once can we encounter an in-game reverse- one that even promises interesting possible future actions that will be fun, memorable scenes and confrontations and exciting events- without a saltstorm?

I, for one, allow myself to be happy without having to win 100% of the time. It's much less stressful.

We aren't fucked in the least. Blot certainly isn't going to ruin us.

Doom won't be able to actually use that knowledge and that is traded out by the fact that it is perfectly possible for us to do a Nemesis team-up with Russ.

This means character development for Russ.

That is beautifull and horrorfying. The executions of the Toon jokes in the chase is just briliant, but my laughter was cut short on seeing's PB's Stats. Well at least he isn't completely malicious and would be willing to work with us in his spare time. Also Russ got a Nemesis!:)

Reminder that Mickey Mouse was somehow able to pull the wool over the Blots eyes many times in the comics. If the Blots stats are that good what kind of monster is Mickey? Goofy should probably start looking into him next turn. It would be hilarious if Mickey is some kind of shadow figure ruling many smaller companies with an iron fist. The Doofquest equivalent of what Disney became IRL.
