So....how many times do you think we need to hire the Dickens to get Commodore? I think 5-6 times for no reason in particular.
Maybe the more interesting the case the better the rapport? I'd give it 4-6.

Hm..I'm thinking 3-6Maybe the more interesting the case the better the rapport? I'd give it 4-6.
Might as well throw in 2-6 to make a complete set. We had hired the Dickens once too so now we have all the number from 1-6. Let the Dice God Rolls it out!!
Woo, completely unearned huge wins in intrigue yet again! Our real superpower is to bumble through Intrigue winning everything we see. Actually... Have we ever failed an intrigue national action?
Don't forget, this means we now get a small, but signifigant bonus to EVERY occult action we ever take.Well, at least we´ve got an explicit Occult stat for Doof now - meaning that if we got nobody else, we theoretically could look into Occult actions ourselves as a last resort...
Small mercy, I guess
So overall, unless we have a non-Toon Intrigue action where we really need the +11, hiring the Dickens Detective Agency is a waste of money.
Third intrigue action at +55 for the cost of money and a personal action is prettttttty usefulI wouldn´t call them a waste of money...maybe "a bit situational", though.
toontown railroad, we failed that one but then someone stepped in and did it themselvesWoo, completely unearned huge wins in intrigue yet again! Our real superpower is to bumble through Intrigue winning everything we see. Actually... Have we ever failed an intrigue national action?

So "Mr. Chairman" was embezzling ACME funds - either for some under-the-counter deals or his own pockets...Regardless of which, definitely interesting.
Honestly? For all his Intrigue expertise, the Commodore isn't worth it for most actions, and especially not against Toons. He doesn't get bonuses, neither from Loyalty nor Traits (he apparently brought "his entire dynasty" and none of them had a single applicable trait).
Dennis the Duck (Search for an Instructor)
02
Dennis was discouraged at first, but he eventually found a kindly old man willing to teach him more about unusual martial arts. He seemed to catch on to the concept swiftly and will surely prove an able teacher.
what?
Overall I'm pretty happy with this. There was a lot I was worried about with this plan and I'm glad it worked out but for the one failure.
We've had a few really good rounds. I guess we were due for a loss somewhere.
a 2 leading to success? Or is this a case of Dennis 'succeeding' but not getting anything out of the action? I think I remember it mentioned that a low Personal Action roll cant be that bad.
tbf, we literally can't afford to do that on a regular basis. Nothing stopping us from picking one of the cheaper options in the future, mind; we might find it worthwhile to pay them a small amount to handle lower-priority actions regularly just so we can maintain our rapport with them.Third intrigue action at +55 for the cost of money and a personal action is prettttttty useful

When MiH gets off work, gets food (I think he eats food), and raises his secret lair out of the bayou so the DoofQuest planning team can reconvene.
Right now, the commodore can hold his own against Russ in his element (toons), imagine what he could do with loyalty bonuses, it would be like having our own Xanatos, in addition, unlike Russ, a loyal commodore would repport about any masquerade-breaking finding than Russ wouldn't.
With the exception to the "Appease the feds" action, we've only seen regular crits in every roll that exceeded double the amount of the DCSo, doubling the DC gets crits. Do we get Super crits from quadrupling it? Say, we got absurdly lucky and rolled 2 nat 100s and a 50ish, and ended up hitting 300 on a Rolodex recruitment? Would our new recruit get absorbed alongside some of their own contacts, or would they get some of their issues autoresolved, or what?

Why in gods name did we roll ths high?[ ] Appease the Feds
DC 45
91+15+28+4+89+15+28+4=274
EXTREME CRITICAL SUCCESS
Because RNG Gods and Pucci's Stand decided to bless us wtih that ultimate chad that is Bob Russ
The highest multiplier was around x6
Why in gods name did we roll ths high?
Edit: aight so buying bueno was 16x times (not that it seems to count)
In the future, I'll be changing how explosions work- it turns out that adding all the bonuses again makes the resulting roll very high. Instead, an explosion will just give you an extra 1d100.
So how can we improve this stat spread best with another hero?
