Alrighty, time to drop some logimaths.

KITSUNE
+Solid Diplo/Occult, will function as a solid switch-hitter to allow Goofy and Janna some breathing room
+Personal Kitsune-based Bias
+Likely has connections to the Masquerade operating in Doofania.
+Good to bring to the Auction, stat-wise
-Theoretically has a lower chance of accepting a job offer.
?May already know some folks at the Auction, for better or worse...
?Is already selling Janna illegal fireworks.

WENDY
+Another Learning unit to fit our "Unbridled SCIENCE" aesthetic.
+A.I. research specialist to give Von Duck some breathing room
+Diplo switch-hitter for Goofy
+May provide a non-hostile takeover route into Funtelligence.
-Might not like the weaponization of her friendly A.I.s...
?Will be DELIGHTED to meet Norm and CJ.
KITSUNE

-We know nothing about her character so can't predict her or be reasonably sure of what she'd want
?Because the cards are intentionally vague we don't actually know how good her Diplomacy is just that it's at least 3 and at most 45

WENDY

+Because she's a canon character we can at least somewhat reasonably predict her
+From what we know of her her having good Diplomacy is very possible

Also, didn't Janna meet her at the magic baazar? So she's probably already familiar with the auction. Might be a nice surprise to show Xanatos we are more competent than we look.
I don't think so? This is the only quote that says anything about her visit to the Bazaar, other than the analysis. Neither mention anything about it.

Decent Success

Janna did not seem to believe you at first when you handed her a credit card, gave her directions to a secret magical marketplace, and told her to use her best judgement. Once she shook off the cognitive dissonance, she grabbed the card and was gone faster than you could blink. She returned two weeks later with an enormous pile of what she has deemed 'spooky stuff', as well as a couple of 'contacts with the locals', whatever that means.

Janna has become better acquainted with the Magus Bazaar! Examine Lesser Artifacts action unlocked!

I think the card says Kitsune lives in Sokyo.

How she met Janna is a question for the ages.
The card doesn't mention Sokyo. Though it is a good question on how she met Janna.

Multi-tailed fox that spirited herself to America. Sells illegal fireworks to mere mortals and Janna.

'contacts with the locals'

Hmmmmmmm

Where else could one run into a magical fox and go "ay honey pass me some of those fireworks"?

Nope just the bazaar

I mean, she could just live in Doofania. Between the toons, the humanoid animals, the supers, the science experiments, and the literal monsters running around a Kitsune ain't gonna draw too much attention.

She could be the fox-spirit of illegal fireworks. Wherever there is someone in need of illegal fireworks, there she appears, ready to sate all their pyrotecnichal needs... For a price.

All I can see now is the bit from GF where Mabel's holding a really big firework rocket (lit, obviously) screaming "I AM A GOD OF DESTRUCTION" but with a white n red fox in the background with a look on their face like "Yes! YES!"

Found the perfect video for the feelings Dr. Doof, or Technor, will have if he learns about how the laughter of children is a highly effective power source. That it's a source of power that can apparently be stored easily makes it even more ridiculous. I've been meaning to write a series of omakes about how that could be used, and the reactions of the various hero units, possibly including publishing the information in a way that would spite Doom, but I really don't have the time to do it myself. Have at it if you want to.

I'm going to guess that the Kitsune we can recruit is one of the yako type of kitsune. They are the mischievous, chaos causing type. She probably has a trait like Janna or Ludivine that causes her to do something chaos-y.

so what we set up a massive theater and have live toon shows for kids to laugh at while near the collectors?

Or has a perk like Jumbs that says "Must. Cause. Chaos. MUST. CAUSE. CHAOS!"

Probably a crippling problem with actually playing nice with bureaucracy, preferring to instead use their abilities to pull wool over ALL THE EYES

She's also unambiguously a villain. Given she's apparently from one of the tabletop campaigns, we have no idea how bad she could actually be. We might be looking at one of the really bad "seduces men and then eats their livers" types for all we know.

Not sure where you heard that. I made her specifically for DoofQuest.

I kind of extrapolated it since she seemed to be in the same vein as Russ. My bad then, she's a complete OC and we know nothing about her besides "villain".
It's a logical step to make, based on the pattern, but yes. Kitsune is an OC made explicitly for possible recruitment in DoofQuest.

That being said, she is inspired by a few Disney things. An OC character that draws from applications of Disney lore.

I mean, Doof gets a red card, as do Wile E. Coyote, Norm Prime, and TECHNOR, to name a few. Villain isn't a particularly damning accusation.

Plus, we do know a couple of other things. Like her engaging in the pettiest crime on a regular basis, and her ability to interact with Janna on multiple occasions without harming her, which I think sets an upper bound on how outright malicious she could be.

Also, the liver eating is a kumiho thing, not a kitsune thing. She's probably going to have a loose notion of property rights, and the general trickster aesthetic covers a wide range of amusing to outright harmful behavior depending on her natural disposition and her Loyalty, but I don't think we need to worry about her feasting upon our flesh.

(Full disclosure, this is based on vaguely remembered weebshit, the kumiho SCP, and a quick verification read-through of the kitsune Wikipedia page. Throw in the influence from the Disney side of things, though, and I don't think she'll be an unreasonable pickup. Better than Wendy, up to you, but she's probably fine for what she gives us.)

So somehow, we need to reach GANTU of all anthro orca whales, and assist him in kicking Monsters Inc's collective rear ends?

I'm down

What are the odds, do you think, that there's another stewardship action next turn for []save more money for the auction?
