Darn it, Arch keeps foiling my plans! This is largely equivalent to the last one, but with Splatter Phoenix in place of the Pizza Cats, still focusing on getting us a Black Ops team and Technor robot as quickly as can be.

[] Plan Nystical Doof's Head Variant
Edited the plan after a big consensus in the discord for Kitsune to get the moles for better odds and hope that Goblin Fox will be satiated. As such, drop the diplo instead of stewardship and have Roddy do a very safe but rewarding stewardship action while Tobe trains with Maui Mallard with Dennis.

Specifically we're having Kitsune hunt the moles so that we don't have to be concerned about what we place her on next turn. Goblin Fox is not active next turn, but it will be next turn.

The +7% odds on hunting are also a major benefit.

If I can plug my plan a little, I really want the quest to go well! Compared to Nystical's quest team, the team I'm sending gains 16 Martial, 21 Occult, 6 Intrigue, 3 Stewardship and 1 Diplomacy at the cost of only 4 Learning. I'd feel much safer with our boss in the hands of a team like that than relying on 31 martial when things turn sour (and even leaving Martial aside it boosts all the most important stats for the quest at hand)

There is a lot about your plan I don't like even ignoring the Quest team.

You might be better off convincing me if you can look at my plan and suggest a change that improves the quest team with minimal impact on the rest of the plan.

My personal idea, which has a relatively big impact in relatively few swaps, is putting Lizzie instead of Juniper, letting Juniper do a personal (and maybe complete her bar with Wasabi?). Next, either use one of Jumba or Janus on a genetics project for our learning action, or (as I would prefer) put Ludivine on the Other Dimension-Inator. Wendy can do the collab, and either she gets the haste potion, and we still have a talk with Trevor this turn, or Ludivine gets it and we get to tutor Gomez.

How about switching Technor and Queen Lizzie (Technor has the same learning to bring to bear for the extradimensional tech action) and Juniper and Marco, giving you Mirage, Marco, Lizzie and Mezmerella on the quest (a significantly stronger team) with all the same nationals at more or less the same bonuses?

Oh, this is a possibility. This maintains a lot more of the nationals and personals, too.

Just so everyone knows there is an episode of Phineas and Ferb where Doof goes into his own dreams called Sleepwalk Surprise. This is apparently what the inside of Doof's head looks like:

I want to see someone react to this in the examination.

The Team Mirage, Technor, Mezmerella, Juniper has:
Martial 31/46 (5 + 26 + 15 Dancing)
Diplo 59/69 (26 + 33)
Stewardship 45/55 (23 + 22)
Intrigue 60/70 (31 + 29)
Learning 41 (11 + 30)
Occult 8 (0 + 8)

Mirage, Lizzy, Marco, Mezmerella gives us:
Martial 52/57 (5+29+7+5+6+5 Defensive)
Diplomacy 52/62/47/57 (26+20+6+10 Titanomachy-5 Dislikes Sarcasm)
Stewardship 48/58 (23+19+6+10 Titanomachy)
Intrigue 66/76 (31+29+6+10 Titanomachy)
Learning 47 (11+30+6)
Occult 20 (0+14+6)

Credit to myself, Argonlyzard, and Paddywagon.

Overall, a loss of 7-12 Diplomacy (note that I'm fairly sure Evelyn appreciates sarcasm?) in exchange for 21 Martial, 3 Stewardship, 6 Intrigue, 6 Learning, and 12 Occult.

Looks good for the most part.

Why is Wendy doing her red action rather than taking credit for discovering sapience?
I believe she already got credit based on her loyalty modifier. I believe that action is the action to release the secret of how to make sapient AI to the world, especially since the world already knows we discovered the secret.

Edit: Also with Vanessa going to SFIT we should be proactive rather than reactive with the Yokai.

Agreed and agreed. I will say that we should be doubly careful about Trevor stealing Wendy's work. Again. Still, he's a solid diplomacy hero with intel on Zaibatsu. I'm not saying we want to or even can recruit him, but I'd rather have him as an ally than an enemy.

I don't think we should be worried about Trevor stealing Wendy's work again. We've already claimed credit for AI, with Funtelligence even congratulating us for the achievement.

Besides, I doubt Wendy is bringing with her the hundreds of pages of theory and all.

If something like that did happen, it would be trivial to prove Funtelligence wrong, then sue the shit out of them. Wendy going under oath to talk about her AI research is... not something Trevor wants.

Quick note for everyone: We have word from the QMs on Discord that Now You See Me will not apply to hunting the Moles. Thus, Tobe is once again the better choice, and thus Nystical is likely going to rework their plan. Good thing we had the moratorium.

@Nystical Question: why do you have Malifishmirtz of all people leading the security seminar? That just seems to spell disaster for me.

I really don't want to do the extradimensional tech this turn. There's no pressing need for it next turn, so we can afford to hold off on it for one turn. If we do it the turn after next, then we can apply Doof's Learning plus whatever the council gives us (assuming Coven succeeds) plus one of our high-tier Learning units to get very goods odds at a crit success. I value critting the action more than I do taking it a turn earlier.

Alright, go ahead.

Propose an alternative.

Nystical Question: why do you have Malifishmirtz of all people leading the security seminar? That just seems to spell disaster for me.
Malifishmirtz is uniquely suited for this topic. His Intrigue stat describes the fact that he kept a network of spies operating in Drusselstein for centuries despite being a ghost bound to Castle Doofhawk. It also frees up our heroes for other actions.

Platter of Sweetmeats specifically only affects Occult actions.

Intrigue: 18 (Malifishmertz somehow managed to maintain a network of Shepard Spies for hundreds of years despite being a quiescent spirit.)

Traits

Shepherd Spies: Malifishmertz's network of shepherd spies allow him a +10 to all rolls regarding Drusselstein... you really hope this never becomes important.

Platter of Sweetmeats: Malifishmertz is... disturbing, to watch work. His seemingly impossible spells achieve incomprehensible effects... until falling apart from his own incompetence. It's... worryingly familiar. You've developed a network of friends and allies to support you and make up for your shortcomings. Malifishmertz... has not. He takes a -20 penalty to all occult national actions as his own choices lead to his undoing.

Two things. Firstly, we've been delaying it for a long time on that logic, and I'm worried we might keep delaying. For example, I'm 100% sure people will vote next time for Odd Transmissions, and there's no way they'll also vote for the Other-Dimension-Inator. Secondly, we already have good odds for a crit. If we spend XP to reduce the DC, we're rolling with an 11+40+4 against DC 50, meaning we crit on a 45 or higher.

Doof deserves to be there, when we punch hole through dimensions.

As for alternative we can just skip on second learning action instead of doing the same for stewardship or diplomacy. Or do Transmission action right now, it would still have 50/50 odds, and no risks of crit fall.

The thing is, there is no pressing need to rush it. I think people waited for when we complete council to have guaranteed crit on it. By itself action just opens access to bunch of other actions and it is not like we have lack of them. With crit we have good odds to find some very nice place, maybe open access to some kind of treasure. Without crit I just don't very interested in it. Also we have 2 action in turn so necessity to do Transmission don't really restrict us .

I mean, I have:

[] Plan Super Megamarts

But given the changes in planning and stuff that's taken place, here's a v2. It's literally just the current version of Executive Mole Hunt with extradimensional tech taken out and a Stewardship action put in. Used Smarty Mart because that's the easiest one that isn't Greevil. Took Roddy off Doof HQ, and put Technor on building giant legs.

That is fair, and I certainly don't want it to be delayed indefinitely. I just want to get the most out of the action we can, because the result will probably be pretty cool. To that end, I'd like to stack our modifiers as high as reasonably possible.

A 55% chance of a crit is good, but Doof's Learning advantage over Mirage can boost that even higher. Even if we have to use Technor or Lizzy with Doof next turn because Ludivine's on Transmissions, it still leaves us with 38+30+4= +72, meaning we'd crit on a 28 or higher. It'd expand the crit range by 17 if we can just hold off for one more turn.

Still, I can respect wanting to go for the 55% crit chance now instead of wanting to wait. Here's hoping that whenever the action is done, we get a crit.

If people are fishing for crits on certain actions It's worth noting that we will have the council unlocked next turn. Assuming we finally get the coven.

Whatever the council does it should help.
