-20 penalty to Stewardship? That's going to throw a wrench into next turns plans.

At least we can only go up from here for the rest of the turn. The remaining interludes are the Hat man one, II reach out results, and then Sparks iirc.

...Say, I was thinking about something:

Next turn we´ll be playing as Mirage on account of Doof hitting himself with the On-Ice-Inator...

...*Does that mean that next turn we won´t be profiting from Doofs "Diseased Lunatic" trait (diminished as it may have become, it´s still there)*?

I doubt the -20 Stewardship could have come at a worse point in time.

We *just* had Mirage swapped in, and it would have been interesting to see her side of of the coin. Maybe even have some proper CEO actions. Instead, we get hit, on exactly that turn, with a stewardship malus. And Mirage is, statwise, a downgrade already.

Killing our Action Economy is just the icing on the cake.

Annoying because of how much of this there has been in the last turns, but still true to the Doof experience, I guess. Upside: Still better than Sanchez Quest.

Well, on the bright side, we can now get rid of those low-hanging fruits that have just been sitting in our Stewardship bar for forever (Recycling Programs, SPLIT/SECOND, Comedize Supply Line, etc.)

The Stewardship actions that will be at DC 100 or less, including the malus, are as follows:

Sponsor SPLIT/SECOND
DC 80/100

Collaborate with Smarty Mart
DC 70/90

Improve Recycling Programs
DC 45/65

Construct Doppleganger Body
DC 70/90

WyndComm Enterprises - Civilian aeronautics company that constructs and launches satellites for commercial use. Has worked on contracts with government and private space programs in years prior. It might be a good way to jump-start any plans you might have. Cost: 5 Income
Yearly Income: +1
DC 80/100

All worthwhile actions. I'd suggest Smarty Mart and either Recycling Programs or Doppleganger Body. One gives us a good income boost, one gives us a slight income boost and improves our rep, and one continues a tech tree that I'd like to one day see completed.

Assuming we don't want to throw Wendy on the AI stuff next turn, we could put her on the recycling upgrade if we don't want other low hanging fruit. The roll comes out to 23 + 14 + 30 (the reward says that every third trash can gets an AI so I'm assuming her trait would trigger) - 20 + 1 = +48, so she even autopasses without XP.

Of course, we probably want to throw her on the tech trees that will open up, but food for thought

Keep in mind that Mirage actually knows how business works while Doof stumbled into owning a mega Corp through fringe knowledge and patents.

Stewardship DCs might fluctuate a bit.

Assuming they is still around can we deploy them against our enemies? Having Drifter wonder around Judge Doom's territory for a turn sounds like a great way to spend an action.
Honestly I could see this leading to a weird Toonforce interaction when he fails a check, because if something wasn't funny the first time you did it, it's gonna be even less funny the second time around.

In all fairness however, Doof's stewardship isn't all that low and is frighteningly close to Mirages from what I remember. He may not be megacorp ready but the man could still run a business.

Quick note, please stop adjusting the DC. I know it seems intuitive, but we effectively have a base Stewardship stat of 3, is the better way of thinking about this.

The reason is because otherwise you risk skewing how we think about crit fails and crit successes. With a -20, we need to get a total before malus of more than 60 to avoid a crit fail, not a total before malus of more than 50, as simply increasing the DC to 100 communicates.

Also, Mirage will give us another PoV, so some DCs will definitely be adjusted, stewardship ones probably more prone to that change of PoV than others, as she actually has know how about corporate stuff.

Fair enough

It still allows us to gain a *very rough idea* of what we can attempt next turn

BEHOLD: The Underdog-Inator! (Good)

Everyone loves an underdog, seeing someone come from behind, and succeed against all odds. This Inator will channel that energy to let you succeed at the IMPOSSIBLE!!!

Effect: Every failed National Action adds +10 to the next failed national action. This effect stacks until it pushes a failed action into a success. So if you fail one action, the next action that would fail gets +10. If that one fails, the next one gets +20, the next +30, and so on.

Thought about making it +5 instead, but given that each increase requires a failure, it seemed a bit on the low side. Maybe regular fails add +5, and crit fails add +10?

Behold: The Under-Dog-Inator! (Bad)

You think you typed a line of programming wrong on this on. For some reason, you find yourself under dogs almost constantly. You wake up in a pile of puppies, and people think the dogs that mysteriously appear on your head are some sort of fashion statement.

Effect: -2/-5 to all of Doof's stats for one round, as he constantly has dogs getting in his way.

Because puns.

I did a few more Stig intros like the ones for DEI earlier, based on the various Kings:

David Xanatos – Some say… that, underneath the suave charismatic leader, there are plans all the way downn… and that the scene with the Drakon mob a several years ago was because he wanted to eliminate the competition to win the "most badass voice in New York" award… all we know is David Xanatos was voted CEO with the coolest name for five years running.

Shego – Some say that the combat ability of Team Go dropped by 98.5% when she left them… and that her proudest accomplishment with her powers is learning to cook three-minute microwave noodles in five seconds… all we know is she's called Shego.

Ed Dillinger – Some say… that they have no idea who this is… and that upon learning he actually runs ENCOM a great many rumours would be started as to how he's been active for years but has barely been mentioned by name at all… all we know is he apparently exists.

President Martinez – Some say… that he tells the best dad jokes… and that the reason his hair is so dark is because he uses a combination crude oil, the souls of salmon and L'Oréal… all we know is he's called Richard Martinez.

Shere Khan – Some say that he's always dressed to kill… and that the reason no one can see his tail is because it's invisible and wrapping around your neck every time you talk to him… all we know is he's called Shere Khan.

Judge Doom – Some say… that his resentment of toons was caused by one stealing the chance to ask out his childhood crush… and that the reason his glasses are tinted it to block out how much colour and joy can reach his eyes… all we know is his name is Doom… and even then, we don't know if that's his first or last name.

Flintheart Glomgold – Some say… that upon being declared the richest duck in the world, he celebrated by ordering the most expensive meal in town and then kicking up a fuss so he got it for free… and that he has the plans to make an army of shark super soldiers that could take over the world but refuses to do so because the cost is 1.6% higher than he would prefer… all we know is he's called Flintheart Glomgold.

Evelyn Deavour – Some say… that when she took over, Kronos Corp had several slow days due to the number of people experiencing a celebratory hangover… and that there might be a secret meaning to her name but no one has figured it out… all we know is she's Evil Endeavour.

Mayor Bellwether – Some say… that, for some reason, people feel guilty when trying to argue with her… and that she's taken an odd disliking for carrots in recent times…all we know is she's called Bellwether.

Mark Beaks – Some say… that he dedicates three hours every day to making sure he looks good for the cameras, even when he's having a chill day at home… and that initial Waddle adverts were actually the idea of an intern who received no payment for the idea… all we know is he's called Mark Beaks.

Negaduck – Some say… that he only became known as the greatest villainous toon after he stole secret evil potential of Millie Mouse… and that the reason he's building a new time is so he can suddenly turn around and use them for betrayal target practice… all we know is he's called Negaduck.

Gwen Grayson (Sky High) – Some say… that her school finally had to install safety rails after losing a debate with OSHA… and that she has a surprisingly large amount of experience with babysitting toddlers.… all we know is she's called Gwen Grayson.

Just a thought but this guy(?) is still alive, right? They didn't dissolve into a puddle of goo or anything.

Drifter is around and you could attempt to utilize him in a write-in. However, Jumba's creations are, near universally, designed for undirected, unsubtle chaos that intentionally draws attention. DCs will reflect this.

Apologies for the delay in the next chapter everyone. I've been dealing with a very extensive mold infestation in my apartment. Should hopefully be situated enough to resume updates soon.

So long as said chaos takes place in someone else's territory then it is all to the good.

Unsubtle is a slightly greater concern. We are, vaguely, the genetics megacorp. Even if no one can prove we made Drifter to a court they will suspect it.
On the other hand, how much do we care about Mark Beaks or Judge Doom knowing we took a pot-shot at them?

If things aren't on fire next turn I want Janus to get to work on his lizard people.

Since I'm rereading the start of the quest and just hit the part about Malf's Castle I have to ask. Do we still have that signet ring that let's him be summoned for a while?

And his Arcane Tome of Ancient Lore? Have we used that? Is it valuable? And could we make copies of it to give to our magic folk/auction off for extra income?

We have the Ring, Doof even used it to let Malf attend the Christmas party.

His Arcane Tome is from Drusselstein. I think you can figure out how much it would be worth from there. :V

Why the split DCs? Also, why the hell take Doof out from the freezer??? That's just asking him to get stolen/lost, at least imo
