Makes sense. We got an option that let's us redo several old inators, one of which can turn every success we have into a crit, but with the drawback of several less than useful inators and that one that gives the crit successes also turns failures to crit failures. The other option essentially swaps out the Quest protag for a bit, which in and of itself is appealing and less risky in comparison (at least in my opinion).Gonna be honest. This has been a lot more contentious than I was expecting! We've gone through nearly 15 pages about which inator to pick.
I think I'll change mine though. So, the QMs have been on discord making sure we are VERY aware that the Duplicate-inator is probably a really REALLY risky Idea. that it is NOT a safe bet, and that it can go TERRIBLY wrong. I feel this should be shared.
I'm not changing my vote from teh duplicateinator.
Hey, it was just me asking some questions to make sure you knew what you were getting into, since another user in the conversation missed a detail while looking over the info posts. Not really "the QMs".So, the QMs have been on discord making sure we are VERY aware that the Duplicate-inator is probably a really REALLY risky Idea. that it is NOT a safe bet, and that it can go TERRIBLY wrong. Experiment 102-E: Drifter
102-E is a squat, gray humanoid with two heads, one of which is always looking behind it. Drifter forces victims into intense bouts of deja vu through manipulation of personal tachyon flux, leading to mass chaos as individuals repeat actions over and over again in confusion. Hero units that failed their actions this turn MUST take those actions again on the next as 102-E grows used to his power. If an action is for any reason not available, that hero loses their action.
Crits on Supervillainy and SPLIT/SECOND will do a ton to clean up our income situation, and most likely give us the Doc Hoppers loot we so desperately need, even after a small dip from rain-food.
Ok, so we get the Doc Hoppers money and a bunch extra for the detectives or whatever we want to spend it on. Hoppers or no, is more money not a good thing? We have 3 right now.
Feldrake's tomb/pedestal had 7 income in it.
rain food is -3.
We can buy muppets next turn instead of further risking a rival buying them out if we deal with Mirage instead of a rerun-inator.
I don't see as significantly less risky than the other option, and it's certainly a lot more rewarding. So, the QMs have been on discord making sure we are VERY aware that the Duplicate-inator is probably a really REALLY risky Idea. that it is NOT a safe bet, and that it can go TERRIBLY wrong. I'm not putting it off! I'm saying that if we want to do it as fast as possible, we take the duplicate-inator and get a big hefty Supervillainy crit for oodles of immediate income! The on-ice inator is putting it off! We've been told the Muppets can disappear. Why are we putting it off? Half the planning for May/June was about getting money for the muppets?!
I'm confused and crits freak me out.
Taking the on ice inator also avoids losing 3 Income.I'm not putting it off! I'm saying that if we want to do it as fast as possible, we take the duplicate-inator and get a big hefty Supervillainy crit for oodles of immediate income! The on-ice inator is putting it off!
Invest in volatility, sponsor SPLIT/SECOND, Supervillainy... there's a lot more ways to make Income in the Duplicate-inator. And since at least two of those are basically auto-crits? I think we'd probably hit 8 income very quickly.Taking the on ice inator also avoids losing 3 Income.
If we don't lose any more income, we could probably tolerate buying the company now and just dealing with negative income a few turns, or even if we only get a small amount of income from supervillainy in the next turn or two, that would be enough to make the situation tolerable if we don't lose 3 in one go.
Or we use the Duplicatinator and crit-succeed income-generating actions.Taking the on ice inator also avoids losing 3 Income.

Note: This may or may not be true, remember that Agri isn't a proper QM, further clarification is forthcoming. From Discord:
TL;DR We are NOT repeating THIS turn's Failures. We're repeating NEXT Turn's failures.
This means no repeat of Monogram's nonsense.
