Yeah, I know, it was meant as more of a rhetorical piece, but then I didn't follow through. What I meant, basically, was that he has the resources of a king, but he certainly doesn't have the influence of one. Heck, he doesn't even really have full power within DEI, in some senses.
Because we're known to spend ridiculous amounts of money on somewhat silly things, our Income doesn't represent our actual income, but rather just whatever we can shake out of the couch cushions, so to speak (except for the buyouts, I'm kind of unclear on how that gels with this). Now while I'm sure mechanically, we'll likely never have access to the full resources of the company to put on our absurd tasks, I do suspect that Xanatos or Glomgold, for instance, don't have to worry about that stuff, narratively speaking.
So effectively what I'm trying to say is that yes we're a king, but we don't really stand as an equal among them.
