Looking back on the threadmarked "Juniper's Encore" omake, I hope one of the high-roll events is that she busts in to Doof's office so we can get an option to just hire her for free or give her a final rejection. That way we don't have to keep messing about with priorities in regards to her.

They where always mentioned together and sat next to each other during the auction until after the sun set and Demona needed to leave to not get outed
there's a pair of redheaded women sitting in the rows behind you. The first is wearing a tailored business suit, and seems to be glaring at everyone as if they stole her lunch money or something. You have no idea who this could be, but based on the way Xanatos is pointedly avoiding her gaze, he seems to.

The other redhead is wearing a dark jacket, sitting a few seats behind you. Normally she'd fall under your notice, but for some reason there seems to be something off about her.
I don't think at any point it explicitly says that they were sitting together.

So if Arty is entering this mess, any thought on his position? Since he probably won't have PMC, is he probably more like the minor powers like the sorcerers from the auction? Also, any thought of what timeline is he from? It might be possible for a pre-book one to stumble on some other parts of magical masquerade instead of the LEP route or after the mindwipe at book 3. As far as I remember from the books his goals be something treatment for his mother and looking for his father if he hasn't done it yet and fame and fortune for the family name.

Another thing, is Xany looking to hire Marco full time?

Also, we would need to deal with the criminal underworld soon as summer comes around (maybe take a page from Xany and control them this time?) hopefully before the Plot control and hit us with it.

Edit: Did Xany's crack of the masquerade somehow make him active?

The Hug-a-Tree Inator (good): You had been neglecting your Greevil project lately. There's been too many things going on that have taken up your time to focus on it. Not anymore! You have built an inator that will make the people of Doofania want to conserve energy and save Mother Nature even without the time and resources of a proper campaign!

Effects: The public of Doofania is more in favor Greevil environmentalism. Auto-complete action, "Start a Greevil Energy Conservation campaign," as a normal success.

The Hug-a-Tree Inator (bad): You had been neglecting your Greevil project lately. There's been too many things going on that have taken up your time to focus on it. Therefore, you had built an inator that was intended make the people of Doofania want to conserve energy and save Mother Nature even without the time and resources of a proper campaign! Unfortunately it instead made people hopelessly naive about nature and try to hug random trees and animals, raising the rate of animal attacks and fire ant bites across all of Doofania. The backlash has significantly affected the Greevil project.

Effects: The public of Doofania is more spiteful towards Mother Nature. The DC for action, "Start a Greevil Energy Conservation campaign," is increased significantly.

@weredrago2 Does this look balanced enough? I've not seen inator ideas that have either of these types of effects, so I don't know how to properly balance it.

I got some questions.

I know that this is based on the premise of 'the villain won,' but where in did they win? For example, the primary one that bothers me.

Jumba. The GalFed occupation of Hawaii suggests that Gantu successfully captured Stitch in the first movie, but Jumbas love of Elvis suggests he spent time around lilo? And that isn't possible, because he didn't interact with the family directly until after Stitch escaped from Gantu.

Jumba was kept on Earth for months and interacted with the locals of Hawaii a lot, to the point he was genetically experimenting on them to help them (and secretly giving them superpowers). He could have come in to contact with Elvis through that.

He did interact with a lot of humans while he was "treating" them beside he is imprisoned on earth as a vet for the Hawaii containment so he would have plenty of time of getting immersed into their culture.

Alright so some speculation

Artemis himself has already been analyzed

Butler: Dom here is a product of centuries of breeding and training to create the ultimate bodyguard/Butler hell the position is named after his family which have been the Fowl's sidekicks since William the conqueror.

the man is a giant, trained from birth killing master a prodigy even by his family's standards with combat experience in a shit ton of special forces groups and criminal syndicates. He finished his training with a hidden assassin monk lady in record time. And he's been looking over Artemis since litteraly the day he was born.

to put him in perspective. a Troll a 12 foot tall posionus rageing killing machine whom can take shots to the head and not even notice and has tusks and claws that can cut steel like butter. He took one of these things on with a mace

and he won.
The only time in the series where he lost a fight was when an entire restaurant was filled to bursting with assassins all armed to the teeth. He still cleared out most of them before going down.
Statwise

martial:40s: the man is while still a man he is an absolute murder machine . He could probably go a few rounds with Khan if he really had to.
Intriuge:20-30s he's a professional who's been everywhere and probably put more then a few people down there. He's not a mastermind like his boss but when it comes to practical spy work he's really good. Especially if he can set up defenses
Diplomacy: 10-20s: he's a terrifying giant not really a smooth talker outside of thearts.
Learning :10s :he's not an idiot and is actually rather smart he just doesn't apply it to science
Occult:3ish: he knows it exists and has studied a bit to avoid obvious magical tricks but that's about it.

Almost certainly in a Hero ball with Artemis or has some trait that lets him do Martail checks for Artemis.

Opal

the closest thing the series has to a big bad Opal is a genius among a race that is far more advanced then us. By I think 4 she built her first computer. And she's hundreds of years old now.

She has a massive complex as she's had to deal with sexism in the field of science for fairies and had to play second fiddle to Foaly whom just barely edged her out as smartest fairy.

depending on time frame and if paradoxs are still in play she may also be a formidable magic user (for the setting at least)

she will attempt a coup d'état with Cudgeon using goblins and seizing control of the fairy government. If she discovered Cudgeon's backstab plan before implemented she could probably take power herself.

stats

Martial: 3: she's a fairy which means she's tiny, a pixie which means she's even smaller and with hollow bones for flight and she's a nerd which means she's never put in any effort to learn how to fight.

Diplomacy:20s: she was a fairly charismatic leader of her company at least in public

Intrigue: 20-30s: she's pulled off some exceedingly clever plans but she's also fallen for some very simple tricks and failed to notice an obvious backstab.

Learning: 37-40: She's competing for top spot with Foaly. I hesitate to put her above Foof and Ludvine but she should be in the ballpark

occult 20 or 30s :she's a fairy magic is litteraly in her veins. The real difference lies in if the paradox still weakened her interest in magic or not. Her magic is more subtle then most we've seen so far but she did have some good omph.

she's the more dangerous of the two potential evil fairy rulers but she's not really a terrifying force when compared to others.

and to finish a potential recruit

Mulch

A professional Dwarf criminal. Fowl verse dwarves are rather broken in terms of abilities. Primarly they can unhinge their jaws and eat earth and expel it out the other end extremely quickly. This includes a great deal of Gas byproducts which can launch him into the air. His hairs act as sonar and suction cups and can be used to pick locks. Saliva hardens to a stone like substance and knocks people out. Really all dwarves are pretty powerful supers and Mulch is the best criminal among them.

he has worked for humans in the past.

stats
Martial 15-20s: He can fight and do real damage if he needs to but he really doesn't want to. He's a Theif not an assassin
Diplomacy: 10- 20: he's charming and affible but not a master manipulator
Intriuge 40 or 20: he's probably got traits which boost the shit out of action Intriuge but he's not a mastermind.
Learning: 5s : he's a dropout and not really known for intelligence
Occult: 5: he gave up his own magic besides really low power translation magic. Never had any skill with it to begin with either.

If it is Artemis Fowl we're in trouble, as a child he was smart enough to discover the existence of fairies and decode their language by discovering their written word needed to be read clockwise from the center, another point to it being that based on the solution of the cypher. He then kidnaped a fairy and successfully held her for ransom by finding a way out of the fairies most dangerous defences. He later developed a supercomputer protected by an eternity code, which required him to invent a language from scratch as one of its early steps. The boy is a super genius criminal mastermind on par with, and possibly exceeding both us and Xanatos put together.
Eh. From the sound of it I'd rate him at about 80% of a Xanatos plus about 50% of a Doof. Xanatos probably has him outpointed on experience and networking skill, whereas Fowl tends to be a lone wolf from what I recall. His tech, from what I remember plus your descriptions, is good but not revolutionary; he doesn't casually violate basic sanity principles of physical law with the equivalent of an inator.

Honestly I welcome him; he's a likely contender for the "Alliance of the Semi-Sane."

I may be over-optimistic.

Perhaps the deviation is that Artemis was unable to save his father from the Russians, forcing him to take over the Fowl's criminal empire, oh god we might have to deal with Butler... I don't want to fight Butler... that man can kick a troll's ass...
I figure he's roughly tied with Genghis Khan. Maybe a bit higher-up in personal combat, maybe, but on the same tier. Genghis Khan's basically Captain America if Captain America were a genocidal Mongolian warlord, after all.

It's the fairies version of the police, one of the two protagonists, Holly Short, is a member of LEP-recon (Yes she is a Leprechaun, just the job tho, species wise she's an elf). The problem with the fairies is that they got into a war with early humanity and got pushed underground and have a massive hatred/condescending superiority complex directed towards the inferior 'mud-men' as they call us. So we might not want them in our systems.
True. On the other hand, they're one of those powers that's unlikely to poke us if we don't poke them. Since we have basically no interests that involve underground exploration, and aren't close to any of the few strategic locations on the surface that they're likely to care about, I'm not too worried.

Honestly, it'd be nice to have a non-ENCOM faction with decent computer tech that has to worry about cybugs besides us. Makes the cyberspace frontier more complicated. And I say "has to worry about cybugs" because if the fairies can get into our computers, stuff from our computers can get into theirs, even if it's fighting (ironically) uphill to do so.

But Why come to the USA? He operates out from Ireland and the competition outside of the US is far lighter. Is he aware of Toffy and Bill? Has someone done something to gain his attention?
Xanatos may have made contact with him because he's feeling a bit threatened. Remember, he's got to worry about DOR15 (I'm pretty sure he knows a lot more about the Florida Hat-Men than we do in-character), Toffee, and now this.

What is this 'Artemis Fowl' movie you are talking about? The Dai-Li have assured me that there is no Artemis Fowl movie in Ba-Sing Se.
Lucky bastards.

Huh. Hi Xanay, wasn't expecting to see you here. And yes, this does change things, doesn't it? For instance, you might be able to actually talk Marco into working for you.

Tom's eyes lit up. "Ooooooooh. Marco Diaz I'm Cazador! I never noticed that! Huh!"
I'm with Tom on this one; I didn't notice either.

Incidentally, I find it mildly amusing that you had someone named Tom give the full explanation of the anagram.

25% Doof his best tech feats piggy back off of fairy tech. Granted it's impressive that he can fiqure their shit out and reconfigure it in a short period of time but he's not blowing anyone out of the water without cheating a few corners. I think his best tech device came in the Atlantis complex with the Nano flakes and that was small peas compared to Doof's inators. He really shines in Intriuge and plans he really is the only person on the planet whom can give Xanatos a run for his money.

Butler is good he's fantastic but he's below Khan.

I really don't see it introducing a new mastermind to the situation one whom he can't really control and has no way to control? He may want help but Artemis doesn't really strike me as an ally that Xanatos would be after.

he can't be bought as he's already rich, he can at minimum keep up with Xanatos so plotting around him is dangerous.

hell even thearts would have to get past Butler whom has a hell of reputation in the underworld. Not to mention whatever else Artemis has cooked up or hired on.

no he's coming in as a new player because someone poked a beehive.

That said I do want to get on his good side ASAP.
