terrible, incandescently awful news everyone. We uh. The Masquerade? None of the big actors can play on Earth with the Masquerade intact. If it goes down and Toffee has been making moves . . and Dorito has been making moves . . . that says terrible things.

I think it's uh. I think it's probably going to end up that we "bury the hatchet" with Doom in the near future because say what you will, the worst possible villains are Phobos, Toffee and the Dorito. Everyone else is small potato or contained enough

I think the prophecy about compassion and aid could also be about Shego and helping her with the intrigue with the drug dealer situation, because well.

If someone is going for Kingship and Glory

Xanatos vs Demona
Shego vs Unknown Threat involving Drug Dealers (that are well funded enough to construct an entire armored airbase distribution platform as a decoy
?Zaibatsu? vs Dorito

I think this interlude is giving a lot of credence to Honey Lemon + Globby being the combo we're supposed to help. Especially since we're collecting the infinity stones the Big Heroes Six

If we had capacity to assist, I could also see the argument being for assisting Tom's Mom the Queen of Hell with the defense of her plane, but we simply can't help with that.

for now, at least

I don't really agree here:

-[ ] Environmental Adaptations (Dinosaurs) (Jumba)

Has only a 9% chance of failure (with XP) and a higher DC than Large Herbivore Domestication. Moreover this way if we do Large Herbivore Domestication next turn to we can take advantage of ???

Also, I'd put LOVEMUFFIN to study the SHV since they've the same CoS as with Silphium. Sure they can critfail, but they're just studying the laser, not building it.

Personally, I'm not going to be voting for anything that doesn't have Personal Attention, or at the very least, the Dickens here. We could, for example, use PA with the Dickens to spy on our employees and we'd have only ~5% chance of failing. There's also the fact that we will be recruiting at the very least 4 new heroes, which will increase the DC of spy and that I really don't want to give Kat a crit success sabotaging us that turn.

-[ ] Study Kronos AI

Wouldn't it be better to put Wendy to study our Normbots so she can upgrade them instead of Kronos AI?

No. Tron-related tech is more Alan's territory, so he should have more experience with this thing. Plus, his learning's a lot higher than LOVEMUFFIN's, so he should have a better shot.

I am not spying on employees this turn. Monogram bungled things up, so everyone's on guard and suspicious, which is not a healthy work environment and not something I want to encourage. After the retreat? Sure. Everyone will have relaxed and let their guards down, allowing the DC to maybe drop a bit, but if we fail then, no one is going to put two and two together unless we crit fail.

We're still trying to understand Kronos AI, so it's best we wrap that up before we move onto our own. That way, we can take what we learned and apply it to the Normbots

With PA the Dickens only have a 5% chance of failing. Moreover, the DC isn't going to go down. This turn we will be recruiting 4 heroes, if anything it'll go up. Also, the consequence of not taking this action this turn would be that we will get sabotaged with a critical success which I really don't think we should allow to happen.

There is absolutely no evidence that we will get sabotaged this turn. There's also no guarantee that spying on our employees will even reveal Kat at all. Besides, we have other things that need doing, like boosting Hego's loyalty

Look if the action that explicitly mentions as a reward "discover disloyal employees" doesn't uncover Kat on a crit success then absolutely no action that we've available will uncover him, which wouldn't make sense at all.

About Hego? No. we don't need to boost his loyalty. It'd be nice in the same way that it'd be nice to boost the loyalty of a lot of our other Hero Units, but we absolutely don't need to.

Yeah, we do need to boost Hego's loyalty, because it's currently at 0. One Man's Trash did nothing to help, so this is the only way to actually boost his loyalty effectively.

Society of the Eye that Sees
An omake that came into existence when I really should have been sleeping.
Society of the Eye that Sees

In a place that was still Gravity Falls (if only on the technicality that there wasn't anything else to call it) in the room of a giant pyramid standing in the center of the valley a throne of statues gained color. For the briefest of seconds it held its shape before toppling as the residents of the town along with some extraordinarily unlucky tourists all lost their balance simultaneously when the law of gravity asserted itself while it still had the chance.

The law of gravity then proceeded to back into a corner whimpering as blue fire sprung up around the tide of people and spun them into the air and then proceeded to fly them one by one past a gargantuan eye, the vast majority turning back to stone and flying back into the slowly reassembling throne and a minority staying flesh and being dropped onto the floor as hands of stone and shadow sprouted from it forcing them to kneel.

The eye then dilated and in it's depths a golden triangle exploded into existence.

"RIGHT" said Bill Cipher. "IT HAS COME TO MY ATTENTION THAT DESPITE BECOMING INVINCIBLE AND ALL POWERFUL I'M STILL STUCK IN THIS IDIOTIC HICK TOWN. A FIELD OF ANTI WEIRDNESS IS KEEPING ME AND MY APOCALYPSE BUDDIES STUCK HERE AND WE CAN'T LEAVE WITHOUT FIGURING OUT THE FORMULA BEHIND THE BARRIER. EVEN WORSE DESPITE HAVING MORE KNOWLEDGE THAN YOU USELESS MEAT SACKS COULD EVER HOPE TO REMEMBER I CAN'T EVEN SEE THE BARRIER BECAUSE I'M TOO WEIRD FOR IT AND THE ONLY THREE PEOPLE WHO MIGHT HAVE HAD THE TINY AMOUNT OF BRAINPOWER NECESSARY TO HELP ME SOLVE THIS LITTLE PROBLEM ARE EITHER DEAD, ESCAPED, OR TOO YOUNG TO HAVE A GROUNDING IN METAPHORICAL PHYSICS!"

"FORTUNATELY!" Bill continued in a tone that might have been mistaken for cheerful by a particularly dense toddler "ALL OF YOU ARE SO INCREDIBLY BLAND THAT YOU CAN LEAVE EASILY. SO AAAALLLL I NEED YOU MORONS TO DO IS FIND ME SOMEONE SUFFICIENTLY SMART ENOUGH TO CRACK THIS BARRIER WIDE OPEN. LETTING ME TAKE THIS CRAAAZY SHOW GLOBAL!"

It was at this point that a stupid (and brave) soul spoke out the single thought that was on the minds of every mortal present, "why would we do that for you?"

"NONE OF YOU IDIOTS NOTICED BUT ALL OF YOU HAVE SOMETHING IN COMMON" Cipher laughed and the yellow brick of his body began flashing with faces.

All of the faces were clearly having... fun.

They played, ran, and ruled in a land of kaleidoscopic beauty.

Every face was the face of a child.

"ALL OF YOU ARE PARENTS" Bill said in a voice that would have fit better on a dragon as his eye turned red and his body turned black.

"AND IF EVEN A SINGLE ONE OF YOU THAT TRIES TO RUN OR BETRAY ME I'LL KILL YOUR CHILD AND MAIM SOMEONE ELSE'S."

And with that Bill snapped his fingers and the unlucky group of parents found themselves on the outskirts of Gravity Falls each screaming in pain as a stylized eye burned itself onto their foreheads.

"DON'T MIND THE PAIN TOO MUCH. AFTER ALL YOU DIDN'T JUST EXPECT TO BE ABLE TO LEAVE WITHOUT ME KEEPING AN EYE ON YOU AFTER ALL DID YOU" Bill laughed as he appeared behind the group.

"NOW RUN ALONG LITTLE FLESHLINGS. AND RETURN WITH A MINION INTELLIEGENT ENOUGH TO FREE ME!"

And with that the group that would come to be known as The Eye that Sees left a physical hell and entered a metaphorical one of incredible stress and worry. Partly for themselves and the mark of the demon that they now carried, but mostly for their children and the fact that their seemed to be no way out of the nightmare.

Bill has gained The Society of the Eye that Sees

The Society is a group that is technically dedicated to freeing Bill from his prison that is Gravity Falls. In reality while still dedicated to helping Bill it's because they're stuck in a hostage situation that they can't get out of.

Martial 5: While some of them are athletic by virtue of living healthy lives very few of them have ever actually been in a real fight.

Diplomacy -10: They look and act like creepy cult from a hick town with a stylized eye literally burned onto their foreheads. While some are mildly charismatic the initial impression upon seeing them is extremely hard to get past.

Stewardship 8: Some have owned moderately successful tourist traps!

Intrigue 10: Living in Gravity Falls requires a certain type of person and that type of person is good at sniffing out and subsequently ignoring shady government agencies.

Learning 4: If they were smart Bill would have them studying the anti weird field. As it is very few among the society have graduated college and those that did didn't get degrees in science.

Occult 14: Living in Gravity Falls requires a certain mindset and type of knowledge. Also they all have a magical symbol burned into their foreheads.

Traits
Symbol of the Dorito: Bill Cipher is an incredibly powerful being that specializes in messing with people's heads. All attempts to mess with any of the society's minds will have an automatic -50 malus added to whatever trait used to perform the action (I'm assuming occult or intrigue here).

Direct line to the Devil: Technically speaking every member of the society has a direct line to Bill Cipher. While he cannot lend power directly he can offer advice. Unfortunately he's a giant dick who likes trolling people. The society randomly gains +10 or -10 or nothing on every non martial roll made.

Hostage situation: So long as the societies children are in danger no loyalty maluses apply to the unit

Loyalty: -100

If their children were made safe the society would betray Bill instantly. What did you expect?

Notes: That was... interesting. I rarely write things (which I'm sure shows in the dialogue and descriptions). Still I had fun and happy... Early Halloween or something?

Also this probably took place relatively early in the quest timeline.

Also also if it didn't make sense all the kids are trapped in Mableland, Ford is dead (I doubt Bill would let him escape), McGucket escaped (as seen), and Dipper while smart hasn't graduated high school yet. So Bill's stuck trying to get his hands on someone who can break him out of Oregon. I imagine he's pretty ornery by now.

I'm not taking any plan that doesn't have us researching Large Herbivore Domestication. This is the only turn where it can have thread backing, because right after Probability Turn the thread is probably going to go get distracted by superpowers and space tech again.

I would not be too sure about thread backing, we simply did not have Jumba interlude yet. If it opens superpowers research we will probably jump on it.

Yeah, we do need to boost Hego's loyalty, because it's currently at 0. One Man's Trash did nothing to help, so this is the only way to actually boost his loyalty effectively.
0 is basically starting loyality. Problems with hero staring after -25, serious problems after -50.

Yes I would not vote for LOVEMUFFIN on SHV. On crit fail we either lose laser or lose LOVEMUFFIN and sadly first one is more likely. Also we lowered Exotic Vehicles DC we can put LOVEMUFFIN on it.

I am neutral on Spy on Emplyers action. I think that with personal attention it can be done but if people don't want spend personal on it then so be it.

If we don't have retreat option on stewardship I would prefer Collaborate with Smarty Mart. It has low DC and gives us part time high tier Stewardship hero and with crit maybe even full time. I think that it's better than yet another Learning hero from WyndComm option.

On martial I want to look at outfit troops with power armor option DC. If it's doable I would be even willing to spend personal attention on it since I think that crit there has a good chance of lowering Reorganize PMS action DC.

I'm thinking critting on the large herbivore action might be good because there are a lot of dinosaur characters in disney canon. Since we are cloning dinosaurs we might get something similar to our beefy martial boy on a crit.

I was looking at dinosaur characters from Disney and I saw kickasaurus wreck and that took me back. What's kick buttowski doing in this timeline?

Probably in military school. So that means either:
A) He has been drained of all awesomeness and spirit
B) The Army saw his unique skill set and perspective an asset and made him a special black ops agent

The real question is what happened to Zeke & Luther and Zack & Cody

...Kick Buttowski as a black ops agent is both amazing and horrifying to picture. He kick flips off of the heads of his enemies

It sucks that kick buttowski and Randy cunningham got canceled so fast, but I guess the brand of cool they were going for was never really actually popular enough to stick around

None of the big actors care about the Masquerade. Bill does what he wants. Toffee is completely ambivalent at best and at worst is using the Masquerade to support his foothold because most people don't know enough to be suspicious. Phobos isn't even on Earth as far as I can tell, since the Glooms said his opening move was to march an army through a giant portal.
-[ ] Study the SHV 20905 Plans (Alan Bradley)
Alan is already keeping that a secret from us. Asking him to study it could end like asking Russ to look into something classified.

I looked into the setting more and I've got it stuck in my craw that the "dream queen" could be DOR-15. I don't know why, it could just be the ponderings of a sleep deprived fool. But the whole "meet the robinsons" movie is about dreaming big and DOR-15 is always refered to with female pronouns. As she is one of the main "kings" of the setting that would make her a queen wouldn't it?.

If there's something that makes this improbable in the thread I just got here within 3 weeks so I wouldn't know it.

I am not spying on employees this turn.
The issue is that we could crit it this turn and thats a pretty big deal. We still need to learn employee secrets for dream queen, kat, phantom blot is coming. If we can crit this high level action it seems like a incredibly good thing to do.

It's a genetic action. I'm pretty sure that with Jumba's trait it will always be close to the top in terms of support. Environmental Adaptations is the higher dc one and still applies to all dinosaurs. Criting that one would probably help us much more than criting large herbivores. Plus large herbivores combos with dinosaur park which we don't have yet. Definitely better to hold off on that for a turn and do Environmental Adaptations instead. I'll definitely support doing large herbivores next turn to keep that tech tree moving.
