There is still the digital laser. Researching the Grid will probably give us additional insight into A.I and how programs magically evolve beyond their programming.

I'm... unsure about this.

There is probably a significant difference in knowing all computer programs exist as people in a digital realm and building a functional AI in the real world.

I have no doubt as we progress through both tech trees we will get overlap eventually. Bringing digital people into the real world through the laser or putting them into doppelganger bodies seems like a logical progression eventually.

But I'm not sure if knowing one directly effects the other. It might but it seems like a bit of a stretch.

Interlude: Executive Summary, Part II
The office of Judy Silverman is as professional as you can imagine. A high backed chair sits in front of a long, low glass desk, Bakaemono laptop placed alongside a short thermos and a smattering of documents neatly organized. The wall behind it is a single window, its spotless expanse opening to a balcony looking out over the black and neon city below.

The woman herself rose from her seat as Mirage entered. Judy Silverman had black hair, angular cheekbones, and a high-collared business jacket. She had the sort of tightly wound, carefully controlled energy of a woman who was continually working towards the next checkbox on an eternal to-do list.

"Ms. Silverman. A pleasure to make your acquaintance."

"Likewise. I apologize for the wait, a board meeting ran long."

"Not at all." Mirage replied genially.

They spent the next hour discussing the specifics of DEI and Bakaemono's potential collaborations. While Funtelligence's bread and butter was AI, Bakaemono handled much of the hardware that powered the rest of the city- computers, appliances, circuit boards, custom machine parts, and the like. They were known to take on just about any sort of high-tech application including, though not publicly advertised, military defense contracts. Considering DEI's entry into the AI world, it seemed only natural that Bakaemono could rise to become a major supplier. Judy assured Mirage that, while their ties to Funtelligence were strong, it was far from an exclusive partnership.

As the framework for future agreements fell into place, Mirage decided to try for a bit of personal praise.

"I must say Ms. Silverman, I admire you. I can only imagine how difficult it must have been reorganizing this company after… the incident."

Judy took a moment to sip from her thermos. "No, not that difficult."

"Did Mr. Krei leave you robust records then?"

Judy put a hand over her mouth. After a moment she gathered herself and responded. "No, no. Alastair never really… sweated the small stuff. That was my job."

"I see." Mirage replied, giving her room to continue if she chose to .This was… interesting. She certainly would not be this open with someone she had just met.

"I wasn't glad to see what happened to Krei… I don't think anyone was, but he was… a difficult man to work for."

"I understand the sentiment." Mirage replied.

"Oh yes." Judy nodded. "I imagine Doofenshmirtz must be a challenge."

"No, no!" Mirage said quickly, realizing she had almost given exactly the wrong impression. "No this was a… previous employer. I've only been with DEI for a little over a year, but that time has been quite pleasant. The Doctor is… unusual, perhaps, but he treats his employees like family."

"Must be nice." Judy sighed. "I know you're not supposed to speak ill of the dead but… have you ever felt like you didn't matter to someone? Like your life was just a... convenience for them, if that?"

"From time to time." Mirage deadpanned. "I must say I did not realize Kreitech had such a troubled history. It makes your own ascension all the more impressive."

Judy smiled thinly. "I appreciate the sentiment."

Mirage and Judy spent more time than expected that evening chatting between themselves. It had been a long time since Mirage had found someone she could genuinely relate to, but Judy was both competent and cooperative. Judy's surprising openness had not hurt either, considering her own history. She had come here hoping to gain a few new business contracts, but it seemed as though she might be leaving with a new friend.

Eventually the time came for Mirage to leave and she stood up from the table, finishing the bowl of Sencha Judy had called up for her. "I am sorry to hear about… everything, with Krei. I suppose you can take comfort knowing those days are done with."

Judy, Mirage noticed, went slightly stiff.

"Yes." She said, taking a long drink from her thermos. "All over now."

Contact with the Zaibatzu has been established!

Research Agreements with the Zaibatzu unlocked! Bakaemono focuses on cutting edge electronics and robotics, Funtelligence focuses on AI, and Sycorax focuses on genetics!

Establish Bakaemono Supply Chain action unlocked!

The Zaibatzu are not currently united enough to meaningfully collaborate on non-tech or business related subjects!

'Recruit at SFIT' personal action unlocked for Mirage! We didn't expect her to be the recruitment queen, it just sort of happened!

Vanessa has been given some tough love motivation to work harder from SFIT's premier educator Grace Granville! She has a +10 to personal actions until the end of September/October 2017!

Mirage has formed a friendship, based on personal experience, with Bakaemono CEO Judy!

Mirage has the barest hint of an inkling that something strange is going on at Bakaemono!

Since Tom was successful in summoning Celena the Shy, what would you like to ask her about in the upcoming reading? Pick two.
[ ] 'Twelfth Night'
[ ] Something else about DEI
[ ] Something about Tom himself

There will be an eight hour moratorium on voting.

Aww! That is kinda sweet of Mirage to say! I'm glad that our employees think of us in a positive light! Truly kindness is a virtue...

These two seem the best, I definitely want twelfth night, and I don't super care about tom himself.

Cool, might want to team up on that AI tech
Establish Bakaemono Supply Chain action unlocked!
I dunno what this does

That was her job in the movie, to be fair.

Cool. SATs anyone?

always useful

Interesting. Do we want to try that next turn?

Wow, Vanessa gets a +10 for the next five turns on her personals. That's nice, hopefully we'll roll better on those.

as for Tom, I'm thinking Twelfth Night and then something about himself.

[ ] Something else about DEI
[ ] Something about Tom himself

These two seem like the best options, especially considering what we were explicitly told awhile ago.

Reminder: Tom doesn't care about DEI. So having him asking about it doesn't really mean much. I'm hoping that by asking about himself he finds a reason to stick around

Mirage really is one of our less appreciated hero units, isn't she? She's done great work so far.
I for one appreciate her being the Straight (Wo)man of the entire company.

Just look at our roster, and realize just how Unique Mirage became by being the normie around quirky individuals. Amd she actually likes working with us! Wasabi is gonna have a major crush on Mirage when he sees her.

Wow. We certainly got a lot out of that reach out. Very nice.

I'd prefer twelfth night and DEI.

Not particularly interested in tom but what do I know.

And out of curiosity how would we even have the slightest idea about twelfth night?

It's only appearance in story was invisatext to US.

At least the dream queen was thru Wile E. It gave a in character reason they might ask.

[] 'Twelfth Night

Infomation here might let us pivot at the last moment and deal with whatever is happening.

The real question is, does the Yokai remember her name?

Huh, no option for Star? Does she not want to talk about it? Or is that assumed?

Hmm...alright, good to see. Looks like the Yokai is definitely alive and killings strings from behind the curtains though, judging from Judy's reaction. It appears that we have another new National Action as well...depending on what category it falls under and the rewards it gives, it might be worth pursuing next turn. It's nice to see Mirage made a friend. I'd need to see what her new personal action can do before making any decisions on whether to do it.

Hopefully Vanessa's boost will give her something permanent.

As for Tom's choices...Twelth Night is a must-have, and as for the other...it seems a bit early to be asking about Tom, so I guess something about DEI.

[ ] 'Twelfth Night'

I think we all agree that we should do this.

[ ] Something else about DEI

Could deal with that Dream issue, this is basically a Mystery box.

[ ] Something about Tom himself

This might lead to us getting Tom as a better hero unit. It could give him reason to trust us.

Okay so I usually make my first post after the update a "clever" little quip so please pay attention to the fact that I am not here.

'Twelth Night' is the wrong choice. The Interlude is happening either before our next turn or directly afterwards; therefore, any information we get on it will not be actionable. If it weren't for the Probabilit-inator, maybe, but...we're locked into our choices, as-is.
