it's been years since whatever happened. If Hudson is in charge Brooklyn is probably no longer around.

I think the two names can be used interchangeably

Well damn.

From what I remember, Children of X is used to denote the current ruler/strongest of the Fae. They used to be known as the Children of Mab before Oberon overthrew her. If they're called the children of Titania now, it implies that he's lost his position. Of course, it's been a long time since I watched/researched Gargoyles, not to mention GM shenanigans, so I guess time will tell.

Yeah, the only thing that comes to mind for me when Shakespeare and a staff of some kind are involved is The Tempest, which I honestly only have Broad Strokes knowledge about.

So, the Shakespeare play Twelfth Night is a rom-com about twins who are separated in a shipwreck, involving cross-dressing romance mishaps, some identification mishaps, and crushes while pretending to be someone else. It honestly doesn't seem that much like something an evil plot could be made out of.
sounds like Tobe and the Gang have a New York to visit

also, I really hope the crit roll on Tobe and the gang studying the Scrolls of Jo-Lan unlocks some other character's powers. I was thinking Chun Li for Jing-Jing but uh. I'm sure there are enough Japanese characters to make use of, let's see here:

Ryu is Japanese. Supports the idea that the Scrolls of Jo-Lan might be from Japan.

Akuma has some similarities to Ryu's moveset, but trades off range for a better toolkit of gap-closers and punishes as well as hitting very hard.

Sakura, who has an almost exact imitation of Ryu's move set but she trades some of the punishes for more tools to evade and pressure.

Ibuki is literally a Ninja, and utilizes ninja tools as a zoner with precise punishes that leave little room to counter if she sets it up right and catches you

"Reinbo" R Mika is a Japanese pro-wrestler who looks up to Zangief. She doesn't have the physique to back up his style, so she makes extensive use of throws to gain advantage. She has some flexible moves that can pressure well, and as mentioned her throw game keeps her opponent disoriented and on the back foot.

Karin is the ojou head of the Kanzuki Zaibatsu and relies on a bevy of esoteric tricks to style on her opponents. When she's piloted well she seems untouchable

and of course E Honda who is a sumo wrestler and all around champ.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What's interesting is that outside of E Honda, they are all characters that rely pretty heavily on their technical kit. Even Ryu, who has the smallest toolkit, makes extensive use of the couple of forms that he has mastered.
both Akuma and Ryu could technically fight without relying on such things, but they'd be much weaker for it. Ryu uses a splash to round out his overall kit. Akuma uses techniques extensively to break the opponent even faster than would "mundanely" be possible.
I think that Sakura and Akuma might be able to be mined for movesets. Ibuki is, you know, an actual ninja so her moveset is less likely to be learned from the Scrolls and not just, you know. Studied as a matter of ninja skills.
Which, makes me think that if they aren't going to go for poster-child Chun-Li in terms of bonus kit, I believe they'll be mining Akuma because his kit is significantly different and pretty thematically acceptable to ninja. Oni Shadow Killer Martial Magic. Would be pretty sick for Tobe and the gang tbh
Been a while since I've seen any episodes with him, but...I think so, but due to the deal the two struck for immortality, he and Demona can only die permanently if one of them kills the other. And it has to be in person, no hiring a third person and claiming the kill via technicality.
Avalon travel arc happened since Angela is in New York.
so she is mortal now with the defibrillator trick causeing them to die and come back
Guys, I was looking at the map and I realized something...
We want to take out Doom first, not just because we've been putting up with him for longer but because his territory is a strategic asses for us against Toffee if we manage to grab it. If we have Doomtown we have a second front to invade Toffee's land, and it's right by Echo Creek, allowing us to do things like take the town and keep Marco's family safe, along with getting ahold of those laser dogs.
Toffy's earth holdings aren't a concern he possesses the ability to drop his troops almost anywhere from his dimension.
and as long as people DON'T VOTE FOR EXTRA-DIMEnSIONAL TECH. We will be completely ducking helpless.
Nevertheless his territory on Earth is something we'll need to deal with, to take hero units and resources from him if nothing else. The more area we can cut him off from the better, and again, we might want to have taking Echo Creek be one of our opening moves, but to do that we need Doomtown in the DEI family.
Crystal Key first. Which we were planning to do anyways this turn due to Probability fuckery and the incredibly low DC on the thing.
@Made in Heaven , my compliments on nailing Star's dialogue patterns.
I suppose the confirmations that A) She spends significant time on Earth and B) She isn't completely broken, can still make friends, and so forth are revelations that are worth having. Still, that's the second time we've been in the same city as her twice now, once with someone who would have literally recognized her on sight, sound, or possibly even mystic presence, is a bit annoying.
In all fairness, New York City is fucking huge, especially if you count the whole metropolitan area, and consider that Star was hanging out with someone who sleeps all day and is only active at night, which probably suggests she was keeping similarly nocturnal habits herself.
The only thing that could have given us a snowball's chance in Hell of finding her was sheer dramatic coincidence.
Having the ability to travel dimensions ourselves will not automatically nullify the advantages an enemy gains from traveling dimensions. It MIGHT let us retaliate effectively and eventually turn things into a game of rocket tag, but Toffee's advantage of having much more manpower and resources will still be relevant even then. Without one hell of an equalizer, you don't want to play rocket tag with a guy who gets to fire spreads of five rockets at once when you can only fire one.
It's not just an Inator it's extra dimensional tech. Here's an example of how that can be useful a extra dimensional jammer so he can't just drop his army in the middle of our city with no warning I can't possibly see how something like that could be possibly be useful can you?!?
At minimum I can force him to reconsider attacking us if we could at any time spread the technology around.
he's busy with his war. He really doesn't want Earth Kings to arm and lay into him while his back is turned
So we bide our time with Doom while concealing our work to fight on an even playing field until we can attack from multiple fronts, likely using the Tri-State area and Doomtown to attack his forces on Earth while striking at Mewni using dimensional tech and possibly an inroad through Mewni's Underworld via Tom. Take the bastard by surprise while he's distracted by Phobos.
Please don't escalate to instant pissy sarcasm.
So you want an extradimensional jammer. We know such tech is possible because it existed in St. Olga's from Star Vs. However, we have no guarantee that it will be easily found just by researching the tech once, or as an immediate successor tech. We still end up playing rocket tag.
The reverse might apply- he might want to crush us quickly before we become a threat capable of doing more than distracting him.
His earth holdings are not an issue.
we are also not likely to be able to take his capital.
and above all else we cannot do it alone. We will need Shego, Xanatos and maybe some other kings in an alliance striking multiple worlds simaltanioysly .
idealy we'd open up as a third faction in the multiverse wars. With each king working their specialty against Toffy and the other guy keeping either side from being able to focus on us.
not researching it doesn't protect us and doesn't speed us up getting to the point of getting that jamming tech.
he is already aware of the fact that we have the key in our perception and that we are going to research this we've also revealed that we are aware of how dangerous he is.
ignorance is not protection against him delaying the study of that technology is not to our benefit it's only going to leave us in a extremely vulnerable position.
He is going to be coming for us if he isn't already putting something in motion this terHe is going to be coming for us if he isn't already putting something in motion this turn with the 12 days thing.
Researching Extradimensional tech will also give us more immediate benefits in that it will facilitate greater diplomacy and commerce between us and the Demon Kingdom. We won't have to go through NY and Xanatos to get occult supplies.
Possible targets for doppelganger AI/bodies.
Doof – simpler since he is willing and available, possibility of gaining more personals in turn/ making personal attention less costly.
Commodore – harder, but we keep hiring him, and if we put him on spy on employees action we can really study his methods. Even without great success on action it can still be like very smart Batcomputer.
Momokase – because ninja robots. Not easy, still we have her video from gala, probably some other videos and information.
CoffeeJava – perhaps it still to early to create body for undeveloped Ai, or maybe it's other way around and it can help her development, I am not expert here.
Celena – I think sooner or later we will need to bound her to something, and robobody better than another staff or book.
Star – if Toffee attention kept elsewhere perhaps it will be easier to infiltrate/steal some other target. Just not dimension scissors since we have replacement available.
Here's a meme pick for when we've exhausted all other reasonable options: Rick Astley.
Hey, don't look at me like that. Sinatron started a concept of having Doppelganger AI be musicians, and the thought of using a robotic duplicate of Rick Astley to hit the MCP and/or King Candy with the mother of all Rick Rolls just speaks to me.
Would you mind expanding on this? I mean, I can reasonably infer that he has agents who know we bought the Crystal Key. On the other hand, those agents will also report that we dropped, like, a million dollars on a fucking sandwich, so it's not as if he's going to be able to easily deduce why or that we're specifically preparing against him directly.
ignorance is not protection against him delaying the study of that technology is not to our benefit it's only going to leave us in a extremely vulnerable position.
I should point out that we show no signs of "delaying the study of that technology" unduly given the circumstances, so I don't even know who you seem salty about at the moment.
He is going to be coming for us if he isn't already putting something in motion this terHe is going to be coming for us if he isn't already putting something in motion this turn with the 12 days thing.
Remind me again why you are so casually certain of that?
From an alcove, another figure skulked. This one popped open a small device, and Molly spoke in her angry, synthetic tones.
"Yes. He was here. That item you were worried about? He bought it." Molly paused a moment. "And he had a wizard with him. Strong. She called herself…"
"Lord Feldrake."
Clearly referencing Doof and which item is the most potentially dangerous item we got?
we could have researched it before now and we had a very easy option this turn to study it. If we had we could have passed the Extra dimension tech option with just our mods. This coming turn and gotten a crit on it which is incredibly important as it speeds up our development of that tech tree.
His stated goal is to wipe out all humans, We are aligned with his enemies,We know he is aware of us being aware of him ( see Doof tearing up his card and not accepting the corn deal) and we know he is aware of us having the key. Something that it's stated he was worried about.
molly is also clearly aligned with Demona as they were grouped together during the auction and Demona is doing something.
we also know some bad thing has been building for ages now in the background that's going to happen THIS TURN.
so excuse me for being salty that we're still two turns away from being able to do anything at all!
You know Demona is Immortal like Toffee but far weaker than him when it comes to Influence and raw power. We might be able to test some of our anti-immortal weaponry and see what sticks.
If any of them work we can prepare for Toffee and scale it for Toffee
