Is Jing-Jing the female on Tobe's team? I don't recognise the name

Well, there's a lot of interesting ideas here and actions to take for November/December, though I'm not really able to make a plan right now.

Also, could someone remind how long the vote stays open for?
One of the actions here kind of puts me on a pretty tight timeline if I want to try and finish an omake with enough time for the QMs to check whether they'd be willing to use it.

It's usually 8-12 hours, I believe.

Just gonna buuump this, now that the thread is more active.

Notes:
I'm down to infiltrate somewhere else, but New York can provide an early warning system for broken masquerade. Vote Zootopia

I am not down with putting Janus on any diplo actions. He joined to do science, let's do science. It doesn't matter whether him or Jumba gets to do it though, since they both really succeed. Having him do two diplo actions consecutively while avoiding having him to stuff he likes seems kinda shitty.

I would be happy switching Improve DoofOS Security with Dino Entertainment, however, Alan has no personal actions. Better make him useful and happy so he can get personal actions.

I will not be down to replace any intrigue action with Spying on Employees. No. Not after we just failed and guards are still up.

Since Sabotage Rivals is not listed, I'm assuming it will be unavailable for this turn. That's why Kitsune is on Personal Actions. If a QM says otherwise, intrigue actions can be adjusted to compensate.

I'm leaning towards using Tobe's bonus to a personal action, while Tom does the only national action we know he can do. Interchangeable though.

Norm will not join the Quest because he contributes only Martial. Which is Hego's thing. And we want Hego to shut up shine on this quest. It's not like the Wasteland is a one time thing anyways. Can you imagine the quest group assaulting the AXIOM the moment they find it? Pffft, yeah right.

I don't care about item assignment, or the other two/four Doof Personal Actions. They can be whatever. We don't know the limit of Ji Talisman's telekinesis, so we could send it to Roddy instead...

I would find that extremely weird from a both a mechanical standpoint and from how fortune-telling magic is supposed to work. You're not supposed to get 2 different results when asking about the same topic, it should be consistent, or how could you distinguish it from just random results?
Well Tom's reading needn't be monofocused on star: since Tom's a prince she can also predicts the fate of his kingdom

I think about 6-12 hours, earlier if it turns out to be a landslide, or later if it's close.

1. The future can change, and often has.
2. The supervillians are in our territory, and potential signs of shit going down.
3. The drug rings were being run by someone.
4. PROBLEMS DON'T GO AWAY JUST BECAUSE YOU STOP NOTICING THEM. That's the point of our Intrigue actions: THey don't add problems, they make us aware of potential problems, so we don't end up totally blindsided like we were by Lizzie and Stanley.
The drug rings are right next to our territory and have just been given a motive to move out, and national crime networks are, well, national. If I had to choose between infiltrating Cape Suzette or Zootopia and outright dropping one of our Intrigue National actions, I would drop that action in favor of taking another personal. But keeping tabs on the threats that might come to us is just good sense.

We already know they are a problem thanks to Rival Reports is the thing; but the Intrigue actions against that problem merely give us more information we can't actually follow up on because we are already being pulled in too many directions as is. We can't seem to use Intrigue to solve problems, only to get more information on them. But if we can't follow it up, it's useless. There's better ways to spend our time here, especially since if we don't follow it up the information may be outdated anyway, and we'd need to use another action in the future, further wasting our time.

Intrigue Actions would be good if we were willing to follow up on information given by them in other ways, and that will be true no matter if it's the Drug Ring, the supervillain attacks or uncovering one of the doomsday clocks in the setting. But we consistently aren't able to actually follow up on that to any meaningful effect; the threats just remain threats, but instead we just have a vague sense of responsibility for it to pull us towards it to compete against the the other things we have a vague sense of responsibility towards, diluting our efforts even more.

We can't actually try to stop every problem that lands on our laps, that's just doesn't work. But Intrigue actions keep pushing us towards new problems anyway. So, they don't actually help us at all right now. We have to accept something are just not our problem and can't be our problem, and let other people deal with them. But again, current Intrigue actions are the opposite of that; it's about having more problems and more responsiblities when we aren't even done with the stuff we already have. At this point I think the legitimately don't help us.

Why would we search for more problems? We are already juggling too much as is. We don't actually need to have more on our plate.

Excuse me, infiltrate New York? No, no, no. You do not challenge Xanatos to an Intrigue battle.

Again, we've been prepping for Blot for turn upon turn, because we know he's coming. And, by the way, it's been implied that doing the Intrigue actions gets more rival reports. It's always better to know what's going on, just so you can take that into account. Otherwise, you risk getting blindsided by something like Blot or the two super villains who were hiding under our nose for a few turns.

I like to think it's "conduct Shadow War against Encom". He's not telling us because he thinks we'd react poorly. Needless to say...We wouldn't.

Personally, I would. ENCOM isn't our enemy (yet) and hasn't tried to harm us through its actions even once. I don't see a reason to proactively make an enemy out of them at this point when we're not even ready to go to the Grid.

Excuse me, infiltrate New York? No, no, no. You do not challenge Xanatos to an Intrigue battle.

I completely agree with this. We may be successful but the moment Xanatos feels like taking a look at who is in his territory he'll find us out, and this doesn't even mean that he'd tell us or making us leave, he could just feed us up misinformation to mislead or influence us.

Xanatos would seemingly be fine with us poking around in New York.

-[ ] New York: DC 100
Xanatos' own personal stomping ground. You have no doubt Davey has his fingers in everything from the Sykes gang to Brocamas, but he doesn't seem like the kind of guy to get annoyed at you putting out feelers.
>Davey
IT'S XANAY!

Anyways, I doubt that Xanatos would mind all that much. Hell, it'd be an opportunity for him to control part of what we see.

I'd say it's almost half good, almost half meh and a bit bad more than just mostly meh, seriously there's a lot of the units in our Rolodex we could use but we won't go out of our way to recruit personally from our Rolodex.
I'll tell you what. There are actually enough people I'm sorta interested in that I'd be willing to go for her doing this. We might get some losers or traitors out of it but that's gambling for ya.

But one condition. Do her personal for updating her information on Olympia first.

If that's done we can go fishing for heros.

You know that letting him control what we see isn't GOOD, right? Xanatos is relatively moral comparatively, but he does NOT have our best interests at heart.

Like I said, totally fine with switching the target. But as stated by Hobbit and Richmaster... yeah.

You're assuming things. Xanny currently sees us as an ally worth cultivating for now. I doubt he would be willing to intentionally mislead us unless we start looking specifically into his plans. Which we aren't. It's not sabotage, it's just sending ears into the criminal elements of that region. I honestly expect Xanny to have done the same to us at this point.

No we haven't. Blot was properly revealed as gunning for Russ the turn before the Auction, and we haven't prepared in any way last turn or in the turns where we only knew about him OOC. Decentralize the Normbots, the bare minimum, is only getting done this turn, and only because we have nothing better for L.O.V.E.M.U.F.F.I.N. to do. We researched Resinferatoxin before that, even.

Information we can't act upon in any way is by definition useless. It doesn't hurt, but it doesn't help either. What priorities would you be willing to put on the back-burner in order to use the information given by the action? If the answer is none, they might as well not exist for most of the time. We'd just be doing them because there's literally nothing else to do. If we had Intrigue actions that give us more direct benefits or even helped us with we already want to do, that'd be a different story. But otherwise it's just literally filler and doing anything that would advance our interest would be better. But we don't get that option, so filler it is.

I'll tell you what. There are actually enough people I'm sorta interested in that I'd be willing to go for her doing this. We might get some losers or traitors out of it but that's gambling for ya.

Actually, the chance of getting someone we actively don't want is extremely small.

But one condition. Do her personal for updating her information on Olympia first.

Personally, I'm not planning to make a plan, but why do you want this? As far as I've seen we've shown 0 interests in interacting with Olympia after the Sands Gala.

He already tried to influence us in the Auction about the Magic Masquerade.

How does knowing our enemy's actions not help our interests? Knowledge is power, man. It's at least nice not to be blindsided. I'm not even sure what you're complaining about anymore.

I think that once she does it, that will be it for that particular personal and her other one looks like a ongoing repeatable one.

So if we complete the one that will probably give us a bonus against Olympia I'm fine ignoring the other one and just fishing for heros.
