edit: Come to think of it, PSN has a Survey option too. We can PSN Survey instead of Expand Econ if provinces do not do a survey.
And we desperately need domestic gold mine at this point anyway. Relying on foreign precious metal for coinage is horrifically bad idea long-term anyway.

Kinda what got us into the first Liquidity Crisis, though on the flip side all we would have done by trying to focus on more of our own mines was delay it.

Um . . . i don't know

The Western split off

I kinda want them dead so that we can be the only one

So Ymaryn Delenda est huh?

Oh. Yes, that's a thing.
Double down on surveys while we can?

Fundamentally it buys time, but there just isn't enough metal to feed everyone.

Figure out Banking/Cheques to reduce the amount in physical circulation and Stamped coins to boost the uses of more common metals without counterfeiting.

China also used spades for currency once

No? Or rather, delay for a long time. And thus a good enough solution in all honesty. Because...
The one and only permanent solution to this is fiat currency, and we need time more than anything else to arrive to the concept. So delaying it for several centuries (a good mine can easily do so, given that we do not export gold/silver) is very much a solution for the foreseeable future.

Well, yes, but buying time is nothing to scoff at either. We need time to figure all those out.

To be fair, Panem was meant to counteract the Liquidity Crisis to some extent, and we devalued once already (which is probably still in effect as well). And the Trelli aren't maintaining a huge mercenary army anymore, so the currency isn't spent on them either.

But all of those things are most likely only buying time and our easiest counter is to have a reserve of currency we can use when shortages come about.

The Porcelain works might help us as well as we suck even more currency out of the Med (and I suppose from south east asia) into our coffers.

Ya know, after the stuff I've seen in this quest, I ain't that surprised.

Yeah I ain't gonna quibble there.

To solve it we need to do More Mines(preferably silver), Stamping, Banking.

All so that we have long enough to get to fiat, or something like fiat.

Tanking the crisis for a while might work too. Eventually, the Guilds will find a workaround. And promissory notes are fairly easy to come up with as I expect something like that to be already in unofficial use.

Like, the glasmaker guilds buy charcoal from the traders and sell them glasswares. But instead of shoving money back and forth, the glassmaker guild just gives them a bit less glass and calls it even.

I just can't imagine that they aren't doing arrangements like that already. What we need is to formalize it.

Edit: To expand on this, odds are that it's only useful for transaction between larger entities with the empire that people trust in. So if the Crown hands you a promissory note, it gets accepted. The priesthood as well. Most Guilds too. the Companies, most likely. As well as the Patricians.

But with the Yeomen? They are too small to easily check up on. Nevermind the Urban Poor.

But thats alright. Thats already huge amounts of silver and gold that aren't needed.

mostly cause they suck us if we take a hit

i want to suck them dry

they are going back into our tummy where they belong

I am getting some bad Binding of Isaac vibes here....

Yep. Thus I think we need domestic gold and silver mine(s) until we grok other stuff.
Not sure what to replace with surveying though.

Okay, Dam-kun, wait one more turn please?
[X] [Crisis] Bring them back in with the fighting (Change Tinriver from Trading Post to Colony, will claim additional territory when fighting pirates, -1 Legitimacy)

Econ diff: - 1 (Survey) + 3 (Mills) - 3 (Housing) - 1 (PG) - 2 (Kilns) - 2 (Kilns) = -6;
Econ: 10 (+4) [-6+5] -> 8 [-6+5] -> 7 (?)

Wealth diff: - 3 (Mills) - 2 (Kilns) - 2 (Kilns) = -7;
Wealth: 16-7 = 9

Tech diff: - 1 (Mills) - 3 (Housing) - 1 (Kilns) - 1 (Kilns) = -6
Tech: 24 (+2) [+1-1] -> 20 [+1-1] -> 20

Culture diff: - 3 (PG) = -3
Culture: 24[+4] -> 21[+4] -> 24 and 1 overflow

Stability: 0 +1 (PG) -> +1
Legitimacy 3 +1 (PG) -1 (Crisis) -> 3

Sustainable Forests: 24/27.5 - 3 (Kilns) - 3 (Kilns) -> 18/27.5

No Dam, but a bit more preparation for inevitable Liquidity Crisis Strikes Back.

You are now the current record holder for "inspired X number of tags at the same time".

Use your power wisely! :V

E: For posterity the previous record holder had 1 tag that they inspired simultaneously. You have 2.

Shouldn't we integrate one of our polities, so we don't go max on our polity limit from the crisis?
We aren't that close to our limit right now.

E: Our 4 bonus slots are all full and we have 10 other subs in the general slots, so we have 2 left before the Vassal policy.
E2: Or 1 left and then Vassal added one. Have to check.

They are steppe march, and with fucking nomads going Super Nomad (all the cavalry) we are going to need them.
I proposed integrating Thunder Speakers because I do not trust them and they control one of two passes between Lowlands and steppes. Neither applies to Hawks, so let them be where they are.

It worked because spades were in high demand, actually used spades wore out, so it functionally made bronze/iron into a currency metal for transactions below Silver.

Noting it would be suicidal to use without giant iron production facilities, since it otherwise costs more to make in skilled labor than its monetary worth.

That'd be banking as a formal concept basically....but its also a fail state if you don't reach banking, as its basically reverting to barter

On the subject of integrating more provinces:

We're currently at 14/12 provinces. Increasing it to 15 grants +1 Sec Province Action, +1 Sec Guild Action and -0.5 Cent Tolerance due to Admin Strain. No idea if this would lead to more narrative consequences.

Also, are we seriously at 10 Temp Econ Damage Resistance after finishing the Prototype Weapons Storage? We had 7 before and currently have 3 Governor's Palaces, so that should be the case. That lets us tank max refugees if we want to. I would not be surprised if we could outright blow up struggling minor powers if we want to.
