On Thread Etiquette:

I'm not going to weigh in on the logic of either side's arguments, but I will ask that everyone read over what they write and really consider if the words they used are polite and won't be inflammatory intentionally or not. You cant account for people's tolerances perfectly but at least try to say your piece without saying things that can be easily construed as overly dismissive of the other side of the argument, thank you.

Please endeavour to be cordial. :^)

Definitely a fun idea. Such a project might want to mix that with the rune of Prospecting we already have which points towards ore nodes. And then there's also some possibilities for the Rune of Piercing Sight.

But off the cuff Prospecting + completed Windsight would get them going nicely. I *think* you can see the Winds if the source is powerful enough and the stone thin enough - prospecting would help point in the right general direction.
You just know a certain dragon is going to whine until Karstah makes one for him. Actually, I wonder if he doesn't already have some prospecting runes on him at this point.

When I first read this, I thought that you were wondering if he had Runic tattoos, to which I thought that wouldn't work...but then I thought: could you do Necromancy with Runes?
There was a theory @ArchAIngel came up with that a completed Waking Elements rune might be able to build an elemental out of flesh and bone. But that's about the closest we've gotten so far to that idea.

So I realized that Convert Siphoning is Difficult Research and thus applies, so our pool is 2+(4/2) = 4. As such, for the vibes I tweaked my research allocations to Slave Wyrm and Merwyrm Autopsy.

Before the Secrets of Light lovers protest, it's still up in the air if Soulcake will end up picking where the Simple Research progress goes at his own discretion, so it may not matter at all.

More like, you preserved a body and then carved Animation Rune into flesh or bones. If you used reagents from others of the same species the Runes might enhance the Runic "Zombie"

Well, are you sure about that? Examine KKR is not marked as simple or difficult so I think you're only at 1 extra simple progress.

See this is why we did not take the Heir of Thungi. If we had right now there would be a bunch of people decrying the idea of 'runic zombies', they'd be all: 'think of the beardlings,' 'we can't make runic zombies', 'Snori isn't Doctor Frankenstein' and other boring non-radical statements like that. :V

Surprised me too when people took up that variant when I made it. Guess folks want dragons more than the hammer. Not that I'll complain.

Don't get me wrong, the dragon being proposed is going to be cool as shit. But I think we might actually get lynched if we tell the Dawi heading north that we haven't even looked at the hammer yet.

You know, it makes me wonder if had Thungni noticed Snerra all the way back at the beginning of this quest, would she be the one claiming his hammer. And would she have been claiming to be his Heir?

I'm just of the opinion that the Hammer can wait a turn, it's not fundamentally more time-sensitive than other research projects, merely of greater scale and potency. Meanwhile, the Drakks are living beings who are developing and growing as people, and at the very least need some attention and care given to them, and ideally should have some of that care coming from us, given how damn absent we've been from their lives. The Hammer (probably) won't think less of us for not researching it, the dragons might very well just not care for us much if we don't involve ourselves in their lives. At least, that's my thought process.

They are on he equivalent of their apprenticeship. I think they are done needing attention each turn.

Yeah, each turn. When was the last time we personally spent a turn with them, instead of just having Karstah do it? I'm not super hard on the side of Drakks, I really don't mind if Hammer wins, but I just feel like we should make at least a token effort to personally be in their lives.

I will readily admit that its more of a narrative decision as opposed to a mechanical decision, as I simply want Snorri to be more involved in their lives where he can.
