Please please please tell me that this isn't another "snub-Ren" moment and Naruto and Asuma and Tsunade and fukkit Hidan were invited to victory game night. The alternative is Kagome dancing and that might well cost more than it's worth.

Plus, a whole, "Oh, Hi" reunion between Uncle and Hidan after he finished wrecking a world war from the rear lines would be pretty awesome. We really do need to periodically (with Asuma consent) invite him to visit more often lest he invite himself again.

For now, though, Ruri had more immediate concerns. Lord Gōketsu was missing, and Lady Nara had, in desperation, asked her to do the celebratory speech. It was an honour, and would have been more of an honour if Ruri hadn't been aware that the only others qualified to speak about the action were Lady Nara herself (and she tended to avoid speeches as best she could), Hyūga Neji with his legendary eloquence and charm, the dour Hyūga Motokazu, and Minami Aika (who had not concealed her feelings towards her Hyūga teammates). Either way, a success here could go a long way towards salvaging the night, while a bad enough failure could invite a riot. Besides, there were agendas to advance.
[X] Manipulate Keiko into unknowingly walk into Orochimaru's path.

Y'all, of course Mari lied. And Hazou's bloodline limit, if nothing else. There's a decent chance this comes up again. I wonder what our cousin Shin is doing these days...
Actually, wait. Is the Mist ambassador in leaf a Kurosawa? Because if so, and if Oro gets curious... That may be Two high ranking Mist bloodline folks that go missing. That's enough to end an alliance.

Y'all talking mad shit about how Hazou is too important to dissect. Anybody still think that? Cuz I have some beachfront property in Arizona I'd like to sell.

EDIT: I intended this in a joking manner and I apologize for the way it comes across, it was unintentional

@eaglejarl @Velorien would we be able to use a fate point to know Tsunade's whereabouts? Reasoning being we looked into it to know if it was possible to invite her to game night but decided against due to her doing x at y.
@eaglejarl is offline, so no QM response available yet, but I'd like to see some kind of thread consensus on whether the hivemind wants to spend resources on this.

Provided that Orochimaru doesn't spring anything on Hazou that we need to vote on (long shot to hope for, I know), I precommit my vote for the next update to action plans that involve Necromancy.
"Actually," she said to Orochimaru, "I've been thinking about a research topic you might find interesting. Tell me, what are your thoughts on cognitively-independent shadow clones?"
...Yeaaah. So ignore that.

It seems we are in crisis... again, so I'll put long term discussions on hold.

First things first: are we 100% certain of Kei's whereabouts?

If we can locate her while Mari leads Orochimaru on a "search" we can buy ourselves a bit of time to act. We can then go to either Asuma or Shikamaru for advice; I doubt we have time for both in person (maybe a shadow clone could allow us to do both?).

There is no way Oro has been let back into the village without the Tower and/or the Nara thinking of some contingencies for Oro kidnapping people in Leaf again. Those safeguards are our best bet if Snucle insists we accompany him anywhere secluded.

"There you are, Hazō!"
Heroic interrupt!
Mari wins. Mari inflicts ?? mental stress.
Get wrecked Snake Uncle!

Priority one is getting all of our family out in one piece. Priority two is making sure we don't ransom the secrets of the universe to Orochimaru.

Orochimaru gave us an explicit out. An attack will take precedence.

Can we convincingly fake an attack?
Can we convincingly have the Pangolins believe there was attack, such that they need Keiko for some inscrutable reason?
Can the Nara fake a sealing failure?
Can we fake a sealing failure?
Can we cause a real sealing failure?

Can we convince Orochimaru that Mari was mistaken, and Snowflake is a waste of his time? Can we do this without him ever seeing Snowflake?

Can we convince him that the real us were never at this party, and we were all shadow clones?

@eaglejarl @Velorien Just so I am clear, what does Hazou think Mari's intended hand-sign message was? I am conflicted between her meaning "locate Kei, you both run like hell", or "Kei is the sacrifice, run like hell".
Hazō thinks it's "Have Kei run like hell". If Orochimaru still had an immediate interest in Hazō, he'd stay with him (or take him away) and leave Kei for dessert.

Oh good.

Only Hazou has to leave the village then.

"That said," Orochimaru mused, "when I consider my original reasons for overlooking the Iron Nerve…"

Maybe we take a nice vacation with Hana and her new boytoy friend? There are nice beaches in Tea, right?
