I'd rather have Tobe on the personal action. 60% odds on an action is barely better than 50% odds, and I judge Tobe taking a personal action to be a better use of his time than giving a +10 to a relatively unimportant action that has a significant chance of failure no matter what.

And I'm sorry, but I don't want to swap to ACME until we become more likely to succeed at it than we are now. While I hope that Wile could get an extra bonus to the action, the fact that said bonus isn't spelled out like Janna's is to the Chicken Itza action makes me hesitant to rely on the assumption.

Yes, but we have received out of universe information from the QM that that counts as a Masquerade Russ won't break. Since we have not received such for Arizona, and we appear to have in universe confirmation that there is not a Masquerade going on there, I feel that it's fine to send Russ to check on Toffee.



Actually, this can be settled fairly easily. @Made in Heaven , two questions:

1. Would we get a bonus from assigning Wile to the ACME action?
2. Does Toffee and his Kingdom in Arizona count as a Masquerade that Russ will refuse to investigate?

That +10 makes a 25% chance to critically fail go down to 15%.

Even if he doesn't, he should be the one to do it instead of Mirage or whoever else. The person you assign can effects rewards, and considering he wanted to try running ACME before we bought it, he might appreciate the attempt to learn about the company.

Plus it could help with his trait.

Goofy on City Council: 28 + 4 (Loyalty) - 5 (Everyman) = 27
Technor on City Council: 32 + 4 (Loyalty) -10 (Power Hungry) = 26

If we lose out by one I will rage quit* the quest.

All of the actions that reveal secrets for [Region] are apart of the Masquerade.

That is not confirmation of no Masquerade. That is simply the government not shooing people away. The government isn't doing that for Florida, Oregon or whatever.

what's weird about an infrastructure project in a ck2 styled Quest , also highly specific?

if you're announcing a railway you got to announce the major stopping points and I mean what better major stopping points then the capital cities of the states we claim and doofania( Denver is on shegos side of the Border)

also aren't we a wannabe Nation
shouldn't we be doing infrastructure and Public Works projects to convince the Common Man that us ruling them is a good ideal?

1. There's no silent "+25" that Coyote will get just because it's ACME or anything, but as others have said, the hero you assign to the action does affect rewards in some way. Remember the 'investigate Echo Creek' action? Max succeeded on the roll and got the relevant info by stumbling around and getting lucky. Someone else like Mirage or Russ could've been a lot more analytical in their approach.
2. As far as you know there's nothing weird going on down there aside from Toffee existing and freaking Janna out.

Yes, and I judge that a risk worth taking.

Like, we effectively roll a straight d100 with the risk of critfailing with our Inators every turn. We do that because we judge the risk worth taking, even though there are only slightly more good inators than bad ones. We have an easy way to mitigate this, at the cost of one out of four of Doof's personal actions.

This is a similar situation to our Occult action this turn, which has a 51% chance of succeeding and a 49% chance of failing. And even in that 49%, half of the results wouldn't actually hurt us besides wasting a turn. I'm performing the same risk assessment with this action that we normally do for Inator rolls, that it's better to get another action than to hedge our bets.

The reason I was asking was because I consider a 56% chance too risky when we could just take an action with an 81% chance instead.





Whelp, given that the QM just gave me a good impression of the "Are you sure" GM voice in his reply, gonna swap over to having Russ give Hawk false info. Editing my plan soon.

Huh, this going well could potentially alter Doof's perception and maybe make him more willing to pretend to "step down" as the ruler of the area.

Screw it, gonna swap over to the ACME action. Lots of people want it, and I'd rather attract votes for the other differences in my plan then lose them because I didn't support a top pick.

One small error in your plan I noticed was that you included Work for the Boss for Lizzy even though she's doing a personal action in the parenthesis.
 
So, how does spending XP work? I probably earned some XP from Star Won't, and would probably like to apply it to Diplo AI or Express Delivery, but I don't know how much I earned, and how I would go about applying it.

The QM is going to make one big post awarding XP for every omake that has been made. Once Made in Heaven calls the vote you say, I want to put A amount of XP on B action. You can choose to lower the DC, add to the roll, or lower the critsuccess threshold. Every 100 points is progress to one of those areas. You can spend a maximum of 1000 XP per action.
